First time to a conveyor belt sushi place. Been wanting to try one forever. Came at 3 pm so it was empty. Selection is pretty limited. Rice is… off. Kind of sticky and hard at the same time. I wouldn’t come back

This place has became my least favorite conveyor belt sushi place. Something about the rice is off. Sushi is my favorite food so if I am hungry and in the area I will come here. I won’t go out of my way to come here.

Many great sushi to choose from. I love their miso soup. Parking is tough at night but worth to go there.

Huge track of Sushi with great selections. Pretty good stuff. Decent price for the location as NW23rd can get pricey and pretentious real fast. Not a bad experience for sure.

Much to my dismay, it seems like they did rise their prices. My previous 5-star review hinged upon the fact that this was place was priced very reasonably and I hoped they wouldn’t have done this. But 2 adults and 1 kid today(11÷8÷15) = $ 47 with tip. Tsk tsk.

Fresh(er) ingredients than other sushi bars I’ve been to in Portland, and this is reflected in prices. Staff was kind, and an overall good experience!

For the price point, it’s tough to beat. Sushi conga line was always full, nice wait staff, and food was flavorful. Keep in mind it’s not a high end sushi place. Two of us are for $ 24 including tip.

It’s not the greatest sushi you’re ever going to eat, and I’m always a little suspicious when the sushi chefs are not Japanese, but if you’re eating with a kid, it really can’t be beat. As the sushi train goes around in circles, and the kid is completely mesmerized, and willing to try things he normally wouldn’t go near, it’s kind of fun. Also, you literally can eat in a few seconds, so if you’re hungry and need to eat NOW, there you go. You can also order things off a menu, including some hot dishes. I went in yesterday, and ordered seaweed salad and a couple of handrolls, and it was no problem. Again, not the best, probably, but a fun experience.

Bad sushi! The rolls are sometimes inedible, but I go there because my kids like it. One time I sent something back because there was something that appeared like a piece of wood in the roll. They insisted it was a carrot(it wasn’t!) but begrudgingly took it off the bill because ‘the boss wasn’t in that day’ The whole experience is a bit hit or miss. With all those other great places on 23rd ave you should go elsewhere

Great for a quick bite to eat. Selection and quality was ok. I wasn’t expecting anything super mind blowing but it was good enough.

This is an affordable gem of a sushi place. You can walk in and eat in 10 minutes and be supper full with great sishi for 10– 15 dollars. This is a great place to try new sushi dishes. You can try more adventurous things and not feel like you broke the bank if you don’t finsh it. I highly recommend Sushiville for beginer and intermediate sushi goers. Tip: Go hungry.

I really love the food! It is great quality. Eat here regularly and they know you! Service has always been above average. My body is sensitive to certain recklessness and I’ve never had an issue or episode after a meal at SushiVille. I love this place!

This place is worth coming. The price, quality of food and customer service are all top notch!!! Puts Sushi Land to shame!!! Very professional behind the counter! Nathan is very tentative to his customers’ needs!!! The owner is very kind as well! Good job!

Before I knew this was a sushi go round(or that such things even existed), I ordered takeout from this place. When I walked in to pick it up, I was blown away by the concept. And then the questions set in. How long is the sushi sitting out on these trays? Is it even real fish? What the heck is what? So naturally, I had to give it another try to see what it was all about. Cool murals on the wall. Looks like you’re under the sea. It doesn’t exactly scream classy décor, but kids would probably get a kick out of it. Our waiter was friendly, but he told us repeatedly that this was his first week, and couldn’t really answer any of our questions about the menu. As for the food, I like that the portions are smaller than regular rolls, so you can try more, but it seemed like the only things going around we’re the same 8 rolls. Also, a lot of the sushi we tried was room temp, which isn’t ideal for raw fish. The food we tried was okay, and despite my suspicion, no one got sick. But if that’s the best thing you can say about the food, you probably won’t be back.

So much mystery meat travels on that conveyor belt that there is a very high chance that the next ebola outbreak will start right here at Sushiville. Avoid, unless you are a tourist and a fool. I learned this the hard way.

Yak. I’m really not sure what’s going on here. Wait. I wish I wasn’t aware of what is probably going on here, science-wise. I was curious about the concept of fly-by sushi and expected this to be bad. It even exceeded my expectations. How such a place can survive on posh NW23rd aside fancy St Jack, respectable whiskey kitchens, and quality nachories is truly beyond me. There’s a strong smell of mildew. Some pieces of the conveyer belt are missing, revealing truly filthy inner machinery. The sushi is extremely room temperature and has been no doubt circling its doom for hours. The banged up plastic covers over each of the toddler color schemed dishes are hard to see through, so it’s a little bit like blind bingo. The rice is alternately dry or soggy, and the veggies are kinda wilted all avocados are brown. There were some mushy dark red blotches in some of the rolls that I think are supposed to be fish. Two stars because my boyfriend and I are still waiting for the first signs of brutal gastroenteritis — 2 hours and nothing yet! I have appeased my curiosity, and I don’t regret it so far. Ask me again tomorrow.

So here is the thing, I hate writing negative reviews. However, I feel that a few things should be brought up to for other’s safety. 1. The conveyor belt is cover with old food and is covered with black mold. The system looks like it has never been cleaned. 2. I watched two cheats prepare rolls touching raw fish without wearing gloves, with no hand washing before or after. 3. The floor had bits of fish and rice all over the place. Mopping and sweeping is not hard to do. 4. Customer service was lacking. When I had questions the server did not even attempt to try and answer them or offer suggestions. He barely spoke and made us feel uninvited. 5. My girlfriend got food poisoning. I hope this place an up their game, because it’s a great location. But, with these conditions I would not recommend eating at this establishment.

I was so surprised by how much I liked this place. Now, for context, this is NOT a place where you get custom rolls, exotic fish, or even anything close to what you would get at Bamboo or similar high end sushi place. People who expect that, will be disappointed. But compared to the other conveyer sushi joints that I have been to(many) in NYC, SF, and LA, the quality here was far superior, fish cuts more generous, and value was simply outstanding! Four stars is as high as I can rate this place in any good consciousness, and I don’t think that they ever expect to be five stars. But one thing that we enjoyed is that this is an incredible place to take our active toddler because we can sit and get right to eating We will return frequently!

4 stars = «yay I’m a fan.» And I am a fan, it’s probably one of the better sushi conveyor belt restaurants I’ve been to in the area. Ever since I moved to Portland(disclaimer: not very long ago), I’ve been having strange cravings for conveyor belt sushi. Its cheap, instant gratification qualities draws me to try them all. This place is on the more expensive end, most of the decent stuff like salmon nigiri or rolls will be about $ 3. The fancier rolls were closer to $ 4. I think for one person, after trying to avoid the bottom half of the price range can still end up spending close to $ 20 on a meal here. What you pay for is slightly better quality for conveyor belt sushi and slightly more variety. Which, after going to several other places where 75% of their stuff was deep fried, I was happy to see that non fried items still exist. However, the fried asparagus roll was surprisingly good. They also give you a frequent buyer card which is $ 10 off once it’s filled. — A great incentive for someone who lives in the area. There’s also nooooo wait for a table. The seating at the bar have uncomfortable looking bar stools and there are a few booths that seat 4 – 6. There were many empty spots available so it’s a decent place to wind up if you give up on the rest of NW23rd Ave.

Great conveyor belt sushi for a pretty great price. I got some of the best and most interesting sushi I’ve ever had for $ 1.75 here. Something with crispy onion things. Definately a great place for a more casual stop on NW23rd that still makes great food!
