A great little Café right at the Boardwalk entrance. Most often it’s packed, so be prepared to wait. Prices are high, but not more than other places in the area. Whether your getting breakfast or lunch, the food has always been consistently awesome and plentiful. Service is also good, even when it’s busy the staff and kitchen do a good job at keeping up. One recommendation is to get some umbrellas outside to keep the sun away for those waiting on a table Otherwise, I highly recommend giving Perks a try!

Good place with big portion size for their omelette’s. They have good pancakes(get the short stack, its more than enough). Location wise its right across from the entrance to the boardwalk and on the corner of that cool looking mini golf corse.

Went on Father’s Day. Not a huge wait. My husband’s pancakes were burnt beyond and the waitress seemed annoyed. My eggs in my wrap were very burnt. I see burning food is a common thing at perks. My sons did enjoy the waffles. I live here and would not return.

We ate breakfast here on a holiday weekend(Sunday) in the summer. We arrived early(8:15 am), so we didn’t have to wait for a table. It’s a convenient location to the beach, so that’s why we chose to eat here. Also, they have a nice menu selection, and the place is kept clean. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and all three of us enjoyed our meals. My wife and I had omelettes, and my wife loved hers. She said they were«fluffy» like she likes them. It’s a 3-egg omelette, but it seemed larger than most others ones I’ve eaten(folded into a half-circle, about 1.5 inches thick). The home fries were nice and crispy, so I’m thinking they were fried, not baked or cooked on the flat top. My daughter had a Belgian waffle(with brownie topping and whipped cream) and loved it. The portions were large so we had to take some home. I drank coffee and our server left the carafe on our table for refills. Our server was friendly and attentive. Most of the young kids who work here seem to be good workers judging by the quick service and by observing them. The only minor issue was when we walked in; the girl at the counter was somewhat busy and didn’t bother to look up at us even though we were basically standing next to her. Frustrated, I finally spoke to her to get her attention and she looked up. Note that on weekend mornings in the summer, there’s a steady flow of customers coming in so she should probably pay a little more attention. I paid my check and the cashier happened to be the owner. I knew he was a NY Giant football fan because of the memorabilia hanging in the restaurant. So being a fan myself, we chatted about the Giants. He’s a nice guy and runs his restaurant well. Go Giants! A solid 3 stars.

Mother in law(who has poor wealth) was ahead of us by 5 mins in order to get a table. Was not during peak busy time at the beach or this establishment. Upon arriving my mother in law was sat outside in the heat(100 degrees with heat index) and reasoning was that unless her entire party was there then she had to wait outside in the heat. When asking if she could wait inside off to the side the young high school blonde said«absolutely not». I chose not to speak to management given I knew the importance of these jobs for these local Hs guys and girls. Instead I asked the waitress to ensure that should that happen again they are more compassionate. Have been here 7 years every summer. But this meal was more expensive then usual and the milk was bad in my coffee. The finer details and customer service. Be careful perks… you’re standards are falling. An old friend.

Good sized portions and the food tasted really good. Friendly staff and very nice atmosphere. The place is pretty spacious. Right across the boardwalk so it’s perfect for a family breakfast or lunch. Pretty well priced and convenient. Come here if you want to have a a good meal, relax from Jenkinson’s madness without loosing an arm and a leg to shameless boardwalk vendors.

I have been ordering breakfast from Perks for over three years and the service and quality has been inconsistent; when the owner is present the staff are accommodating, otherwise they use every excuse instead of owning up to their mistakes. For take out they either forget orders or they get orders wrong, and then still charge. Usually after picking up the forgotten order, it is noticeably made on the fly and I have found eggshell in my omelet.

Such a cute stop for breakfast. Line was out the door and we waited a half hour but it was worth it. Staff was very friendly and food was delicious. The inside is decorated so cute I never wanted to leave with the way it was set up! And it’s a good location right across from jenkinsons aquarium and the boardwalk. Close to the inlet too!

