Totally agree w review by Molly H. Food was delivered to our table one hour after placing order. Salad for me, burrito for the hubby! Salad had 4 nice size shrimp and plateful of mixed greens. Worth $ 18? Nah! Beer was barely chilled. Charged for 3 but only ordered 2. Check your bill! Lots of better places in the area so don’t settle. Staff was friendly and apologetic about the wait and mistakes so that’s worth something!

I’m actually surprised a place like this is still in business. Service was really slow and the food was terrible. A beet salad is just canned beets over bagged coleslaw. Quesadilla wasn’t cooked through and the cheese wasn’t melted. There are too many good food choices in the area to waste time and money here.

We were starving after a long hike. We stopped at Neide’s because of how charming the outdoor tables looked. We found a table overlooking the rainforest/jungle. We did not think of coming to Kauai for Brazilian cuisine but were pleasantly surprised by this little jewel. The menu is 50⁄50 Mexican, Brazilian. We noticed that all the patrons around us went with the Mexican items. Although big fans of Mexican food, we went totally Brazilian with the Churrasco. We ended up sharing this dish after getting additional information from our server. Initially we were unsure about sharing given how hungry we were. It was the right move. The dish had a steak, chicken and a sausage with side dishes of white rice and black beans and heaps of crunchy, shoe-string fries. Our server was lovely and brought us a spicier/hotter sauce when we requested it. This habanero sauce was DELICIOUS — yes, all in caps.

5 of us stopped here to have lunch while on vacation. The outside area is a little beat up, so by the look of it you would never guess the food would be so good! All of us really enjoyed everything we ordered. I had the shrimp and fish enchiladas with rice and black beans and it was incredible! I highly recommend it!

Stopped by for lunch around noon on December 26. Seemed like they only had one waitress working. She walked by us few times without looking at or acknowledging us. Finally we were seated. She came back after five minutes and said by the way we are out of fish. What kind a place in Kauai runs out of fish by noon? Decided to leave at this point.

The food here is authentic Brasilian cuisine. I can only guess that either some reviewers don’t know what that is or they were jealous of how good the food is. It’s less salty than in Brasil, but there is salt on the table if you want more. The steak and chicken smothered in onions with rice and beans hit the spot and made my wife feel right at home. The service is very good and they are quite friendly. If you want some real food to offset the typical vacation food, this is a great spot. Enjoy!

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Ahi and shrimp muqueca was crazy good. The sauce with the fresh caught ahi tuna and sauce mix perfectly for the best dinner in Hanalei Bay! People are very friendly, too. Burritos and crepes are pretty good as well. I was blown away!

Ee were unsure when arriving: «should I stay or should I go?» But at the end of the day, it was a good pick for the lunch. Yes, this is a small place with one person in the kitchen, one person serving but the service has been nice and not as lengthy as described in other comments(however, the place might have been less crowded). Food was good and I recommend the Caipirinha cocktail!

Nice view, a small area of outside seating, great customer service, and the food is good. *Kind of pricy, no coffee not a huge menu, but OMGosh, the coconut flan is amazzzzing!!!

Not sure why the low reviews but I had a great experience. The lady that worked there was very nice and very attentive. I give her 5 stars for service. There is also a very beautiful view. If you look closely in my pictures, you can see waterfalls. The food was also very delicious. I think I came during happy hour and they have good island drinks. The salad I ate was like one of the best I’ve eaten in my entire life. Had succulent shrimp in it

My mother and I were on a vacation. Having driven for 4 hours in 90+ degree weather, we needed a cold beer and a light late lunch. We intended going to a neighboring place but it was closed. They suggested this restaurant: luckily they offered happy hour(discounts on drinks only). What made this experience 5 stars? Pleasant I and prompt service, garlic prawns cooked just right, beautiful presentation, and eye-popping scenery from their patio seating. Aside: restrooms are all the way around the building.

