I’m from Arizona and this was one place I knew that I wanted to stop and they did not disappoint. The employees were so polite and knowledgeable, they were even kind enough to give me a free chai because they were out of the coffee I had ordered. I bought a chocolate crème chocolate dillo, brownie, and chocolate cookies stuffed with vanilla crème. Everything was fantastic and I always appreciate a fully vegan restaurant that can best any non-vegan food.

I love this place! Frisch not only has a courteous and energetic staff; not only is the food out of world delicious; but the atmosphere can change the gloomiest of days into your most inspiring day. I am not a vegan in any respect, but this was a truly delicious meal. This was my first time eating Shawarma. Not only was it delicious, but the fragrance was blissful. I also recommend the house coffee with almond milk. Whether you are vegan or not, I urge you to treat yourself to a sit down at Frisch.

Best vegan food in town! Nachos, burritos, buffalo chick’n wraps, spicy mac ‘n cheese, etc. all very good. The cheese sauce is among the very best, not to mention their vegan treats OMG brownies, cinnamon roles… mouth watering. AND a coffee bar. Perfect location for students going to SLCC South City Campus. The employees provide excellent service for a small staff. Highly recommended for all!!! I’ve brought several people who are carnivores and they were huge fans. Small, local, ethical, delicious food, amazing french press, superb business.

Great vegan café. Large, tasty creative meals. The buffalo wrap w fake chicken was terrific. The tuNO fake tuna salad for $ 4 was a Delicious bargain. And finished with a vegan carrot cake and almond milk latte.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by Frisch. It was definitely cute and our service was great, but my meal was wholly forgettable. I’m sure that vegans really appreciate having Frisch as an option for dining out; next time I go out with my vegetarian friend, we’ll probably stick with another old standby. At the waitress’ suggestion, I ordered a buffalo soy chicken wrap and a plate of nachos to share. I’ve said before that I can eat anything that’s been covered in buffalo sauce. Sadly, while my soy chicken was spicy, it was not covered in anything that I would qualify as buffalo. The soy chicken itself was kind of weird in flavor and, especially, texture. I definitely prefer seitan as far as meat-free protein goes. The nachos were covered in a creamy mustard-y sauce and came with beans and rice. They were okay, but cold. We did really like the all-day cookie that we shared for dessert. It was triple chocolate. Rich, rich, rich, big, and super delicious. At the end of the day, our meal at Frisch wasn’t a total loss. The service was great and so were the desserts. I won’t hurry back, but wouldn’t mind sampling a few other menu items.

Oh Frisch. For years I wanted to try this place. I usually get the craving to go when I’m out on the town doing my Sunday grocery shopping(I always seem to pass it)… But alas, they’re always closed on Sundays. So I decided I needed to make time for Frisch and my stomach, utilizing a Saturday studying session. Frisch is a type of restaurant that speaks to my soul — being a completely Vegan place. Having the option of having all the options makes a huge difference when eating, unfortunately the meal did not impress me as much as the idea of the place did. Right off the bat, the employee noticed I had a big ol’ backpack with me and asked if I was a student, thus giving me 10% off my order. I love when places promote the overall wellbeing of students! Frisch was a nice little place to study — I sat all the way in the back of the eatery, right next to the cold draft when the back door was frequently opened, and only dealt with a few loud customers(headphones make the difference, man!). I had heard so much about Frisch’s nachos so I had to get an order of them — going with the Half-Sized Nachos, and I also decided to go with the Obligatory Veggie Wrap as I was craving something with a ton of veggies. I added the spicy soy chicken to my wrap for an added protein/flavor boost. I started on the nachos, and really enjoyed them. I liked the added black beans and rice to give this side more texture, taste, and a little more depth, but it’s hard to keep everything on the chips as its not REAL cheese you’re eating(more like a delicious cheese sauce) so I had to start eating everything with a fork. The nachos came with a side of very tasty salsa that I ended up using all throughout my meal. The presentation of the veggie wrap was pretty, but overall the wrap was just… lacking. A spread stronger than their plain hummus needs to be added to this wrap… it’s too bare. Thus I utilized the nacho’s salsa here. The soy chicken was not very enjoyable. I found myself eating around most of it. I ended up taking the bulk of the wrap home with me, and consumed it later on in the day, reconstructed on sliced bread, with an added condiment or two. This thoroughly improved it. I’m really not that hard to please when it comes to sandwiches, but Frisch’s wrap really did not work for me. What I found weird about this place is they primarily keep everything behind the counter… I had to go up and ask for silverware and napkins. I’m glad I brought my own water bottle or I’d have had to go up many times for refills, and would have felt like a complete nuisance. Overall, I was impressed with the vegan nachos but severely underwhelmed by the wrap. On principle, Frisch will be a place I visit again, but I hope that the second visit, and the trying a new selection of menu items, will impress me more than my first visit. To be continued…

