Applebee’s

Poor service, terrible menu options and not accommodating to vegetarians when eliminating meat out of certain dishes. This place is not very clean either. But some how it pulls in the crowd and I just don’t get it when you examine value, service, quality and cost.

Being a quick and easy choice for a group meal, we have been to this location various times on various nights throughout the year and have yet to have a marginal experience. Something is always off with at least one of the dishes from meat overcooked or cold food or getting something other than what you ordered… and then the wait staff disappear… for the rest of the service. We have had to go to the bar to get ketchup since we couldn’t flag anyone to talk to. I try to avoid this place when and all possible.

Food was great. Great service. Great staff. Great environment. I enjoyed everything about it. Went early in the day so it wasn’t that crowded. Overall I’m satisfied by everything I experienced.

I know what you may be thinking — Applebee’s? 5 stars? Well… I thought the same thing. I had pre-​judgments about this chain, but I was truly wrong.
I came here for an Elite event, and was blown away by the hospitality, high quality food, and upgrades made to this place.
It is run by an independent coalition that can do things a little differently, and what they have done is working!
New menu items, but standard favorites — a fantastic fried shrimp that rivals Bonefish Grille, tasty all-​white meat (no rib) boneless wings, and perfectly crispy yet soft pretzels.
They have overhauled the bar, and turned it into a cocktail dream. Their bar staff are educated on brews, even featuring 6 local beers on tap (not just your standard Miller). New cocktails, new Happy Hour specials and get this– even outlets under the bar!
This Applebee’s has gone through a makeover, and I am impressed.

Basically nothing too special for a chain. Food is pretty speedy, prices fair and customer service is usually worse at Applebee’s for some reason than other places. ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ on customer service, all depends on who you get combined with the time of day etc. I’ll go back, I am sure as Applebee’s has a variety of foods to please most everyone and is located in pretty every town that has a chain place.

I ordered car side to go because I really wanted to avoid going out in this wind anymore than I need to. I ordered brew pub pretzels an burbon street steak. I got there a couple minutes early. I waited patiently for them to bring my food out. 20 minutes later, I was still waiting. I ended up moving my car to a regular parking spot. I went into the the restaurant and told them and they still didn’t have it ready. Ended up leaving more than half an hour later then it was supposed to be done.

Our poor waitress got triple seated when we came in, so I cannot blame her for timely service being an issue. However hostesses should know they should never double or triple seat a waitress when it isn’t busy. The bar maid and manager were doing a lot of running around for the amount of waitresses that were there. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they came out of the microwave. But my long island came out perfect.

I attended the university across the street from this place from 2008 to 2012 and I can honestly say I’ve been to this Applebees more than many of my classes. Less douchey than Friday’s, less bro-​y than the Red Ox, this was the bar of choice for people who wanted to grab several casual drinks and walk back to campus. Half off appetizers leave more money for beer. The only reason I’m not five starring this place is because I don’t believe there is a single vegetarian entré on the menu. The service is usually good as long as you’re not like… a snob. Basically if you’re coming to enjoy a meal with your family or bringing a date to a fancy dinner you might be disappointed (assuming your 11 year old doesn’t like to drink), but if you’re hanging out with friend after/​before class; good stuff. Also, with regards to the staff, they have always been really accommodating. I’ve seen groups of 17 show up and leave happy. Don’t listen to these curmudgeons who had to wait 2 minutes for their lemonades on a busy night.
Oh yeah, and the Beer Pretzels. BEER. PRETZELS.

Was so disappointed with applebees .I’ll never eat at one again. My food looked nothing like the photo in the menu. My salad was fine but so small it was go e i 30 secs My potatoes and steak were cold… I was so hungry I ate a couple of the potatoes while I waited to get my steak heated. When the waitress finally came to the table and took my food she was very nice but just not available or checking on us .My steak came back on a side plate and looked sadder than before .I couldn’t eat it. My daughter’s fish was cold she ate her veggies. My son was happy with his chicken tenders and fries but that’s all he ever eats .I’ve given applebees a couple of chances but it’s always the same story .Don’t waste your time or money here

Always love coming to this applebees for half off apps! The workers are always great. They skimped out on my frozen lemonade tonight though… Didn’t fill it all the way. And it was so yummy! Yikes…

Fast service. Greeted promptly and seated. Waitress was very nice. Not our first time here. It was Friday at 12:25pm. Ordered the Honey Bar-​B-​Que Boneless wings. Good was served hot and was very good.

