I usually only go to Ringlers to have a drink before heading up to Lola’s Room for dancing, but I had lunch here the other day for the first time while hanging out for the Crystal’s 102nd birthday celebration and it was pretty good. I tried the TNT basket with chicken strips, tots and coleslaw and it ended up being one of the better meals I have had at a McMenamins. The chicken was the best part being really juicy and tender. The service was okay, but it did take a while for the food. The space is pretty cool and roomy though, plus they have games and big screen TVs to entertain you.

The pros — The service has improved. It is cool atmosphere. The best thing is having dinner there before a concert at the Crystal Ballroom so that you can get early entry to the show. Great selection of beer but microbrews are now available in every bar in town. The cons — I’m jaded about McMenamins service so I just assume it will take forever to get your food. Sorry, that may be unfair but after two decades of waiting for lots of meals at McMenamins… The food is stuff I could prepare at home. The conclusion; I will still go there for dinner and a beer on nights when I have tickets for a show at the Crystal.

Hubby was happy with his whiskey flight and beers but I got cocktails and they tasted exactly like watered down OJ. No exaggeration. Just Gross The bar tender(guy with dark hair) got butt hurt because he asked me about my drink(I left it up to him to make me something good) and I told him I didn’t like it. He was offended and looked in shock because I told him the drink was too watery, so he blames it on the lack of fresh orange juice that was made –_– for reals? He should probably get his panties out of that twist and learn to make drinks instead of getting easily offended. The inside of the place is super cute though and you have your choice of playing pool, some pinball machines, and a shuffle board.

Honestly, for someone who has worked for mcmenamins for a year, and who seriously likes mcmenamins food, beer, and spirits, I can’t help but give this place a terrible review because a terrible experience is what we had. We literally witnessed our server be a dick to so many costumers, it was excruciating. The food was good but took 45 minutes to arrive, and we didn’t have silverware for the first 15 minutes we had our food. Terrible service.

I’m a fan of most any McMenamin’s location, and have been here several times. On this most recent visit, we had a fabulous experience because of our bartender! He was very friendly, recommended the brewery and ballroom tour(which was fascinating! I’d totally recommend checking it out, AND i got to visit the historic Crystal Ballroom, which I’d never been in). We had some of our favorite McMenamin’s brews(Hammerhead and the Ruby) as well as trying a delicious Black Widow brew that they had on tap.

It’s a great place. What can I say? I stop in every time I’m in Portland. We met a few District Managers the last time we were there, they were interested to know we are Nevada Passport holders and tripsters! We love McMenamins that much. This round we were crusin’ through for the Tripster party in Bothel. Always great service. The bartenders are very nice.

We had some beer and tater tots before boogie-ing at the Crystal Ballroom next door. This is a cool McMenamin’s bar, complete with the funky antique-y feel and some games. They had a cool happy hour menu, which was great to start off with. Along with the tater tots, my friends got pizza slices and a nice variety of cocktails. Service was kind of slow at times, but friendly when they came around.

Pretty cool spot to hangout, grab a drink and catch up with friends which is exactly what we did! We came here pretty late — around 130am. We got some beers and started chatting. We couldn’t help but notice the pool tables and the person at the bar let us play for free since it was so late! Very nice gesture. If you want to play for free, its free daily until 6pm according to a sign. They also have some cool pinball machines. Nice spot to chill and hangout. Extra star due to the nice staff.

This is a fun place to hang out. Like all McMenamin’s establishments they have unique décor that creates a fun atmosphere. They have a game room with pool tables, shuffleboard tables, and some pinball machines. We came on a night with a live band that played mostly 90s and 00s music, which we enjoyed. We had the grasshopper pie for dessert which was delicious.

Horrible horrible service. Will never go there again! We were in town with my Iraq/Afghanistan veteran pal who just came back from his duty. We had dinner elsewhere and were all warm and happy… we had a couple drinks but nothing serious, and the British bartender accused us of slurring words and being too drunk! Well my veteran friend has PTSD and is a little slow… he was flat out accused by this guy as being way drunk. We tried to explain to the management but they would not listen and threw us out. Bad hospitality by a local business and shame on them for passing judgement on those vets who are struggling!!!

Standard McMenamins food and service. Nothing spectacular but still good. We went here before a show at the Crystal and had a few pints of Ruby and some food. I had a turkey sandwich with Terminator wheat bread that was good. My husband had meatloaf which he liked. Not a bad meal.

