Five stars for the Ceviche Mixto. Peruse the accompanying photo and I will elucidate. From 12 o’clock going clockwise: Octopus, a shrimp salad, three plump oysters(somewhat hidden under it’s neighbors), shredded whitefish, more shrimp, cubes of swordfish(I think), a shrimp and salmon civeche, and lastly, a good half a cup of clams. All surrounded by cucumber, tomato and orange slices. And covering the entire plate, under all seafood, was sliced red onion sitting in a beautiful pool of the lime and spice marinade. This meal was light and lovely. And all for only seventeen bucks. For a drink, I had a Michelada. It was a Corona beer mixed with Clamato, with limes and five big shrimp and two raw oysters floating in it. The glass was rimmed with a very spicy rub. They also served free, and exceptional chips and salsa. I must of sat there for at least an hour finishing the meal. To top it off, there was an unobtrusive older gentleman in the corner playing live Mexican tunes on his keyboard. Fun. What an amazing Sunday afternoon lunch. While I will have a hard time not ordering the same thing on my next visit, all the other dishes coming out looked just as ample and appealing.

This place is wonderful. Great place to get your seafood fix in a very delightful manner. The salsa was super fresh. The house hot sauce was addicting. 9 crab legs for eighteen dollars?! Pineapple stuffed with seafood?! These two entrees satisfied three people. My mom said it’s one of the best places she’s ever eaten at. We will definitely come again. Felt great afterwards.

We came here for lunch in search of amazing ceviche after a recommendation from a friend. The place had bright, inviting interior and an authentic look. There were only a few other patrons. We ordered shrimp ceviche, octopus tostada and a few fish tacos. All portions were very generous. Fish tacos, at $ 2.50 each, were the best. I usually don’t like battered fish in my tacos(I prefer grilled) but these are really good. Generous ratio of fish to batter. The ceviche was good, but I’d like to see more shrimp. It was mostly cucumber and tomato. Tasty, but not what we were looking for. The shrimp looked pretty raw, so we were a bit nervous, but they tasted fine and we didn’t get sick after. The octopus tostada was probably the least impressive. Just kind of bland. We were also served a dish of green relish. In my naïveté, I assumed it was cilantro-based«something». I can’t describe the fire in my mouth after a small spoonful. It must have been just ground up hot peppers… Overall, we’ll probably be back to try other things.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. I’m definitely going to be back. The service was okay but the food blew me away.

I checked this place out after finding here on Unilocal,i never would have gone in if i hadnt read about it first. The sign and looking through the window did not attract me at all. I went in on a Friday night and it was dead empty. I walked in and had to find a person and they told me to seat myself, then had to wait a minute or two for them to come out and bring menus, the guy seemed nice, very minimal english. He was timely bringing out salsa while we looked over the very big and confusing menu. Also timely taking our orders and brought our first drinks. After bringing drinks and taking our order though, he disappeared for nearly 30 minutes. Seeing as we were literally the only customers I don’t understand what took so long. When the food came out after a half hour, it was great. The meat tasted great, the rice and beans were good. We finally got a refill on drinks right before we were ready to leave. Food was good but service was terrible.

Michelada heaven on earth. Do yourself a favor and order yourself one… or two. A perfect brunch alternative to the Bloody Mary /Benedict combo.

Wow! This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. We had the Molcajete and it was amazing. It could easily feed four people($ 22 is a steal — they really should raise the price a bit on this). The chips and salsa were so delicious. Great service and awesome prices — I hope more people discover this place. Yum!!!

Quaint, family-owned and operated. Second best salsa I’ve had. Made fresh with great chips. Brother got the chicken burrito twice as big, better and priced the same as places like Baja Fresh or Café Rio. I got the Devil’s Shrimp and I’d do it again. We both left with a meal in a box. Try it out or again.

When economics meets deliciousness… this is what it looks like. Giant bubbling molcajete with layers upon layers of goodness. Throw in a cold Bohemia and we have perfection. Attentive personal service by the owner. An area with kid toys for the little ones to be entertained. Shrine to Mary. Random goodies and trinkets for sale. Had them make a fresh batch of tasty Guacamole for the chips. The molcajete was stacked with shrimp, juicy steak, chicken and nopales, with a bottom hidden layer of molten cheese and tasty juices from the topping melding into a super chip dip. Enough to feed two people twice. Place was spacious and not crowded and the parking spots were plentiful in the lot outside.

This place flat rocks!!! Fresh as you’ll ever find short of a port town, especially for being in the mountains, vibrant, and authentic. Not a single thing we ordered wasn’t «the best we’d ever had». We love Mexican food, and great Salsa often separates the great from the good joints. Their salsa is outstanding! The menu is quite diverse, and unfamiliar to my eyes, which have become too accustomed to Utah, whitebreadized versions of Mexican fare. This place is still legit. They serve WHOLE fish, gills, eyes and all. Please stay away if that’s kind of thing turns you off, leave the good stuff for the rest of us. Go now while they are still undiscovered. We will be telling everyone we know about this place, and they’ll tell two friends, and so on, and so on. It’s that good.

It’s a real shame that this place doesn’t get better business. We went on a Saturday night and the place was nearly deserted. The owners seem to be extremely nice people, who make exceptional food, and don’t know a lot about running a restaurant. The name of the business doesn’t explain that it’s Mexican food/seafood and the signage doesn’t make it crystal clear, either. The place sort of looks closed from the outside, whether its day or night and it’s hard to tell if it’s a pet store, a restaurant or a daycare center. The entry way is clogged with a giant fake plant and a fast food style trash can, which adds to the«closed» look/feel. And, it seems to me, the prices are too low for the amount of food they provide. Lisa and I shared the molcajete with shrimp, chicken and beef. It was $ 22 and it fed us twice! They should either charge $ 30, or shrink it down by 25%. I’m not complaining; I just don’t know how they can survive and make money this way. The food and service were excellent. The salsa has amazing flavor and some nice heat. The molcajete was something I’ll probably have dreams about, and will definitely crave. I’m so glad we found this place, as it’s now our favorite Mexican food in reasonably close proximity to home. I still prefer the place with the killer Mexican food, but Mi Lindo Nayarit is closer to home and there’s no waiting. Hopefully the no waiting thing will change a bit, as word hits the street.

