Having just moved to the Quincy area, I was immediately in search of takeout places in my immediate area since it takes a little while to unpack all my cookware and get the kitchen in working order. As such I saw that J’s had a lot of good reviews so decided to give it a go. I absolutely love wonton soup and usually judge a Chinese takeout place on this soup. I’ve orders the large every time now and am thoroughly pleased. The wonton skins are a little mushy, but not terrible. There are a variety of vegetables and a good portion of pork as well. Last time I got a combo of pork lo mein, boneless spare ribs, and fried chicken wings. I know, I know… my inner fatty was really out to play. The lo mein, as seen in some pictures, is indeed swimming in a pool of grease. But let’s be serious, you need to expect that given the food you ordered. The second time around I ordered the marco Polo combo, which was basically pork fried rice and lobster sauce(with shrimp and ground pork… or beef I dunno) over a bed of lo mein noodles. It also came with a side bag of boneless spare ribs. This is my new go to meal! Also gonna mirror what others have said, the portion size is HUGE considering the price. Definitely two meals in one!

Hands down the best Chinese in Quincy. Delivery is super fast and food tastes fresh. The steamed dumplings(or steamed Peking raviolis) are out of this world, look/taste homemade. Pork fried rice is flavorful, General taoas has a different taste with a kick. If you live in Quincy, this should be your goto for Chinese.

Ordered takeout, nothing spectacular, but good americanized chinese food. If you’re hungry, try it!

Horrible fried rice and spring roll. Spring rolls was very oily. Dropping oil from it. Will never eat from there

Not sure what the big hype is about. If you want Chinese-American take-out appetizers, yeah, they’re good for that but their entrée dishes are definitely not my fave. It’s too salty and beef taste weird. Chicken curry lo mein lacked in flavor, chicken, and veggies. I literally got four pea pods and a quart of a chicken breast in a large chicken curry lo mein. The great thing is this restaurant opens late and has an online ordering system. Street parking is available. They accept credit cards. If you’re drunk from clubbing in Boston and craving for Chinese-Americanize food, this is not the place for you unless you get all appetizers.

I barely order Chinese take out but we were craving for some out of the blue one day. We ordered a Tidbid #2 combo and a chicken with vegetables rice plate to share. Honestly I wasn’t expecting that much but once we picked up the order and took it back home, we were surprised how good it was. Not only that, the portions were pretty big as described by other reviews. The food was fresh and delicious and it was enough to feed both of us. So far, we’ve been ordering from here a few times and we have gotten chicken fingers, boneless spareribs, four happiness special, and fried bean curd with vegetables rice plate. There wasn’t a time when we were disappointed in our food. Sometimes we questioned if they gave us the wrong size because the portions were huge since we’ve been getting small appetizers. For the price and quality, if you’re craving for some quick Chinese take out, I would recommend coming here. The service was good too and the people working there were friendly which is rare in a Chinese restaurant unfortunately. But one thing I would have to say is that if you request utensils and plates, check to make sure that you get them since most of the time they either forget or just don’t give it to you.

For a takeout place this place is aces. I’ve yet to order something that wasn’t good. The sesame beef in particular is addictive. Crispy and sweet, but not too sweet, the way that dish is meant to be.

Lobster sauce, crab rangoon and hot and sour soup are my faves here. So good every single time. They put some sort of pickled vegetable in their hot and sour soup and I’ve never seen other places put, makes it so yummy. The lobster sauce is always consistent and flavorful. Can’t go wrong with any of these. Their salt and spicy spare ribs are good too.

Limited menu but fresh and made to order. Large portions and great taste. Standard american chineese food but a great option for take out open late too

Pretty sure I’ve had most of the menu. Everything is just good here. I don’t know how to elaborate past that.