Now that Perks is back open I couldn’t wait to go for breakfast. Once again my meal was great and fresh. The menu is large enough for anyones cravings. Today I decided on a simple bacon and eggs, but as I have learned places can mess this up. Perks did it perfect. My eggs fresh and cooked just right, My wifes Greek wrap enough for three meals. What I like most about Perks is the staff are so friendly and nice and attentive. You are not rushed at all here. I am glad Perks is back open for the summer and look forward to many more breakfasts here.

Front desk clerk is a complete jerk! After his rude remarks I couldn’t even finish the full 15 minute wait(even though I went by myself) i will definitely never go there again. Unfriendly to the customers.

A friend encouraged me to go here for breakfast and I’m glad I did. Awesome breakfast food and large portions. We all had something different and everyone loved their food. The wait staff is young, very young but let’s face it. they move faster. Service was with a smile and the wait was short, but we were there on a weekday. Awesome place! I don’t care if they won’t allow strollers inside. Why do you need to bring a stroller in a restaurant? We all had kids and we held them, or put them in a seat. DEAL people. Do you want hot coffee spilled when someone trips over your kids stroller? Bathrooms were so — so but I told the manager and they took care of it right away. I’ll definitely be back.

Just an ok breakfast spot. Eggs and pancakes are good. Home fries looked frozen. I was there during the week and yes they were busy but didn’t like that I felt like I was being rushed out the door.

Horrible service. Owner was beyond rude. Waited 45 min when he told us it was a 15 min wait… Once our table was ready couldn’t sit down cause our party was all together, however two people from or were in HIS restroom!(Did I mention the person in the restroom was 3YEARSOLD!!) We were all in the Vicinity of his restaurant. Just a horrible experience

Quiet Wednesday morning. Good portions, friendly service and really quick. Overall seems clean an well run. Maybe weekends are crazier but overall we had a good experience. Bathrooms are old and small but clean by the way. Maybe $ 1 or $ 2 more than another diner but you are at the Jersey Shore. Not much competition other than a Subway a block away. I would come back.

Horrible food. Went today, 8÷9÷2013. Ordered breakfast with my husband & neighbor and we thought it was awful. Crossed this place off our list. Not so clean place. No toliet paper in the bathroom. Needs renovations. I guess they think since they are only seasonally opened they don’t need to spend the money to renovate the place. My chili texas omelette was runny and the potatoes were very dry, toast wet from my chili omelette. They put the toast on the food. Didn’t remove the dirty dishes while we sat there to drink our coffe/tea. Anyway, ruined our idea of a nice beach breakfast. Sorry, but don’t go here to eat. Cook doesn’t know how to cook. Oh, pricey too. Cost three people $ 40+ for breakfast.

I was here earlier this month with a group of people. We had a mix of lunch and breakfast. Breakfast items: omlets and eggs Benedict(all were decent — nothing to write home about) Lunch items: mixed review… Buffalo chicken sandwich was raved about. Turkey club was terrible. How do you mess up a turkey club? By using slimy turkey. Two of us had turkey clubs and the turkey was extremely wet and slimy. I couldn’t have more than a bite. Overall, decent place but don’t rush here…

I texted my cousin, who looks like Ronnie from«Jersey Shore», asking how this place was. you know, Unilocal reviews are good, but a trusted family member is better! he said it was good, so my friends and I rolled in before heading to the beach for the day. I am willing to bump this place to 4 stars, beyond my usual«diners get 3 stars» rating. breakfast plates are large and pretty well priced. I had«All American Toast» with blueberries(as I am fond of saying, I love America so much, I make Ronald Reagan look like Jimmy Carter). three large pieces of Fre-I mean American– toast. perfect consistency, not soggy, and not overly sweet. yum! also ate some home fries that my friend didn’t finish. service was quick and helpful, and all the waitresses were cute as hell. coffee refilled fast, the way it should be! total bill for seven people, including gratuity, was 87 bucks. good place to start off your day of GTL-ing.