Great place and great food! I’m neither vegetarian nor vegan, but I come to Frisch because it’s just GOOD. The Full Whittaker Nachos are amazing, and they make the best soups. When they have the Shyawarma on special, I always get it. Their other specials are usually awesome, too. Also, amazingly friendly people! And save room for dessert. I was there during the holidays and they had a pumpkin pie flavored chia pudding and an egg nog/cranberry sauce chia pudding. AMAZING. Their baked goods are to die for, too.

One of my favorite places to eat in Salt Lake City! Anytime I’m downtown, Frisch is a must. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and always make your food fresh and with care. The food is absolutely amazing! I’ve had almost everything on the menu, but my favorite item is the Nachos. I highly suggest you order them«Full Whittaker» as well. If you live in Salt Lake or are just visiting, make sure to check them out!

The staff is what really sets Frisch apart. Friendly and easy to speak with. They are not overbearing and dogmatic to my carnivore friends that I bring over. Universally, people love it. My only complaints come down to marketing. Perhaps it works for them, but the name is awkward and difficult to remember and pronounce. From the parking lot, it is hard to tell that there is an amazing restaurant within the strip mall. Improved signage would help.

I don’t know what took us so long, but WOW! Frisch is DELISH! They had a vegan-tation of Taco Bell’s Crunch Burrito(or whatever the latest burrito trend is), and we FOUGHT over it, it was THAT good! I had the«egg» salad and we also shared their spicy mac ‘n cheese. The little chocolate-peanut-butter«Twinkie» was also out of this world. I want to eat every meal here! Coffee was exceptional as well.

After an incredible trip to Twin Falls, Idaho, we headed back towards Salt Lake City airport. Determined to get a good vegan meal, I scoured the web for a place that was open and would be good. Frisch Compassionate Eatery seemed like the best choice. Located in a strip mall with barely any sign, we were just thankful that we finally found it before they closed at 8 p.m. This small vegan café had a lively interior with bright yellow walls and turquoise accents. It felt like a 50’s diner, but much nicer. There wasn’t too much seating, but there also wasn’t anyone else there so it worked out well. We sat down and after five minutes, got thirsty so I asked for the natural soda I ordered and for them to fill up the water container. They did so promptly. We started with the Full Whittaker Smothered Nachos. These nachos were topped with spicy soy chick’n and smothered with a nutritional yeast based cheese and their housemade hot sauce. Chris loved it. It took me a few minutes to warm up to the unusual flavors, but after a few minutes I was into it. Chris nearly ate the whole plate! I also ordered a small Technicolor Tempeh Kale sald for $ 4 that had mixed greens, kale, carrots, sprouts, and kale. It was very fresh, but the tempeh could have used a bit more flavor. We also ordered their Spicy Mac n Cheese made with spicy soy curls, tomatoes and the same housemade cheese sauce used on the nachos. I just felt like the cheese sauce worked on the nachos, but didn’t stand alone very well. I got some of their housemade hot sauce, which is one of the best hot sauces I’ve ever had, and that made the meal! I love that this place is all-vegan and offers very fresh food. Their hot sauce is spectacular, but some of the dishes could use a little oomph. Most items are $ 7-$ 9 each so not bad. And the people who work there are super nice. I’d come back, but next time I’d try their sandwiches instead.

What a genuinely great place! I’m a vegan who heard about how amazing the nachos were, so I went on a quest to try them myself. I got them; they were awesome! What really made my day was not the food alone, but instead the lovely lady at the cash register. She really helped me out and I told her about my not-so-great day. She definitely made me feel better by talking to me and when I got home I found a surprise note inside reminding me that the day will only get better. Now I can say that it has! Thank you for making my day and standing by your business and truly being compassionate! It goes a long way. :)

Not bad, but not great. The food here is what most people would expect of a vegan restaurant-bland, boring, and filling, but not fulfilling. As someone who has been vegan for almost 10 years, I was disappointed. My friend and I split the nachos, which were strange. Topped with a house made ‘cheese’ sauce which was just nutritional yeast and water, salsa, a small amount of beans, and RICE. On nachos. So weird, and not in a good way. My eggless egg salad sandwich was so boring. Also lacked flavor and tasted like something I could make at home for half the price. I had a bite of my friend’s chicken shwarma, which I liked much better. I also had a bite of one of their house made vegan Twinkies, which was delicious. Overall, the food is hit or miss and lacks spice, complexity, and flavor. The cashier was nice but seemed very upset and overwhelmed. Prices are too high for what you get. I would come back for the shwarma or baked goods, but this wouldn’t be my first choice in SLC.

