I’ve purchased their family meal that includes two meats and 3 sides along with barbeque sauce(outstanding) and 6 dinner rolls. It’s enough food to feed 4 – 5 hungry adults. The sides we like are: Baked beans with jalapeño, mac and cheese and the green beans with bacon. It’s very fast service if you don’t want to wait. The brisket and polish sausage with cheese were excellent.

How does a Rib Joint run out of ribs?! Stopped at Dickeys in Rochester on my way home from golf. Granted, it was 8:30 on a Monday evening and they close at 9, but when I asked how many ribs were included in the rib plate I was told 5 but that they were sold out of ribs. Right before that I had heard him tell another customer they were sold out of creamed spinach. I’m not a restaurant expert, but I think if you are a BBQ restaurant you are better off cooking a few too many ribs than not enough. i think the small amount of potential waste would be less $$ than potential future lost business. Anyways, I decided to get sliced brisket(wasn’t really a decision since that was my only choice) with baked beans and caesar salad to go. I only live about 5 minutes away from the restaurant. When I got home and started eating, the brisket was mushy, fatty and cold(clearly the scraps left over from the day). The caesar salad was actually a house salad with a side of caesar and included some yummy brown lettuce. The roll was mediocre. The beans were average which was the best part of the meal. The workers were nice but obviously the management is lacking at this location. There are much better options in the area. Unfortunately, I won’t be going back to this Dickeys any time soon.

I used to really like this place. When you entered the restaurant you’d get hit with that awesome smokey bbq smell. During my recent visit yesterday there was no awesome smell. Did they change their process? Maybe they just weren’t smoking any meat at the time. Not sure, but the big bbq pulled pork sandwich I got was almost tasteless. I had to dump on a ton of bbq sauce to give it flavor. Also, awhile back they used to offer a free pickle spear which was cool. They stopped doing that, not a deal breaker but still. I also noticed there was no free ice cream machine. I asked one of the workers there about it and he said it broke, but they won’t be fixing it cause corporate is removing the machines from all of their stores in a few months. That sucks. So the bland food(maybe it was just a bad batch?) coupled with the no free ice cream means I won’t be going back to what was previously an awesome fast food type bbq place, which used to have more of a high end quality food. Also the onion tanglers which I have always liked had an odd burned flavor to them. It sucks that a good restaurant goes cheap and ruins it. And this place isn’t cheap.

I’ve been here a few times. This is the best BBQ I’ve ever had! I love the brisket, potato casserole and Mac and cheese. The sauces are good as is the sweet tea. Service was fine. Highly recommend.

Barely OK, to my taste. Over-eager greeters, horrific mac & cheese(globs of processed cheese-like product, not actual cheese), and the meat has obviously been treated with papaya or pear to break down the meat fibers(instead of roasting it low and slow to earn its tenderness). The texture, therefore, is on the mushy side. They are fast, friendly, and aim to please; probably meet the needs of most folks, but if you are a discerning eater, I’d pass.

Things are being run much better more recently. I used to have problems with orders being wrong, but that hasn’t happened in a few months. The food is great. Their gift cards are working again as well. So happy they’re back up to a high standard.

We usually go to Dickeys every Sunday because its buy one adult meal one free kids meal. When we got there, we ordered a sandwich and a kids meal chicken meat plate with a side of green beans. When the green beans came out, I was not impressed. First they gave me baked beans. The baked beans were too salty and there was too much soup. The color was mud brown. They had no more chicken and my kid was so disappointed with that. She just ordered a beef meat plate that she didn’t like. The only good thing about that place is that it’s cheap, they have a nice drinking system, and that the ice cream is self serve and comes with the meal for free. The bad thing is that it’s small, the food isn’t always good, and that the waffle fries are good. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you want good ribs, which are pretty pricy for a half plate of ribs.

The food is decent but the pulled pork is pretty tasteless. The meat is good quality, cooked perfectly but doesn’t have much flavor. I enjoy getting a combo platter but feel the food is slightly over priced as compared to what you would get at say The Woodshop in Clarkston where you not only get a larger portion but also table service. The sides are typical — smashed redskin casserole(which tastes like instant potatoes doctored up), mac and cheese, greens, etc. The best value for the dollar which does force us to return are Sundays — kids eat free with an adult purchase. They also have a pretty awesome soft serve ice cream machine that adults and kiddos alike indulge in as a compliment to the meal price. Can’t have one too many baby ice cream cones.

Great barbecue at solid prices! They run a daily special every day of the week for ten bucks and it comes with a drink and 2 sides. A sub combo is going to cost that, or more. My personal favorite is the spicy cheddar sausage and jalapeño beans.

Bad Brads BBQ was the place for BBQ or so I thought? I had the opportunity to order Christmas Night dinner from Dickey’s in Rochester and I was pleasantly surprised to find a moister more flavorful brisket and a better tasting BBQ sauce. The sides were also very good the loaded bake potato casserole was outstanding and the green beans were awesome, mac and cheese was just ok but the mac and cheese from Brads isn’t great either. I wish that Dickey’s offered greens but that being said Dickey’s is the place for BBQ in my book. Billy and Zach were very friendly and know their Brisket, keep the smoker going guys cause you smoke the competition!

I haven’t even left yet, and I feel ill. The ribs are almost inedible. The chicken is dry. The coleslaw was bland. The ham was just okay. The nuggets were rejected. The rolls were flat and went ignored. The pickle and onion side was literally 2 dill pickle slices and a raw slice of white onion. The sweet tea is average. The sauces were good, especially with the yummy pulled pork. The mac n cheese was a hit. I didn’t trust the front counter guy, who claimed the ice cream is dairy free(the website says otherwise). Nope. I opened a cabinet and read the ingredients. There is a milk derivative. Oh well. The kids who can eat it like it. I don’t plan to return.

I love Dickey’s! I discovered them a few months ago at their other location in Troy, and stopped in today to grab a bite to eat. Being that it’s the 4th of July, nothing tastes better then some good olé BBQ! I went with my usual Brisket Sandwich with a drink and a side. I tried the onion rings, and they were a bit salty, but good overall. The Brisket was delicious overall, and I just love coming here. It’s a fast casual kind of place, and I’m happy that their open here. It’s in a real nice shopping area, so there’s plenty to do afterwards. Another perk is that they have daily specials here, so if your not sure what to get, check out the daily special board. I’ve ordered off it before, and it’s really a good deal. Staff is friendly and attentive, prices are fair, and overall a good place to go and grab a quick bite to eat. Not over done, and really a good spot.

Love love love this place. Way better than some«other» places. The owner greeted us and was very friendly. My kids dig the free ice cream machine so I am sure we will be back frequently. The atmosphere makes me feel like I am at a local place in Texas somewhere although the service could be a bit quicker. It seems to take too long to get your food at times. Overall, one of my favs!

My coworkers and I came to lunch here the day before the grand opening. Oops. The manager opened the doors for us and let us try the delicious BBQ items. He expressed his love to be a community business and was very gracious. However, after they opened, I came back for a less than stellar visit. I waited in line for 21 minutes before being served, then another 11 minutes for my pulled pork sandwich. The description said my sandwich came with pickles. Apparently that means 2 small slices. The staff was running around crazy with no manager in sight and definitely no leadership. The cones for the free soft serve were stuck and there was no one around to help the sad children. I’m not sure if I will be back…

Had a pull pork sandwich combo meal, it was excellent. Good variety of BBQ sauces(3) which is enough. FYI: It’s more setup for a fast good type but better than any burger joint.