This is definitely a hidden gem here in Salt Lake City. This place has one of the authentic style of cooking food and it is very delicious. This place is definitely a family owned place. The menu they presented to you have so many choices. There’s a seafood galore. There are a lot of pictures also, the pictures looks so good it makes you want to order the entire menu. I ordered the chamoylada and the stuffed seafood pineapple. The chamoylada is beer with chamoylada sauce. It is super delicious and it taste authentically to those made in Mexico. The salt and pepper rim takes it to another level. The stuffed seafood pineapple was delicious. It was a super huge and very rich with cheese. I totally recommend sharing this dish with someone because it really is a huge portion. My friend ordered molcajete and the shrimp michelada. It was a meat galore with shrimp. It was super delicious and on the bottom of the stone pot there is melted cheese. Super delicious!!! That’s all I can say about this dish. All in all, totally recommend this place. The food is authentic, it is delicious and the price it was totally worth it.

Omg I had a panic attack the moment I looked at the menu. Everything looked so delicious. I like seafood so I wanted shrimp. I wanted octopus. I wanted fish. But then, I wanted them raw in Ceviche, but the Soup sounded delicious. Maybe Tostadas? Devil Style? I felt like a kid in a candy store. A kid on valium. In the end, I settled for the Molcajete. I guess the shrimps dangling from the huge stone bowl that is also filled with roasted jalapeños, beef, and chicken sold me off. It’s 22 dollars for two, which is a good deal. The shrimps are really good but it was the beef that surprised me. When I ordered, they told me this dish takes 20 minutes to get the all meats cooked, and I totally understand why now. The sliced beef has this smoky taste, sweet and so juicy I had food orgasm after the first bite. They even tasted good the next day when I had the leftovers. My friend got the Seafood Stuffed Pineapple, so I got my octopus fix anyway. Which is good because had I choke to death right there, my spirit wouldn’t have to linger in this restaurant due to unfinished business. This dish is so heavy with cheese, and guys, I just had a revelation. Cheese + pineapple is a winning combination. It is so delicious! For 18 dollars, it has enough food to actually feed two people. In fact, I would recommend you to share this dish because those cheese could probably give you heart attack if you eat that much alone in one seating. We also had the Michelada shrimp cocktail, just because it looks fun and people have been saying good stuff about it in the reviews. Personally I don’t go gaga over it. This looks good as an ensemble but if you look closely, it is just bunch of shrimp on cucumber and tomatoes and a corona bottle that never leaves the glass. It makes a nice instagram picture though. Overall, I feel the food here deserves a 5-stars. I took away 1-star because the service wasn’t attentive. This looks like a family-owned restaurant and we were served by the daughter who looked like she was doing homework in between attending tables. I mean, it felt cruel to ask her to abandon her education just to serve us water. What would happen to our future generation if I do so? Also when I first sat down, there was an empty Starbuck drink on the table. I want to come here again and try other things. Seafood has never looked so fun on the menu. Especially not in a Mexican restaurant. Plus, the price is cheap to reasonable. I like the ambience as well. They were playing Mexican music and at one point, everybody spontaneously clapped with the music, it suddenly felt like we were somewhere in Cabo San Lucas. Now that would give me a panic attack as well.

Going forward when people say«Buy Local», I will think of Mi Lindo Nayarit. They just don’t make Mexican restaurants like these. Unquestionably, this was a great experience! I ordered the Carne Asada tacos(street-style, $ 1.50 each) and a medium shrimp ceviche for the table, tostadas included. For the tacos, they included a hot green and a milder red salsa, as well as cilantro and chopped onions. The ceviche was a hit! Everything tasted fresh. Rudy was such a nice waiter! Constantly refilling drinks, checking on us, making suggestions and bringing more tostadas when we were running low. He’s the best waiter I’ve had in a while honestly, and for that, he gets the highest praise. Overall, Mi Lindo Nayarit demands the five stars because of all the right reasons! They even had live music… Doin the most and I love it! A great Sunday lunch for family or friends, this is the type of «Local» we need more!

Best. Michelada. Ever. Not sure what a Michelada is? Well, it’s basically a beer spiked with some tomato juice and spices. It’s got a spicy/sour kick to it that I absolutely love, and Mi Lindo Nayarit is on point with this Mexican beer cocktail. They have an option where it’s garnished with shrimp, and it’s basically a small meal. Throw a piece of shrimp on their complimentary fried tortillas with some salsa and prepare yourself for a mini tostada-like piece of heaven. This isn’t your typical Mexican joint. Seafood is their specialty, so don’t go looking for basic south of the border fare. You’ll find parking plentiful in this strip mall. This place even has live music and a kid’s play area.

Just have to say strictly only tried this place because my fellow Unilocalers! Would probably never have tried this hole in the wall. It gives off a preschool vibe with it’s vibrant décor but Oh my hell I’m in love! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood. Best michalada I’ve ever had basically included a shrimp platter with how much shrimp they gave you and super fresh juicy crab legs. Definitely gonna be a regular at this restaurant.

This place is amazing in so many ways. Great food, great portions, great atmosphere, super nice staff and low prices. I have no idea why it is never very busy. People have yet to discover it and while that is great for me it is not great for the owners. Go here for what is really the best Mexican food in SLC today.
