Absolutely outstanding food. This is a walk-up, order-at-the counter type of place. There is no indoor seating, but a lovely covered courtyard with tables and chairs. We’ve been two nights in a row and there was music each time. We had the kids taquitos(excellent, homemade), kids bean burrito(stuffed, then pressed to make the tortilla crispy — kids loved it.) We also enjoyed the salsa on the salsa bar, included. Breakfast burritos were great; good size portions, with fruit and cornbread on the side, for $ 9 – 10. Nothing seemed pre-made or frozen. Everything was very fresh. Great place to take a family with kids, because they have their choice of Asian(the place next door) or Mexican, no waiting for a table, a waitress, the food, the bill(you know the drill). We’ll definitely be back.

Ok «island time» is charming but this is ridiculous. This place is SOOOSLOW. We waited 40 minutes for walk up Mexican. Food was pretty good but the experience was ruined by terrible slow service.

This was an ok’ish Mexican place i found, I am not an expert for Mexican food, so i probably shouldn’t comment to much about it. I had a breakfast and it was pleasant. The location is kind of nice as it’s a yard with a couple of small places. One can get food from either and just sit there. There was a man(randomly) playing guitar and therefore the atmosphere was great. One of the big downsides for me is, that this place is handing out plastic knifes and forks. Besides that it makes a really cheap experience for eating no matter how good the food is, i find it disgusting as it’s a completely not necessary waste of resources. Hawaii is all about organic local food, and a lot about environment so this just doesn’t match.

Fairly good Mexican food, but not sure I’d go back. Enchilada wrap is good, though you know on the first(and last.) bite that you should hit the gym tomorrow. Nachos were meh, weird combo of melted cheese sauce and melted shredded cheese. Service was very nice though and conveniently located if you are staying in Princeville. Maybe I’ll try again if I’m in a pinch…

VEGANINHAWAII: Vegetarians and vegans, this is a safe place for us. I ordered the veggie burrito, no cheese, no sour cream, no rice. It was quite delicious. The cashier was very accommodating and patient. My(very large) family ate here once, and they handled our huge order efficiently. I continued to return day after day for the week I was in Kauai. The burrito’s veggies and beans tasted freshly prepared. Service was friendly. The general atmosphere is casual and laid back.

Great customer service by the young lady who mans the counter and delivers the food to the table. Consistently good food for a reasonable price. We always take the family here!

Yummo. Carne asada tacos and rosarito tacos were delicious. Kids portion was ample as well. Salsa bar a bonus and great location. Pricing a bit steep but hey look where you are.

Pros: big, delicious tacos(tried the steak, shrimp and fish); kid meals; a relaxed laid back vibe; a salsa bar. Cons: a little pricey(duh, Hawaii); aggressive chickens and rooster who will steal your food(watched a chicken snag a burrito off someone plate!); have to pay for chips. The pros outweigh the cons for sure. This is a great place but make sure you look up the hours. We were let down when it wasn’t open on Sunday late afternoon.

Was needing food after a night of drinking and no dinner. Had the chorizo and egg burrito and it was very good. Although the chorizo was not very spicy, a little of their hot salsa on top made it all good. Good size portions also. Would come back again and maybe try lunch.

We had the huevos rancheros for breakfast and I have to tell you it was delicious!!! The little side of cornbread was a little gem of a thing! And their fresh juice combo was fantastic! Service could have a little cheerier vibe but other than that I loved it!

Food was tasty, price was fair for the area, however we ordered just 1 taco each(one fresh fish faco and one carne asada taco) and it took over 30 minutes, the slowest food we experienced in Kauai! Don’t go there with an appetite. They do not accept AmEx, which isn’t super unusual, just heads up. Outdoor court yard eating in a little shopping area.

If you’re craving Mexican food while on Kauai, this is an OK spot. It’s small and gets crowded when ordering but plenty of outdoor seating. Staff is super friendly and accommodating.

Amazing Mexican food. The beans are fresh, the rice is home cooked. Living in New Mexico, I can tell. We had the wrapped chicken enchilada which was amazing because it has so much cheese and is fresh and delicious. We also had the 3 taco combo and the portion was ample with great flavors. The salsa bar tops things off. Today’s aquas frescas flavor was berry and too was also amazing. Wish we didn’t find this place on our last day on island.

Food is just so so. Way overpriced for what it is. Staff not overly friendly. Not a lot of options I guess at Princeville Center.

I had the Ricos Huevos Rancheros(beans, chorizo and an over easy egg on top of 2 crispy corn tortillas, topped with cheese, red & green sauce & a saloon of sour cream) OMG it was AMAZING! Spicy for a wimpy white girl, but sooooo worth it. Honey got the breakfast quesadilla(eggs, ham, poco de Gallo & cheese melted together in a flour tortilla) he said was pretty good, but frankly I thought mine looked better. This was a short walk from the Westin where we stayed, and we WILL be doing this again. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I try to save those for over-the-top places

My overall experience here wasn’t great because I got a attitude from the lady working the register. She had a take it or leave it attitude and wasn’t helpful. The cashier was rude. I asked what kind of avocados are used for their guacamole and she was irritated by that and just said«hass». When I asked to see the avocado, it was a local avocado and NOT hass. She was bothered by my asking and the reason I asked is b/c the only avocado you can use to make guacamole is hass. Needless to say, don’t order guacamole here. They are also very stingy here. Small drinks are in a cup smaller than what they serve kids at McDonald’s. Even though fountain drinks are almost always free refill, they keep machine behind counter to ensure you do not get a free refill. Even the small plastic cups for sauces are hidden behind a counter and you have to ask to get one. The pico de gallo was old and not fresh. Quesadilla ordered was greasy and soggy. My wife enjoyed her fish tacos. I love Mexican food and eat it often. I wouldn’t eat here again.

Buddies and I were here last week when staying at The St. Regis. There seems to be a very small selection of restaurants in this area. Seems to be more restaurants closer to the airport. Anyways, we figured this is the only Mexican restaurant nearby and decided to come here. I ordered the taco salad with chicken. It was ok. A buddy ordered a chicken Caesar. He said it was good. I have to say that the entire scenario on the island(when it came to restaurants) was a blur. The Mexican Coke was good. I ate about ½ of my taco salad and was pretty much done. Maybe next time I’ll try a burrito here.

Got a chicken quesadilla for about 12 $, the service was nice and the food came quick with a side of chips, guacamole and sour cream. Not the best quesadilla I’ve ever had but definitely good! Went back and got the cheese quesadilla which was also good!