This place is pretty cool! It’s super eclectic however it’s just so awesome at the same time. There are mosaics all over the building and Brandon different items from all sorts of errands and cultures like it was a giant disco ball on the ceiling that looked like a UF O… And then was also like a really giant Dragon. Totally awesome bargain Hunt shuffleboard and pool and maybe even darts but I didn’t see that. The bathrooms are surprisingly nice also so ladies don’t be afraid to go in there. I’m usually skeptical of going into public bathrooms and parts however this one was pretty nice so thumbs up to you guys. The menu, was pretty large but not the cheapest for your bar menu. They were items for everyone on there including a kids menu with coloring pages. Which is awesome because two places is so eclectic to come sure most children just would run around and check out. Where is election is great they also have a nice selection of ciders. And I think they have to different seasoned items and different special pricing every now and then. Also, the staff are great!

I was a little uncertain about coming here for lunch based on the reviews, but found it quite enjoyable. The food isn’t gourmet, but it’s decent pub fare. Service was pretty good, too. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but wouldn’t mind returning if I was nearby.

This is more of a Portland chain. There are a few. People go up to the bar with their McMenamins books, proving they were there. Personally, the food was eh, the place was not the cleanest, but the decorations gave us something to stare at while we drank our«not cold enough» beers. We all got something different and no one was jumping for joy over the food. It opens into the rom where the Ballroom tour starts. Alcohol makes everything better so this place serves its purpose…

Great bar! The pizza is yummy and they have lots of games to play. Check out the Wizard of Oz pinball, It’s a little more expensive but totally worth it. Only thing I didn’t really like was the jumping up stairs… Maybe I’m just too scared of being crushed haha

My wife and I came here before a friend’s band played upstairs. We have frequented this bar every time we see a show at the Crystal. Last time we came we had Zack as our bartender, and we were treated on this occasion to have him take care of us again. Zack is extremely personable, and checked in on us when we were finishing plates. The cool thing about Ringler’s is that it is a McMenamins, but it doesn’t fit the stigma of slow service that other McMenamin’s carry. We really enjoyed ourselves and even came back after the concert for one last beer and some fries because Zack was still there.

This menu is shared with several other McMenamins. It is behind the Portland creative restaurant trend in quality and tastiness. No water served when ordered. Dish delivered with chicken when it was not ordered with chicken. What’s not to like? To its credit, there are several semi-healthy options. And cool buildings!

LOVEDTHISPUB! I was in Portland for approximately 5 days and my friends and I went to this pub twice during our stay. Well, my bf actually left his ID there the first night, so we came back the second night to pick it up and just ended up having another blast :) I love that they have pool tables and shuffle board! My bf is not much of a drinker, so it’s always great to have activities he can do sober. I had the best time playing shuffleboard. It was my first time playing and I’m just gonna say that I kicked everyone’s asses.(_|_) you see that? I kicked em all. Purple haze is actually one of my favorite beers, and I ordered their version which was awesome. Also got a few shots down, jamie picklebacks mmmmmmm mmm. Apparently it’s not a popular drink there, but I’m glad they had it. We also shared a big ol basket of TATERTOTS between 6(it’s kinda big). Holy shiet, it was probably one of the best tater tots I’ve ever had. Yeah ok, they’re just tots… but still… it’s all covered in garlic parm or something, and had so much flavor and crisp. And they also had sriracha so +1000 points. And also everything was dirt effing cheap. I was confused why they only charged me 6 something dollars for a couple drinks. I don’t even think it was HH. Still confused but I was too buzzed to ask questions. Lastly, the atmosphere was great due to the friendly bartenders. A lot of times in LA, they just look at you angrily(after you have made it to the bar through a crowd of drunks, and then wave your hands like a maniac trying to catch some bartender’s attention for 10 mins) and asks you what you want. Then they pretty much throw your drinks in your face(ok jk but they’re always in such a hurry) and bitch about how little you tip. Ok, not all LA bartenders, but we know this happens plenty of times. … WELL, that’s not the case here lol. Everyone who worked there was so friendly, and we had several conversations about the pub, about LA, about Portland, drinks, etc. etc. and it was awesome. I think one of our bartenders’ name was Desmond. He was a cool guyyy. And did I mention how good the tots were? I want mo :(

I came here for happy hour the other day with my fiancé and we ordered PIZZA, BEER, ANDFRENCHFRIES. The prices were amazing during happy hour so we were thrilled that we got to take advantage of the deals. The pizza came out really HOT which was good. The cheese was stringy and like lava against the roof of my mouth. The pizza was thicker than what I normally prefer, but there was something really nostalgic about eating the pizza – it reminded me of pizza day at my elementary school cafeteria. The french fries were great as well. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. We washed everything down with a couple of IPAs and didn’t put a dent in our wallet. I love the décor. There is a ceramic mosaic designs on the walls that make the place really eccentric and quirky. The bar is dim, pretty big, and lively. The service was fast and attentive. SOLIDHAPPYHOUR and a great time!