Always find something that I carve for. The service has always been great.

What the heck Applebee’s, why’d you get rid of the queso?! Are you insane? They’re trying to go out of business with constantly changing the good things about them to poor things. Poor business strategy to me

Food was not cooked right and our bill was supposed to reflect a credit but the receipt did not total. Waited over 20 minutes for someone to come back and fix it. Just left and decided to never come back. The only thing going for this place is the ½ off appetizers and they are one of the few places open late.

Kristin is a great bartender… pretzels are awsome! And yes… they are making me thirsty!

With this place, you know what you’re going to get. It’s decent food, strange décor and atmosphere, with fair prices for the most part. The thing that makes one location stand out over another is the service — it’s what makes or breaks the experience.
Which is why this place isn’t four or five stars — the service is hit or miss here. I had a fantastic waitress tonight, but a couple weeks ago it was so bad I almost didn’t leave a tip. But I can say it is typically a pretty good experience. I would recommend you only come for half off appetizers — it’s an absolute steal.

We came at 11pm on a Friday night and had to wait 15 minutes for someone to even come to our table… And then we never got refills and our food took a while. So my tip– next time bring a tent cuz you might be there for a while.

Eating at this Applebee’s was easily one of the worst dining experiences I have had in my life. I did not really have any high expectations when my party and I decided to have dinner at this location as it was close to our hotel.
My girlfriend and I were «greeted» at the door by a very rude and surly hostess. The restaurant was nearly empty when she sat us down at one of the worst tables in the place. When I asked if we could move to an empty booth by the window, she said «sure» with an attitude, threw the utensils and menus on the table, and proceeded to walk away in an abrupt fashion. You would think that she would be happy to have any type of job in this rough Michigan economy because I highly doubt this woman has any other employable skills.
Our first attempts at ordering were unsuccessful. It seemed like they did not have half the items on the menu. I noticed other patrons at the restaurant ran into the same issue. I ended up ordering the ribeye and my girlfriend had pasta with chicken fingers. The food here was absolutely disgusting! My garlic mashed potatoes were stale and cold, veggies were not fresh and not steamed properly, and my steak had the texture of an old leather shoe — only the shoe would have been more edible and flavourful. That steak must have been either the lowest grade of meat you can buy or it had been cooked the night before and simply reheated. My girlfriend’s pasta was more like a soup with some sort of liquid filling up half the bowl — I know it definitely wasn’t pasta sauce! The best part of the meal was the Pepsi we gulped to wash away the awful taste in our mouthes.
Our waitress was nice enough although she did forget to provide a few things that should have been included in our meal. That’s probably the only nice thing I have to say.
I can confidently say that because of my terrible experience at this Applebee’s location, I will never dine at Applebee’s again. Do yourselves a favor and avoid eating here if you can!

My mom and I came here for dinner the other night, and I have to say, it’s not half bad. The place was half empty, but that’s because it was a Tuesday night. My mom had never been to this before, but I’ve eaten at Applebee’s in the past.
My mom went with the fried Green Beans and I had the Honey BBQ chicken wings. The green beans were okay, but my wings had a bit to much sauce. They were still good and edible, but some were absolutely saturated with sauce, and others were barely coated.
Service here was good, and the menu has a variety of options. I really enjoy their appetizer sampler plate, where you get the spinach dip, the egg rolls and chicken wings. Love it! I just didn’t feel like eating that much food when I was here, so that’s why I switched dishes.
Overall, good place. Would come here for happy hour or for any random occasion. Full bar, happy hour specials, and plenty of seating.
