Giving this place four stars because I’m not a hoppy beer fan and wish they had more beer choices with lower IBU’s. They also mixed up our beers(and it wasn’t busy). They don’t offer any happy hour specials any day of the week either. That said, it’s a fun place to visit — the vibe reminds me of a micro brew and Pinterest having a baby. Share an order of their steak nachos! I’m not a nacho fan, but these are a whole new breed. It’s chopped up steak, bacon, jalapeño, green onions, and some sort of white cheese dressing. Seriously a foodgasm. To those of you who don’t like hoppy beers, just find one that looks good with the lowest IBU.

If Deschutes is too packed, please don’t wait in line. Go to 10 Barrel instead. We got there around 6 on a Friday night, party of 10, and got seated right away. We went there for the beer, and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. This isn’t just a great brewery, it’s got great service and awesome food. Don’t skip the Brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, or the oyster shooter! On to the beer, I ordered Nibbin Out(a mint chocolate stout, 4⁄5) and their popular Pearl IPA(5⁄5), which also happens to have the highest ABC of the IPA’s. Great choices. We all drank and ate to our heart’s content for just about $ 22/person. I anticipated spending way more than that. Definitely recommend it.

The newest go-to place for Portland beer tourism, it seems. And so long as you don’t mind the crowds, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Bad news first: 10 Barrel is now owned by the same folks that own Budweiser, so you’re not really fulfilling your local, indie-biz goals by eating or drinking here. And expect nearly an hour wait for a table in the dining room on a Saturday evening. And the bar – it’s open seating. Good luck with that. Generally, the service is efficient and reasonably attentive. But, as you might expect for a busy pub, if you need to get in and out quickly, this is not your place. Now for the good news: I found the food here really good. There are a couple good options if you’re not into clogging your arteries. Still, the burgers and nachos(which *will* clog arteries) are top notch, at least in my experience. And good pizzas too. Oh. And beer! Yay, beer! Delicious beer! And while the selection is diverse enough to suit nearly every palate, there’s no sign of Budweiser to be found!

Absolutely loved this place! I came here for snowy/frosty afternoon in Portland in December. I have had 10 Barrel Beer before, so I was excited to see the variety at their pub. We got seated promptly and the service was great! I got the Pray for Snow Winter Ale, and the the Cider. Both were delicious! We later decided we wanted food, so we got the steak and gorgonzola nachos(half fries & half chips). The chips were definitely a mistake since I think they were stale, the fries were of better quality I think. Overall, great place to relax on a chilly or pleasant afternoon — great ambiance and service, and good food! I’ll definitely be back.

This was our third time at 10 Barrel. The first two times was just meeting for a beer, this time to eat as well. We always leave unimpressed. We sat at a table in the bar. While we had a waitress, the service was bizarre. The waitress suggested to sample the two beers we were debating between, then 7 – 8 minutes later came back and asked how the samples were — we never got the samples. Then she says that her bartenders aren’t very good today. It wasn’t consistent as to who brought out drinks, both the waitress and bartender would, it was confusing and seemed to be for them as well. Food: we order the Steak & Gouda nachos. Not typical nachos but sounded good. They were not very good actually. The«steak» was more like ground hamburger. Beer: We love beer, but their beer isn’t anything we would seek out or buy given other options. It’s just not that good. Probably never go back again. Why, to be yet underwhelmed once again? No thanks!

Nice Downtown/Pearl District Brewery with plenty of good beer and food. Loved the affordable 10 Taster Tray. I believe it was only $ 12-$ 13. My favorite was a Coffee and Chocolate heavy Milk Stout. We got a bottle of the Sinister Black Ale from a local grocery store a week following our sampler. We really loved the Mussels with fries and brusselsprouts. Both were so good. Unfortunately, the fondu special was not so successful. Although the flavor was ok, the all cold dipping choices with a runny fondu just left drip marks all over out clothes. It was a mess. Better stick to the other favorites. The staff was attentive and the new, open industrial space is inviting as well.

