I have a love hate relationship with Bar Louie. Mostly because they just aren’t consistent. Bar Louie claims to have a gluten free menu, so I ask for one. What I get is a piece of computer paper that has out dated menu items. There was very little to chose from, in total about two entrees and a few apps. The remainder of items they considered gluten free were things like a burger with no bun and a sandwich with no bread… silly. I ended up ordering the Fish street tacos. They were actually tasty but they were not a taco at all. What they were was fajitas that you assemble yourself served on one of those sizzling plates. Call it what you want but the description is confusing. Regardless it tasted good. The place was super busy on this particular evening due to a festival in downtown Rochester. We ended sitting at the bar because it was quicker. The bartender wasn’t great, he was really disengaged and oblivious to when we(and others) needed something. So I’d say this experience wasn’t one of my best but the food was decent.

I’ve tried to give this place mutiple chances since they have a great beer selection, however their service is horrid. We just went in and there was a total of 6 customers in the entire restaurant. After about 10 minutes of sitting there with out menus closed and making eye contact with the bartender, we were still waiting to be even greeted. This is no different than all of the other times I’ve been here. I would much rather go somewhere else where the waitresses are dressed respectfully and treat their customers in a respectful manner.

This bar has Horrible service all the time. Last Tuesday my friend and I stopped by to drink a few beers. We sat at the bar. The bartender ignored us for like about five minutes. It was not busy at that time to justified why it took her so long to offered us a drink. Bartender requested my ID. I’m from ABQ, New Mexico so I showed her my New Mexico DL. She reply back«I need to see an AMERICANDL» I said that DL is American DL. She made me show her my college Ids and credit card to proof my identity just to get 1 beer. That is absolutely ridiculous. People don’t waste your time and money in this racist bar.

The day before a holiday, about 25% full, we place our order, then the fire alarm goes off, the staff race out of the dining area, no announcements, they did not even turn the music off, then they filter back out and carry on as if it is not ringing, oh well, maybe that is an unfortunate lapse, the alarm stops, we get our drinks, then the alarm goes off a second time… well, we will show willing… this time it takes about 5 minutes to silence, after 20 minutes we ask the manager where our food is, we are told it is being plated, another fire alarm… food shows up 12 minutes later, temperature can best be described as tepid, the food is not how we ordered it, we explain we not be paying extra for this, we are told«oh we can get you a replacement really quick»… Eye Roll… we eat food anyway as we are hungry, we pay, we go to leave, the lady behind the bar wishes us «Have a Great Holiday»… What is the city ordinance about a building that has a food and liquor license and has the fire alarm go off… Apparently the answer is hide from the patrons, and in the case of the manager go to the other end of the restaurant and straighten chairs… We will not be going back, ever.

Torn on how to rate this place. Been here twice in last week. 1st time was on a bonus 75 degree day after golf on patio. Service just so so. was $ 1 burger Tuesday. Friend tried one and said it was ok. I had only a chip appetizer. Return visit was inside. All 3 of us had the $ 10 burger. Bit overpriced for what u get. Server was very nice but– long wait for just a draft beer, without it being even busy

This place is located a mile from Rochester downtown. I visited this place a couple times and I only enjoyed the outdoor setting. This bar is your typical American sport bar. They serve burgers, wings and some sandwiches. They try to be unique with a few unique sandwiches. The drinks are overpriced; however, they have daily special deals. I would not go back to that restaurant just because I seek unique places. That has been said, I gave the place three stars because the service is good, and the food was okay. If you have no other choice and you do not feel like driving long distance, then I think it is an alright place to dine in here.

Service was really bad, had to wait 30 minutes until I finally could order a beer and something to eat. Took 15 minutes until my beer showed up and another 40 for the food. I ordered spicy chicken, it was a 1 on a scale 1 to 100… It was my first and last time here

What a beautiful day for lunch with a bestie. Needing to pick up my parents for an appointment we decided to come to Bar Louie in Rochester and it being such a beautiful day we decided to sit outside. History will show there were serious mistakes made with these decisions. Our waitress was sweet and very on point, so no issues there. That is the only nice thing I have to say. The bees and flies that populated the patio area was ridiculous. We couldn’t eat with all the swatting going on. But guess what, that was a blessing in disguise because you know what was in the buffalo chicken pizza? A wonderful hair… Yummmmmm! So we mentioned it and we were kindly offered a refill on our pop. WHAAAAAAAT? I was never a fan of this place before and it did nothing to improve that stance. So annoyed.

The pool of water that stands behind the bar is gross. Yet the fact it’s been there for over 6 months and they do anything to fix it yet the bartenders have to walk in all night! I’m pretty sure standing water is health code violation…

My first time there. I really liked the atmosphere. It was very busy at 9:00pm on a Friday night, around 90% full, but due to the large amount of seating inside AND outside, we were seated inside immediately. The service inside for the appetizers and drinks we ordered was decent. Only negative, my waitress seemed a little annoyed and confused when I asked to substitute the liquor that goes in a cocktail with a higher end one. I mentioned that I would be fine if there is an up-charge. She said they don’t substitute cocktails that are on the menu(however, she did end up making it happen). Afterwards, we wanted to go outside for entrees and drinks. By this time, it was nearly 10:00pm and the place had surprisingly cleared out to being only about 25% full(however, it was busier outside than inside since it was a beautiful night). The ambience outside was excellent. We sat at a very nice high top table with a glass-encased fire pit in the middle. In the outside seating area, there was a couple of these tables, along with regular seating, and also L-shaped couches to lounge in a booth-type setting. I ordered the Voodoo Chicken dish(not sandwich). I thought it was very good, but there was only one small chicken breast(along with andouille sausage and peppers). I would have liked to see more chicken. My waitress outside was phenomenal and very friendly. The Moscow Mules I drank throughout the night were tasty and well-poured. I ordered them with Ketel One Vodka and a rocks pour. I would definitely return to this establishment. And I will.

