Kenwood, CA
Renting a condo nearby? This is your only shopping center. Wait ’til you experience the parking lot mayhem. Too few spaces for way too many tourists.
Come for Foodland to stock up the condo fridge. Then pretty much ignore every place else. Why? Check out fellow Unilocalers reviews of the restaurants. Lots of reports of mediocre food served by resentful employees.
I’ve been to 2. Wouldn’t return.

Pricey tourist center but has everything you might need. Gas, jewelry kiosks, souvenirs, mailing center, Foodland, ice cream shop, Ace hardware.

We stayed in Kileua. The princeville grocery was the closest place to shop and its a pretty drive. The grocery shops ‘area’ was really great! It was like a perfect island convenience mini mall, complete with a wine store, 2 restaurants, thai food, ice cream, post office, gift shops, etc. Groceries are expensive, as you can imagine. But hey, you’re in Kauai! On vacation! The parking lot was jammed and tight. Not a MUST SEE but good in a jiffy if you need something.

Nice shopping center in a good neighborhood, located right by Kuhio Hwy. There are grocery store (Foodland), some restaurants, cute little shops, some galleries, hardware stores, gas station, & coffee shops.

Honolulu, HI
When you’re on Kaua’i this is THE shopping center on the North Shore done in a really charming Plantation Style, beautiful views of taro fields right there. One-​stop shop for everything and be sure to go to Magic Dragon toy shop for the kids. Also the tacos at Federico’s are ONO and there is live entertainment at the food court every day!

Covina, CA
The place is right off the main road and is useful for the traveler before they head into the Hanalei Valley.
There is a small grocery shop and a gas station, but aside from that, there’s actually very little to see or do. There’s a few places to eat and shop, but nothing really special. I would say that more than half of the stores are not useful to the traveler.
I can say that you can get bored of the place in 20 – 25 minutes. The only benefit is that there’s an open public bathroom in the back, which is useful.
