This shave ice place is FANTASTIC! The flavors are so good, I had melona and mango with ling hi mui powder on top and a scoop of Mac nut ice cream. Melona flavor was an excellent surprise! Highly recommend!

We came looking for a great place for shaved ice and we found it. The service was great, awesome flavors and price was very reasonable. We left happy and full.

I love shave ice. But what I love more is the aloha spirit that is served up with it. The lady working the counter here today was clearly bothered by our opting for her counter today. Her attitude sent my wife for ice cream. We will go for ice cream when she is at the counter.

Have been here 3 times already on this trip and still want to go back for more! On this hot, humid island, nothing has been as refreshing as shave ice. The portions are huge and a small is even large enough for 2 to share. The flavors aren’t too overpowering and sweet. Get the coconut milk snow cap for $ 0.50 extra… it makes it just creamy and decadent enough to feel like you’re indulging without being heavy.

Awesome little place. The lady working there was super friendly and the shave ice was just great. Just be careful if you try to drink the juice in the bottom of the up. It’s very sweet! This place is a little hard to find in the shopping complex, but it’s worth it. Great job folks.

My son and i came to enjoy our treat on 08−22−15 at 525pm. The shaved ice was great and similar to the several other places we had it on the island. The large was bigger than all the others. The female employee, wearing plastic gloves, took several orders with a pen and paper. She was exchanging money(cash and coin), several times, prior to making a shaved ice by forming it with the same gloved hands. Ive never been so tempted to remove my tip from the jar! She kept the same gloves on while she made several smoothies and shaved icees. I watched her do this two rounds as we ate our treat. There was a lull during which she removed the gloves. She then took money and gloved up, how she should always do!

I don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews. Perhaps it was timing. We ordered 2 rainbow, 1 coconut, 1 shake. The rainbow ice was not packed enough and was flat by the time she handed it to us. The shake was unbearable I had to toss it after drinking 10% of it. Even my son who will eat anything sweet, my mother who hates to throw anything away all agreed to toss it. The bill was $ 19.50. Total waste. To top it all the smell of the trash next to the tables was overwhelming. Never going back.

This is the first shaved ice we tried decades ago during our first trip to Kauai. It’s good to know that it’s still here and still serving pretty good shaved ice. They still don’t offer too many flavors and add-ons. Ice cream is $ 3 extra. It’s a bit pricey compared to other shaved ice spots. Come here if you are hankering for some shaved ice and you don’t want to go too far from the Princeville area. Otherwise, drive out to Kapaa or elsewhere for more reasonable options.

I just ordered an original with cherry flavoring. $ 4 for a small(which I thought was a large). It was a great treat after our big hike.

This is the best shave ice in Kauai. The names says it all. Especially if Liang is making it for you. My wife love her special macadamia nut lover made by Liang. Me and my kids enjoyed the shave ice as well. Definitely will be back here again for more. Mahalo sistah Liang for making our smoothie and shave ice.

Cannot wait to come back to Kauai:)

Yes it was! Or at least def on the north shore. The ice is soft and flaky. The flavors are fresh and taste wonderful! Reminded us of Ululani in Maui

This is definitely the best shave ice we’ve tried on the island. The syrups are super sweet and made with real sugar. The ice is so soft and fluffy. Service is always great. Make sure to get the mac nut ice cream on the bottom and the condensed milk«snow cap.» Mmmmmmmm.

Kauai’s best shave ice? Maybe not. But this is definitely a solid shave ice place in Kauai — one of the better ones. It seemed like it was one of just a few in Princeville. Their shave ice is quite finely shaved, which I appreciate, and their flavors were solid. Definitely get condensed milk added to your shave ice, regardless of what flavors you choose — it makes it taste so. much. better.

Gosh. I love this shave ice tradition, and would love to live in a place where the weather would make it appropriate most days of the year, year round, to enjoy an delicious icy treat. Sigh. At Kauai Best Shave Ice, the making happens right out in the open and the machine whips up plenty of fluffy, light flakes and they offer nice sized portions. The small is actually quite big and you’ll be able to see the shave ice being worked first hand, which is a big part of the fun. The main challenge for me at Kauai’s Best Shave Ice was the intense sweetness of the syrups. Now all shave ice syrups are sweet, but believe me when I say some are very, very sweet and some have a more mellow sweetness. At this part of our shave ice journey, Kauai’s Best Shave Ice seemed very, very sweet. Overly so. Almost exactly like I’d imagine a frozen Sweet tarts candy might taste. I should point out they make syrups that they say don’t contain any corn syrup, and instead use pure cane sugar. Well good on them for that! If you love your shave ice fluffy, and super-duper sweet, then this may be the spot for you.
