This place was great! Was just lookin for a place to grab lunch with my girlfriend who had never been to point pleasant before, and stopped by this place. Just plain awesome. Great service, great food, and free cookies for dessert. It was sweet!

Loved this place. Small, cozy, friendly place for breakfast. Omelettes were great, but their home fries are even better. We rented a spot within walking distance and came here every morning for breakfast and coffee. Pet friendly too — if you want to sit outside with your dog

I was here twice for breakfast on Memorial Day Weekend. This rating is an average of my two experiences. In short, good food and employees, unprofessional setup. Our first breakfast was a 5 star visit. Everything was delicious, loved the iced coffee in mason jars, THRILLED they offer Truvia. Everything was great great great! The next day we returned for breakfast and saw it was packed. Nowhere to sit(including the counter) so we opted to order to go. A waitress who said she’d be back in a min to take our order never returned although it was blatant we needed to order since we were standing in a seated room with menus in our hands. We finally asked a different waitress to take our order, went outside to get out of the crowded restaurant and waited. We then paid and told our food would be ready in a few min. We were then given our iced coffees in cups that began to feel soggy(not the right cup for a cold beverage). After 15 min we asked the waitress about the food since it was supposed to be done 10 min ago. She went off and returned to tell us it hadn’t been prepared and would be another 15 min. I was fuming as that would put us at well over an hour from when we first arrived. The icing on the cake was a table receiving their food during this that walked in 20 min after we arrived. It pains me to only give 3 stars because I love this place. I’ve been coming here since before it was the Food Shack every summer. But the complete lack of professional service, miscommunication with the kitchen, unexplained wait for the food put a terrible taste in my mouth. It felt like we kept getting forgotten about, from ordering to waiting outside to actually putting the order in.

The food here is always delicious! I come every time Im down the shore for breakfast and its such an enjoyable experience. The people here are always so friendly and welcoming. They make sure each and everyone of their customers has an enjoyable meal. I’m in love with the décor and the cute cottage feel of the restaurant. I recommend anyone and everyone to come to the food shack every time they are down the shore.

Just had breakfast there this morning, and I love this place. This is not a place to go to if you want some artisan breakfast or unique ingredients. It’s simple, but done very, VERY well. The owner is one of the nicest people around. She offered me and my kids«as many chocolate chip cookies as you want» on the way out. They serve breakfast and lunch, I heard the soups… there were about 4 available. The breakfasts are egg sandwiches, pancakes, french toast… a few special egg-based concoctions… all really good. Unfortunately they close down in Jan-Mar but it’s a great place to go for breakfast. A little bar for about 8 people and then a handful of smaller tables. Highly recommended.

Such a cute place. Food was great and they were so sweet to my little 14 month old! Would absolutely go back! If I lived closer I would be a regular!

Great food. Sit at the counter and you well have a very nostalgic experience. The well worn counter top, charming stained glass, and interesting curtains create a homey shore feel.

Great breakfast and really friendly service. We will come back! Quaint little lunch counter was just what we were looking for. They serve breakfast all day, so I had the pork roll egg and cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll. Just like I remember growing up in New Jersey. Family owned, so they really care that the customers are happy. The atmosphere is very beachy, and perfect for the location, right on the channel, a block from the beach.

Perhaps one step up from being an actual shack! About a half dozen tables and half dozen counter stools at this über cute breakfast/lunch only establishment. Located next to Shrimp Box on the inlet where it turns on to Broadway, surrounded by charter boats. Run by a very sweet woman who gives you a homemade chocolate chip cookie on your way out. What’s not to like? This is as casual as it gets, full of nautical knick-knacks on the wall and pretty sure it’s cash only. I like this shack! My family loved it, too. Especially the old fashioned milk bottle that held the cream for my awesome cup of coffee. Wish them the best of luck for a great summer season.

We had great breakfast here on a Sunday morning. It was in early may so there was plenty of parking in the lot available off street. The place is very tiny so it’s prob packed during the on season. It was full during just a regular sunday, there is some bar seating and limited tables. They open 6:30am until 2pm. Small town feel. Warm friendly staff. Very clean. Very small. The kitchen is small so the orders do take a while to come out when busy(which doesn’t take much). The food was really good. fresh coffee. Reasonably priced and unique breakfast combo offerings. Stones throw from the beach and fishing boats for post breakfast stroll. Will come back again.

We accidentally found this little gem of a restaurant. Don’t be fooled– it“s not a shack, but a charming spot with delicious home cooked food. Open for breakfast and lunch. My breakfast(scrambled eggs w/spinach & peppers, excellently spiced home fries, pork roll, & toast) was so generous I couldn’t finish, but they still gave me the complimentary chocolate chip cookie. The owner and staff, mostly family members, added a warm, homey atmosphere to a very pleasant experience. You might say, they put the«pleasant» in Point Pleasant for this trip’
