We were doing a little bar/brewery hopping on a sunny Sunday and wandered across Back Pedal Brewing. The sound of a rousing game of corn hole caught our attention — we’re big into the ol’ game of beanbag toss — so we had to stop and check them out. The beertender was an awesomely nice dude who grabbed our beers quickly and provided friendly conversation during our stay. Oh man, I could spend hours here drinking beer and playing corn hole. Definitely looking forward to making this my new summer hangout spot. Thumbs up!

The best brew we had in Portland during our short weekend getaway was had right here at Back Pedal Brewing. It was our first brew stop and we should have just kept coming back instead of brew hopping around the city. We should have especially skipped that tourist trap 10 Barrel Brewing Co next door(avoid at all costs!). Pints are cheap — only $ 5 for my brew. I’d pay $ 8 for that same brew in Seattle, if I could find one as delicious as the one I had at Back Pedal Brewing. Service was excellent and the beer was superb. I drank the BMX. I loved it so I just kept drinking it instead of switching it up. I mean, why mess with a good thing? There isn’t a ton of seating but we had no issues snagging a table at 8pm on a Friday night(that’s because all the stupid tourists are next door at the awful 10 Barrel Brewing Co!). This place is a hidden gem. Oh, and you can bring your own food in! Winning!

If Deschutes, 10 Barrel, Rogue and Fat Heads have a line longer than you desire to wait, then come here. This is one of the newer breweries in PDX and it is probably here to stay! Although the inside is pretty small, there is good amount of seating. You can also play cornhole. But the most notable thing here is their brewcycles. You get about a 2 hour tour with beer that costs between $ 25-$ 35 per person depending on the day and time you go. That seemed like the most popular option since most of the people in the brewery were waiting for the brewcycles. I was boring and got a beer sample which was about $ 12. I was a little upset that the pours were all uneven — one of the glasses was just half full(or half empty). Definitely will check it out next time rather than be boring and drinking on a table!

Great beer. I sampled some of the onsite brews. All were very good. Nice place to stop for a few beers and watch the NBA playoffs. Staff was very welcoming. Had the opportunity to meet the brewmaster. When you stop by try the corn nuts. They are the bomb.

Surrounded by large scale breweries this little hole in the wall is the gem in the area. Great staff, great location, and most importantly great beer! My favorite place to drink and kick back in Portland. Their staff will make you feel like you are at home having a beer with your best friends!

I was in Portland from Cali and had a couple of drinks at Rogue &10 barrels brewing. I just walked in to this place not knowing what it was and found out they had their own small brewery. This was one of the best places I came across while I was in Portland the staff was amazing everyone was super friendly and their beers were super cheap. If you want to enjoy a great beers and not be surrounded by way too many people this place is a must. DEFINITELYRECOMMENDTHISPLACE!!!

I stumbled across Backpedal brewing on accident, but I’m so glad I did. We tried everything on tap, and had no complaints. The IPA was my personal fave(as per usual), but the Red Dragon is on point as well. Will be back for sure.

Went to 10 barrel for a Batchelor party but the wait was long. Saw the sign for Back Peddal and decided to check it out. The in house beers we were amazing the staff were awesome and we didn’t have to wait a second. Pro tip: Go here, order food from 10 barrel next door, don’t wait for 30 min like a chump.

Snapshot: 5⁄5 Service & Vibe, 3.8÷5 Beer Selection Cool young hip vibe with a mix of guest beers. Being relatively new, they offer 6 beers. The porter was my favorite. 3rd Gear was decent for an IPA. They offer a BReWBarge experience and a bike. Great people, thanks for letting me taste the beers.

One of Portland’s newer breweries, BackPedal is located right next door to 10 Barrel and Rogue on Flanders. If you’ve ever done the BrewCycle or BrewBarge, this is the same company, except it’s their brewery. When we entered late on a Sunday, 2 of their BrewCycles were parked in the brewery. It’s a nice spot and they had about half the beers their own and the other half guest taps. All their beers are bicycle themed and everyone we tried was pretty solid. They claim to have the smallest brewery in Portland, which may be true but not verified. It’s a small system, neatly packed behind the bar. The bartender was chatty and pleasant. We learned about some upcoming projects of theirs on the BrewBarge side. They are planning to open up a larger brewing facility down on the waterfront by McCormick and Schmicks where the old Full Sail pilot brewery was. They’ll have growler fills and launch the BrewBarge out of there. Exciting to see them grow and looking forward to more good beers!

Edit-house beers rate a 2, place rates a 3.5, so I’ll make the rating a 3. I would recommend waiting to come here unless you have the guest taps. Their brewery has only been open several months, so they need some time to develop their brewing skills on this small system. House brewed beers are uni dimensional and all taste very much the same. Blonde, honey, pale, and IPA were extremely similar in flavor, aroma, appearance. Nice bartender, decent building and décor, party vibe with people getting ready for their bike bar tour make for a fun environment and nice, touristy, place to visit.

Andrea was awesome, we went for corn( Unilocal said they had it but apparently it was not that night) but spent the night there because she was very funny and witty. We will be back soon to shoot the shit with her

Would give 6 stars because Andrea was the best, but corn hole wasn’t available. Am definitely going back

Cornhole in the Pearl! Whut? Yep! Brewstop is the garage where they park the 3 brewcycles. When all the brewcycles are out and about, they turn the garage into two cornhole pitches — two sets. Small selection of mixed drinks and 14 rotating taps including some ciders. Normal crowd, not too Pearlescent.

I landed here with a bunch of friends to watch the World Cup after all the usual spots were overrun or, surprisingly, closed. It wasn’t too busy when we stopped in so we were able to grab a table for ourselves and started a few rounds of beer and food. They had quite a few beers on tap which were mostly local and spanned a range of styles. The food was great, mostly smaller bites,(quesadillas, tacos, nachos, etc…). The staffers were wicked friendly, albeit a bit frazzled as the POS system seemed to be proving a bit problematic. The bar is very clean and modern, lots of stainless steel and finished wood, and plenty of long tables, stools, and huge flatscreen TVs. If you’re stopping in for a drink, keep an eye out as it’s a little hidden behind the old mellow mushroom across from Rogue Brewery. Don’t forget to check out the vending machine!!!

Heard about the pub opening recently and popped in for a quick pint. It’s tucked behind the garage where the BrewCycle tour bikes are parked. Lots of people were getting ready to go out on tours, but the staff was still very friendly and attentive. BrewStop has a nice rotating selection of mostly local beers. Didn’t try the food, but the tacos were recommended and the smells coming from the back kitchen were enticing. I think that this place will definitely get more regulars when the weather warms up and they can open the large roll-up glass doors to the street. I had a nice time and would recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.