Service was slow, and food is overpriced. The burger was small for $ 11, mayo is extra, and then when she didn’t even bring it till your last bite, she acted like she was doing us a favor by taking it off our bill. Really? Panko fish skewers were ok, nothing special. Won’t be back.

The worst place ever. It is a hookup place for middle aged people and it’s super uncomfortable. Also the workers are dressed like complete skanks and the service is unbelievably slow. Food menu gives you about 10 options that aren’t even that great. Don’t go here!

I’m only giving this place two stars because of the food. The service is a fucking joke, I’ve come the last 3 times and my experiences have been as followed Waiting for the server, it’s taken at least 20 – 30 minutes to even get greeted from a waiter. We got sat at a dirty table(which I knew was a bad idea because they would think we just got finished) but they sat us there anyway and it took like I said, 30 minutes. Waiting for beer and food has taken forever, although the food is very good and they have a nice beer selection, their customer service sucks ass. I just left and my server asked for what I wanted to eat, I told her and she said«what?» In a negative way. I don’t think she meant it but still. when she dropped my check off she stood there and waited. typically if I would be reaching for my wallet or if I had my card out a server would wait until I give it to him/her. She just stood there and looked at me expecting me to just hand it over without even me looking at it or anything.

Love Bar Louie. They have a ton of fun drinks and I feel like their bar food is a step up from most. The only thing that kind of bothers is me is how the waitresses dress. Short shorts and tank tops. I just feel like it is unnecessary, but overall, I usually have a pleasant experience.

Very busy restaurant but horrible service! A friend and I waited 40 minutes to get a table and when we finally sat down, they asked us to switch to a smaller table because the table next to us wanted our table which was bigger. We didn’t mind at all but we didn’t have a waiter for a good 15 minutes and they kept bringing stuff to our table that was for the other table because of the confusion. I’ll give it to them that they were busy but being busy doesn’t mean our waiter had to give us attitude! She didn’t seem to care about us. It seemed as though every time we needed something, we had to ask the other waiters. She brought the bill without asking us if we even wanted anything else. You would think we would get water right away but nope! The only time she was around was when she kept walking by our table to see if we paid for the bill yet. She even said«is everything ok» 5 minutes after the bill was placed on our table. It’s like she wanted us out as soon as possible. Who asks if everything is ok after the bill is out but not before that? We each ordered a salad, drinks and split fries. The salads were good but nothing special. The fries on the other hand are amazing. I know you’d think«they’re just fries» but for some reason their fries have such good flavor and seasoning. Bar Louie gets 5 stars for the fries but 0 stars for service for me.

The drink menu is expansive and expensive I might add $ 9.50 for a glass of mostly ice. I do love their Bruschetta Pomodoro with garlic toast, $ 10ish, more with shrimp. Service is friendly but somewhat slow and place was basically empty, save a couple of tables in the back. Can’t wait for outdoor seating to open up. Tuesdays is $ 1.00 burger night with a drink. Get on their Web site and get a free appetizer. Good atmosphere, we will be back.

Very clean staff friendly. We went for lunch on a Saturday just before noon. Several people were here. Food was hot, well played and good. Had the Backyard Bar B Que burger with tater tots. Quite enjoyable.

We went to Bar Louie for what might amount to our last time. We haven’t had problems before. My wife was craving a good burger and they haven’t really disappointed in the past. We were there on a Sunday night, which apparently is ‘kids eat free’ night. Even so the place wasn’t packed like it has been in the past. Maybe that was an indication of what lay ahead. We ordered some beers and our waitress let us sample two before we selected one which was appreciated. Then we ordered our burgers. I asked for the Blue Louie which has bleu cheese, bacon and hot sauce. She ordered the portabella with the meat patty. I asked for mine medium rare and my wife asked for medium. Then the trouble began. It took a long time to get our food, even though they were, at worst, half full. Finally, the food arrived. My tots were good, her mac and cheese was quite good. But the burgers were both well over done. Easily well done. I don’t complain too much so I kept mine. My wife had a few bites and when the waitress returned asked for another. The waitress said she would do her best and inform the manager on duty. I finished my meal before the next attempt arrived. It was brought with fries, even though she ordered mac and already ate her side. She cut it open while the waitress waited. It was over done again. This was getting crazy. A third burger was requested. The manager arrived to apologize, make amends, sacrifice a cow to the burger gods. I dunno. She comped our meal which was appreciated. She also informed us that the other manager was personally cooking the 3rd attempt. Surely you can see where this was going by now? The burger came rare… which was somewhat understandable… although not what was requested. Worse, it had none of the added fixings. IIRC there’s a special mayo and some balsamic. It had none of this. I sampled the burger but we had enough and left with the remainder in a box. We tipped the waitress even though she told us her gratuity was already covered. She did her best, she couldn’t help what was going on in the kitchen. Moral of the story, managers should manage, not cook. And though the meal was comped in a desperate effort to get us to return, we probably won’t. A burger place that can’t get a medium burger right in 3 tries isn’t for us.