Cool brewery right across the street from Rogue, love the décor, very open and for lack of a better word, hipster-ish. Service was really good, they came around and made sure you had everything you needed, easy to flag them down too– very laid back environment. They have very different types of brew here which is always a plus, always want to see that variety in a brewery. Very decent pricing for everything. The only downside I have to say is that their flights are already pre-selected and they don’t allow you to make your own, not really sure why but it was a bummer. Other than though, no biggie great place to check out! :)

Decided to pop in here for a drink(which turned into a few) during our visit in Portland! First thing you notice when you walk in is the hops smell! Soooo strong but if you like beer, it will smell amazing to you haha It’s a huge place so plenty of seating and very modern with a good variety of beers. Our waiters/bartenders were really friendly always checking up on us. They offer a flight but unfortunately, you can’t pick which beers you want, it’s a set list(numbered 1 – 10 on the menu). I personally liked the Cucumber Crush which is a sour(my favorite!) and it literally had a hint of cucumber! We also ordered the brussel sprouts but I wasn’t a huge fan of them-a little too salty from all the seasoning and aioli sauce on top.

Snapshot: 4⁄5 Beer Selection 3.7÷5 Layout and Service 10 Barrel is in the middle of the Pearl District offering a multitude of beer selections. It’s a big but busy place especially on a Friday. I didn’t try any of the food but there were a lot of options on the menu.

Modern and with good variety of beers from Ales to Stouts. Nice tap room with a cool logo and friendly beertenders waiters/waitresses. It’s worth the stop on your Beer Tour especially since it’s directly across the street from Rogue Ales.

Most places that say they have crispy crust pizza lie. Might be crispy if they cooked it a little longer but when it gets to me it is usually limp and I might as well order thick crust(no way). This place did and it was a delight. My lunch companion raved over the pizzas and convinced me to go for one of the specialty pizzas instead of a choose-your-own. We did a half and half — half: Half Jaca with no pineapple or pork and Half Viking. I picked off the pepperoncini on the Viking and loved it — even with the smoked pork. I’m not usually a fan of smoked foods but it was a hint of smokiness and a nice dry shred — very yummy. I loved my half — it was crazy spicy with the jalapenos, they don’t skimp! but totally delicious and when the cheese inevitably slipped off, you had the yummy garlic cream sauce underneath to flavor the crust. Pretty good crust too. For reference: The Jaca: garlic cream sauce, pepperoni, house smoked pulled pork, sausage, pineapple, jalapenos, and mozzarella. The Viking: house tomato sauce, pepperoni, italian sausage, pulled pork, black olives, pepperoncinis, and mozzarella. * the sauce is the ground, not sliced, variety The service was very good although we were talking so much we had to tell our waitress we’d flag her down. The place seemed busy but it wasn’t noisy. The tables and staff were clean — didn’t have the opportunity to check out anything else. I’m definitely going back and next time I’ll get a picture of a brilliant half and half pizza. I thought Apizza Scholls was the best pizza in Portland but I think they have a challenger.

Now, I’m not a fan of IPAs which is really the Portland craft beer scene. I joined my colleagues who were already one drink in and cracking jokes with the bartender at my expense because I didn’t like any of the first five tastings. Can’t help that I like only the best kinds of beer. Low-and-behold, his final recommendation was his so-called favorite beer. The #10 – Dry Hopped Saison. It was so good. Highly recommend having that if you prefer lagers and/or amber ales. Ultimately, we had five drinks and the bill was only $ 18 bucks. For amazing beers? Are you serious? I definitely need to get out of San Francisco more often. That would have easily been like $ 45. Cheers to this awesome place and the bartender who’s name I didn’t get.

Meh.(Says Unilocal snob) This place had such cool décor and ambiance. So disappointing how mediocre the beers were. We tried to order food but no one paid us any attention during the duration of our stay at the bar. The flight had ten beers; none of which were very memorable. They’d be better suited targeting a style and hitting the mark, than making so many. The black IPA, however, was quite good. Don’t go here if you’re doing a brewery journey. You’re much better served to hit up somewhere that is more passionate about their brewing processes.