After a wonderful day at the beach, we stopped by this great little restaurant. We were a little hesitant after reading the reviews about slow service, however when we arrived at 6:30 with a party of 5 we were immediately seated outside. We had an incredible view of the mountains and were promptly served Mai Thais and delicious nachos. Our server Tom was great and provided excellent service. The shrimp platter, fajita wrap, and shrimp with coconut sauce were all delicious. We would definitely recommend this great place to anyone passing through Hanalei!

I’m not quite sure what to say. Waited over an hour and a half for our meal. Quite a few tables with one server and one cook. makes for a pretty lame experience. When we actually got our meals, the food was fine, but not exceptional. Several. other groups just left the restaurant after equally long waits. I was really looking forward to enjoying a meal here based on suggestions from friends who have eaten there before. I’ll never go back. 2 stars only because the food was decent when we did finally get it. Sooo disappointed.

Fish tacos were on the lunch menu, «market price». Never saw that before for tacos! I asked the kind of fish and the price. Ahi tuna, $ 18. High price for 2 tacos. Seemed like the waitress thought up a arbitrary price. I asked for no cheese. Tacos were very small, came with cheese, and fish so overcooked it was dry. Waitress murmered an apology for the cheese. Definitely not worth the price. I asked for hot sauce. Waitress brought some sauce, more on the sweet side than hot. Another person at our table ordered a fish salad, also ahi tuna. Asked for no cheese. Fish was also overcooked and salad came with cheese. I’ve been to this restaurant several times on the past and it used to be so much better.

I had the seafood enchiladas which were amazing. Red sauce with seafood is sometimes a gamble but this was delish. Husband ordered chimichanga which was okay. Fried chicken appetizer was missing a nice soy or sweet and sour sauce. Had a Mai tai which was great. The views here are to die for. It rained most of the morning and the night before. We could see 6 rainfalls from our outdoor seats. Total cost for 4 plus appetizer and 3 alcoholic drinks was $ 160.

Good food, very real and hardy. If you hike and camp like us this worked awesome. I am a vegetarian so I only had the veggie options, but I loved everything I ordered. I would describe it as subtly different from Mexican Food. I think I tasted garlic in the rice. Its average priced for vegetarian but I can not say for other dishes. The atmosphere is cool. It looks out onto the nicest of views of the mountains and forest. You sit outside in a covered courtyard but can sit on the edge and watch the beauty of the islands. We went there four times while on the rainy side of the Island. Also the waiter we had each time is so nice and we loved when we were there during slow hours just to chat for a min.

The food at Neide’s was disappointing. We were expecting something at least slightly different or exotic given that it’s billed as a Brazilian restaurant. We ordered the chicken panquecas and fish tacos, and what we got was acceptable but consistent in quality to the food we got from the(somewhat ironically named) Hanalei Gourmet. Adding insult to injury, the food at Neide’s was quite expensive for what it was(a touch under $ 20 per dish), and the service was borderline rude. Not recommended.

FOODPOISONING! If I EVER have a worse restaurant experience than this I will be beyond surprised. Visiting Kauai, we assumed we could walkin a Tuesday to BarCara a and upon arrival we were informed no seats were available… so we got a referral to this joint. YIKES! Table of 7 we were sat immediately. Stale chips, salsa that tasted like canned tomato paste and ‘guacamole’ which was clearly Wholly-Guacamole. Ordered various drinks but the most pitiful was the margarita. Water water water and lime juice. Our waiter was kind until we requested simple things like water, napkins and share plates. Quickly flipped and was quite unfriendly. I hope nobody has this dining experience. I won’t even elaborate on the entrees but needless to say there was a trip to the bathroom and 7 very dissatisfied customers tonight.

We tried to get into Bar Acuda without luck and ended up here instead. I was worried about the lack of clients in the restaurant(Bar Acuda was full), but we got very good service and the food, while nothing special, was decent. We had the chicken quesadilla and the nachos with cold beer.