Came home from work exhausted on a Monday night and craving chinese take-out. After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I ordered lobster sauce(I think the meat was ground pork), white rice(really wish they had brown!), and yu hsiang broccoli. DELISH!!! This was my first time ever having lobster sauce so I don’t have anything to compare it to but I liked it a lot. The broccoli was also awesome. It was still crunchy(I hate mushy veggies) and doused in garlicky/sweet/spicy sauce. I ordered around 9:30 — 9:40, and they gave me a delivery time of 10:20. The food came at 10:15 and piping hot!!! Huge points for that. And the man who delivered it was very nice and polite, and even though he was at my doorstep, he called my phone instead of ringing the doorbell. Whether it was intentional or not, I appreciated it since it was so late and the doorbell would’ve woken up a sleeping puppy and boyfriend! I will definitely be ordering from here again on my next chinese crave night!

Beef teriyaki was nearing the consistency of jerky, and sczeshuan chicken is lacking in flavor. It’s true they give hefty portions, I ordered a small of everything and at other places this is what I’d get for a large. But that would only be a plus if I wanted to eat it more.

I eat here frequently, and not only because I live conveniently very close to the restaurant. The food is phenomenal(I highly recommend the curry chicken) and very reasonably priced. Great proportions for what you pay. I’m also very happy with the service. Everybody there is friendly and always a pleasure to talk to. I give the food and service five stars!

Dang! This place is NOT messing around in portion sizes. We ordered dinner entrees and apps, and they are HUGE. I got the pu-pu platter for three people(and at this point we were pretty drunk and STARVING) and we still weren’t able to put all the food down. We had a lot of leftovers. It’s greasy, perfect, yummy food-kind of similar in taste to Kowloon’s(Spelling?) on RT1. We ordered off of Foodler and delivery was above average in the time it took to arrive. I would definitely order from here again!

I’ve been back quite a few times in recent weeks and must say, this place has really improved. I don’t know if it was a matter of working out the kinks when they first opened or if they got new cooks along the way but overall, it’s been great. The consistency is there now, the fried rice no longer reminds me of the 80’s and everything has been fresh and flavorful. The lobster sauce is stellar. The kung pao chicken is spicy, perhaps a tad too spicy(niece couldn’t eat the fried rice from my plate because of the spice level) but at least it has flavor now although I really wish they would stir in the peanuts rather than just throw a handful on top! Crab rangoons still need work imo as they are too cheesy, but the egg rolls are the best in the city. On the soup front, if you ever want a cheap, filling lunch, get the pork roasted wonton. It is loaded with pork, and veggies along with 4 wontons. It’s definitely worth checking out and it’s really affordable. Try the pick 4 for $ 9.50 or one of the rice plates for the best value!

We’ve checked out just about every Chinese restaurant around and this one is at the top of our list. You can order online — which I realized after placing the order. The phone service was great, delivery was prompt, and the food was very, very tasty! We have three discriminating palettes here and all of us rated the food on the high end of the spectrum. We got Sesame Beef and it was delicious. I recently had a very bad experience elsewhere(Lucky Dragon) where the beef was not even chewable because it was so wrought with gristle. This Sesame Beef was of decent quality and was flavorful. We also got Beef Teriyaki and that, too, was really good. So were the Boneless Ribs. The Chicken Lomein was also excellent. The only controversy was the egg roll. I thought it was delicious, but another in our party did not like a «spice» in it. There was nothing out of the ordinary and I think the spice he was referring to was«cabbage». :) Would definitely order from here again — especially with only a $ 2 delivery fee(plus tip) makes it so convenience and easy to order online and await your hot food on a cold night. Because we don’t use Duck Sauce and I don’t like to waste, I told them not to give us any. They were appreciative and compensated the lack of Duck Sauce with lots of fortune cookies! I’m anxious to try some of their other offerings like Moo Shi Pork and Egg Foo Young next time around…

(Sigh) Why can’t I find halfway decent Chinese food fairly close to Home ? The dude that greeted me was coughing, and it didn’t sound like a smoker’s cough. I am not in the restaurant business and am not sure whether or not one is supposed to wear gloves while handling raw chicken, but the barehanded prep going on in the back looked a little funky. Hot and sour soup most uninspired. Worse, my stomach has been a little upset and gurgling since consuming it, and no I am no making this up. I would be delighted to find a close place that was ok enough, and this one struck out.
