We’ve dined here three times and two of those times our service was awful. Two different waitresses, both really young, and in my opinion they just needed more training. One mixed up the beer order, said they had a full bar without bloody marys, and another took forever to get to us, spilled ice in one of our meals while refilling our water, and took my plate while I was still eating. Both ladies were lovely– just undertrained. Food is always fantastic!

Whoa, $ 13 for logged filled Fettuccini with Chicken Marsala? If I wanted to have clumped together noodles, I would have cooked them myself at home. One would hope that going to a restaurant with trained cooks wouldn’t allow such food to be cooked and served, but tis not the case here. Very basic menu, lacking any creative pasta dishes… This won’t be a go-to spot in the neighborhood for me, which is a bummer because I LOVE pasta.

The Bolognese sauce was too salty, and the chunks of meat in the sauce were not ground up properly, coming in large clumps. When your menu says«fresh» pappardelle pasta you tend to expect something that’s homemade. But in this case, the noodles hardly felt fresh. They were way too thick and had a leathery texture which failed to cling on to any of the sauce. They may call their pieces of bread ciabatta, but it felt like eating a sponge. Service was really friendly though. I can make the equivalent dish better at home using Trader Joe’s frozen turkey Bolognese sauce and my hand-cranked pasta machine.

Overall it was a good experience, the restaurant if very nice and the staff was friendly. We ordered small salads and two different pasta entrees as well as a cocktail. The cocktail was fabulous the service was speedy and the pasta portion was large and flavorful, however I personally prefer my pasta sauces to be thicker, both Alfredo and Spaghetti sauces were extremely watery.

The waiter was so rude, he actually yelled at me because he couldn’t get my order right after the 3rd time. This is a chain restaurant, not Beast, get a grip on yourself people. Your food is comparable to that of Chilli’s and with wait staff as rude as that, I’d rather eat at home. Will NEVER go back.

Really good and service. The new recipe for the pasta meat bolognese is incredible. Service was perfect too.

The spaghetti carbonara was awesome, blood orange rum punch, lemon drop, and shrimp pastini were to die for. But start with the cauliflower gratinato, sooo good. And our waiter Jordan was attentive and just an all round great guy. I highly recommend trying the place out.

My last two experiences with this Pastini require that I revise my review. A few weeks ago it was a to-go order that(how else can I say this?) totally sucked. Tonight we went back, armed with a $ 10 off two entrees coupon we received in the mail. Our server(I’m not going to share the name here, though if someone from Pastini management wants to contact me, I am willing) acknowledged and picked up the coupon. I had some questions about the wine list — our server knew less than I did(based solely on my reading of it). OK — not that big a deal. I got a decent glass of wine despite the server. Our entrees, side and salad were all very good. Ronda’s Bellini was disappointingly heavy on the sweet, peachy side, but a side of(sorry to say, nearly flat) Prosecco(comped) made it tolerable. On to the dessert menu. There were items with biscotti, but Ronda was craving something simple, like biscotti and Port. No Port on the menu, but a Grappa sounded like a good possibility. The server assured us that the«cookie» was a biscotti, so she ordered it with a Grappa. The cookie that arrived(without the Grappa, that they were out of) was most definitely a cookie and bore no resemblance to biscotti. When the bill came, the coupon discount was nowhere to be seen and I had to wrangle it. All in all, very sad. The turnover in staff here is such that(as I’ve mentioned before) you won’t get familiar with anyone(particularly disturbing when the joint is a block from your house — and you’re the Duke, for God’s sake), but I could forgive that if the new, rotating staff was at all competent. That doesn’t seem to be going on here. If it wasn’t for past, positive experiences, I’d be knocking down to less than 3 stars. Sad for the loss.

I wasn’t overly impressed with this place. The food came out quickly and our waitress was kind and accommodating. I didn’t find the portion to be very much and the macaroni i ordered was almost watery. Maybe that’s just their style, but for the price I would think they’d put in a little more effort. It honestly seemed like they just had a big ol’ pot in the back, scooped it in the bowl and brought it out. I probably won’t go here again.

Went out for a nice dinner with friends on Halloween and was astounded by the service and food! Instantly cracking jokes as we entered. Prompt and courteous all the way through, even with us being picky! And Nick hooked it up! Best customer service I’ve seen in a while. Oh and the food! Couldn’t eat it fast enough, and that’s saying something coming from me as texture is very important to me! 5 stars for this location

My boyfriend wanted gluten free chicken Alfredo, so I took him here. Glad they have GF penne and spaghetti, but the food’s mediocre. The sort of place I would not bring foodie friends, but that my parents would probably appreciate. Service was friendly and they had a GF tiramisu, but no espresso. How do you not have espresso at a faux Italian restaurant?

3.5 Stars Pastini Pasta is one of my go lunch spots when I’m searching for gluten free meal on 23rd. It’s relatively fast, the staff is friendly, and it doesn’t break the bank. They do offer a substitute gluten free rice noodle, either penne or spaghetti, and most dishes can be made gluten free. Plus, there is no up-charge for the GF noodles. They do take cross contamination serious and cook the noodles is separate pans and use different utensils. They also distinguish GF food with a Italian tooth pick flag. The penne noodles are pretty good and don’t taste like cardboard. Overall, it a good filling meal.

Wife and I went to Pastini last week. I have been there a few times before, and each experience has been enjoyable. My wife had the Gorgonzola tortellini, and I had a spicy shrimp pasta dish. While we were both quite fond of our food, the place was hot, and there were flies buzzing around us. They have some lunch items for under 7.50, but they weren’t as appetizing to us, so we ordered off of the regular menu. Overall it was a good lunch and I know we will be going back as soon as it cools down a bit.

Slow service. The food is always good quality, but. every interaction with the waitstaff was at least 5 minutes beyond when I wanted it. I’ll go back, but it probably won’t be one of my mainstays. Updated 5÷28÷2014, changed from 2* to 4*. Service was fantastic. It was prompt, the food was great. It appears my «slow service» interaction was a fluke.

I’m a big fan of Pastini’s! I used to go to the one in Corvallis a lot. The only difference at this one was that they don’t bring out any bread. They usually bring out bread free of charge along with dipping along every other one I’ve gone to. They have a great selection of beers on tap and the food was great. I got the Italian meatballs, which were delicious! It’s in a great spot as well. Definitely good place to go for a date night and to grab drinks.

So many vegetarian pasta dishes that it was hard to choose one. I finally picked one that had so many yummy veggies in it. So good! Really nice glass of wine too. Oh, the appetizer? They didn’t skimp at all & it was just as good as the main course. Also, the ambiance & noise level were perfect. Nice, mellow vibe. No complaints here.

Frozen TV dinner anyone? This is a warning. Do not make the same mistake we did. There are sooo many other restaurants in this neighborhood. Service was good. The food was inedible.