Let me start by saying I’m not a vegan, my coworker and I were looking for healthy options,(which are few and far between near our work). I’ve heard about this place on a favorite podcast of mine, so I said we should go try it. I got the spicy mac n cheese, and she got the Big Boy wrap. We were both pretty surprised at how good it was, she couldn’t get over how filling and just like chicken it was. The portions on my mac were very generous! I actually had it a couple more times that week. We’ll definitely be going back for lunch more often. The service was pleasant, and the atmosphere was inviting, and I’m a sucker for the checkerboard floors. We did have a little issue of finding it, I was looking for a sign above the restaurant like the other shops have, nearly missed the window sign.

Okay, I have been to Frisch a couple of times before. When I am looking for something healthy and quick, I have found myself here at the suggestions of friends. The vegan chickn is really good, the texture is great! Their sandwich combinations are good. Here’s my beef(no pun intended), I have had the flu for three days, I got dragged out of my house and came to Frisch, I ordered my food, and asked to try a small sample of the soup before I purchased it. Not hard. Give me a spoon, give me a small small cup; whatever. The girl hastily responded with«we don’t do samples.» Which could very well be the case; but as someone who works in the service industry… if someone wants to try your soup before they purchase it, and said person already placed a 20 dollar order at your business… make the customer happy. This really bothered me, and it seems really counter productive. The service was awkward, and I didn’t feel like they really cared what I wanted. Don’t know that I’ll give Frisch another try. It’s the little things.

First time trying Frisch today and was BLOWNAWAY! I am NOT a vegan… not even close. But this was not what I pictured as stereotypical vegan food. My only experience with vegan food was a Boca burger with kale chips so I wasn’t expecting much. But a local podcast as well as a guy my husband works with both highly recommended this place so we decided to support a local business. I was not expecting some of the best food I have had in a long time! We were directed to the Full Whitaker Nachos and they did not disappoint. Topped with spicy«chicken» and house-made vegan«cheese» sauce and red sauce, these nachos were divine. They also had brown rice and black beans and a side of salsa. Packed full of flavor I will go back again just to get the nachos! After trying a few bites of the nachos my steak-loving husband was so impressed that he looked at me and said, «We need to try something else!» So we ordered the«chicken» salad wrap. It was just as good as the nachos! It is a generously sized wrap full of «chicken“in some sort of sauce(vegan mayo maybe?) as well as fresh lettuce, sprouts, sliced almonds, and raisins. The sauce had dill in it too which added such great flavor. The giant wrap also comes with a side of crackers in case you were curious. They were good crackers but I don’t believe they are house-made. Such a great local business! The staff were all super friendly and willing to answer any questions we had as we were new to vegan food. The chef/owner even came to our table to say hi and make sure we were happy. You can tell he is super passionate about what he does and all that love is reflected in his food. My husband and I are not vegan and aren’t planning on becoming vegan, but we will definitely be going back to Frisch again!

What is there to say about Frisch, other than I love this place! The owners and staff working here are unbelievably kind and are great conversationalists. They love what they do and it shows in both their attitude and product. Given how close this is to my work, I come here all the time and have never been disappointed. Even if they had a bad day, they have built up enough loyalty with me that I wouldn’t care. I’ll admit that I haven’t had lunch/dinner here in a little while, but my SO(who is vegetarian/trying to be vegan) loves coming here and says the quality is as good as ever. I frequently come in for an afternoon jolt of caffeine or for a mid-morning treat and it seems to consistently brighten my day. The all-day cookies are unbelievably good. The Carrot Cake muffin is delicious(and I assume) better for me than most of what I eat. I sometimes get this Macademia Nut flavored Mocha that is rich and is a great pick-me-up. This is one of my favorite business in Salt Lake City, UT. I honestly do love what they do and hope that even after I leave, they continue to succeed for many years in the future. I know that you must probably hate the saccharine sweet tone of this review, but this place is honestly the definition of five stars.

For those of you that think eating vegan means raw broccoli and sprouts, think again. Frisch has not only some of the most delicious vegan food, but some of the most delicious food, period. The nachos are actually better than most meaty nachos I’ve ever had, their coffee drinks are delicious and it goes on and on. Get your buns in here and taste the difference real compassionate eating is all about.