This was our final brewery in Portland and we did it with a bang! Our party of 2 became a party of 7 as we hit this place up after doing a few breweries on our last day. We got a table near the back of the place and it accommodated us due to them having communal seating. We ordered beer after beer which were all good! We did the Pearl IPA, Bring Da Ruckas, The Sinister Black, The Apocalypse IPA and a few others I can’t remember. We didn’t get any food but the dishes I saw go by my face looked pretty good! Place was packed, but not a surprise as they have good beer and great peeps working here. Great beer list!

Located across the street from Rogues, this brewery is definitely worth checking out. Space is small with bar tables and communal tables — so don’t be surprised if you get seated next to strangers. This place is known for their sour beers, so what a better way to try a new brewery than by ordering the flight? 10 Flight Sampler for $ 10: What a steal. Definitely great value. My complaint is that the pours were inconsistent. Some of them were way above half the glass and some were way under. The sour beers are definitely unique and definitely worth trying. Gorgonzola Steak Nachos: We all regretted ordering this. We are not complaining about the portion or the price. Its a lot of food for $ 14. The dish itself was pretty bad. The«nachos» are not fried tortilla chips, they are more like fried potato chips. I think ours were too fried since they had a very bitter after taste. The steak was overdone and tough. The dish itself was overly salty that made us all pretty sick quickly. Overall, come for the beers as they are different from what you usually get at other places. Service is friendly.

So my sister moved to Portland and I’m slowly making my way through all the breweries #lifegoals. So I was on my way to Rogue but saw that this place was shiny and new, meaning that I had never drank there before, and had to go there instead, I’d already been to Rogue a handful of times. Anyways, both times I came here it was PACKED! The wait for a table was about an hour and the bar had standing room only. There were about 5 of us so we took our odds at the bar. Luckily, the bar is always full of super nice people who let take their seats when they were done and also shared table space for us to put drinks down. To the good part: all of the beers are delicious. I had a taster flight. All delicious. The brussel sprouts are delicious, there needs to be a song written about that harissa aioli though. So. Damn. Delicious.

Beer. Extensive beer list. You can get just about anything for $ 5 — even sours. The blackberry crush was so good we came back the next day to relive the memory. The pearl IPA slid safely in at 7.6%. Smooth, easy to drink, pungent. It could easily be your go to. The pizza was delicious. The nachos were about the saltiest plate of nachos I’ve ever had. Upon inspection it was definitely the chips themselves — they were coated and covered in seasoning. The meat on the nachos was overlooked pieces of steak bits. Am I glad I tried them? Sure. The presentation looks immaculate. The memory makes me think of licking a salt slab like a deer. Not pleasant. The establishment. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. This place could easily make your bookmarks of favorite places to frequent. Oh yeah baby.

I really dig the design and look of 10 Barrel Brewing Co. The ambiance is great for drinking beers! The flight of ten beers comes out in a metal holder which was pretty cool. Usually the beers are placed in a specific order(light to dark), but the beers were mixed in some random order. So we just went down the line! The beers we tried were all just alright. We also ordered brussels sprouts and spinach dip. The brussels sprouts were a bit too salty for me. The spinach dip comes with pita bread instead of chips so that was awesome! As a souvenir for our Portland trip, Jacqueline K., Bonnie Y., and I picked up «Drink Beers» shirts($ 15) from here!

We loved this place. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon, but they still seated us within 5 minutes. We were on the side of the street a few blocks up trying to decide where to go when a local stopped us and apologized for eavesdropping but said we had to try this place. Welp, okay! We walked down and shared a 10 beer sampler and their BBQ wings. I would recommend those BBQ wings to anyone who can handle a little bit of a bite! They were AMAZING! The beers were good, but I wish they had a better order for you to drink them in. They just tell you to drink them however you want. This made for some bad mixings of different flavors and potentially altered our viewpoints on some of the beers. We love beer, but we are not even close to being experts so some guidance is always nice! Oh, I cannot forget the amazing service. Waitress was way nice and helpful! She even pointed us in the direction for more beer(we were doing a self guided brewery tour since our tour got cancelled).
