I’m a local is a great place to get some grub on. It’s name says it all. We showed up at around 1030 am on memorial day weekend and there was no wait. It’s location is out of the way and too far for the hung over Johnnies to make the walk to get good quality food at a price that doesn’t break the bank. The staff is all young girls, but they show a professionalism beyond their years. Compliments to the management on the training and attention paid to good service with such a young demographic. The food here is pretty good. I got the Greek omelet with eggs whites, and it could have used a little more feta for my taste, but it was still very good. The smoothies are excellent, and also extremely well priced. The décor is backcountry kitchen and has all the charms you’d expect from a small family owned Jersey shore dinner.

Am I the only is who finds it ironic that a place called I’m A Local is closed for the winter?

If you’re looking for a good place to eat and not a local try this place. The fancy French toast is on the money.

While all my experiences have been pleasant at this establishment, I have not returned since they were closed at noon when the hours for the day clearly stated they were open 8AM-2PM. Uncool, especially when I took a special trip out to have brunch here. I will not be returning.

I enjoyed this place, my party did not. I had the«hank over” — 5 stars. It was your typical jersey sandwich egg bacon Taylor ham but they added a hash brown, so smart. 2 people had waffles and sent them back, 2 people had pancakes and said they weren’t so great either. Fresh squeeze orange juice was expensive and so thick you could not get it down. Cute environment, nice staff.

One of the best breakfast places in the area. A mom and pop kinda restaurant. The California omelette is great as is their coffee. All of their egg dishes are delicious. My only complaint is their waiting system… They need to take names or having a better system to know who has been waiting for a table longer. My boyfriend and I waited 30 minutes and watched multiple people get seated before us simply because the staff has forgotten who got there first.

We needed a good but quick breakfast so we could get back to our hotel and checkout in time. This place was perfect. Great food, quick and pleasant service and reasonable prices. Perfect compliment to the Surfside motel.

Went here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The fruit smoothie($ 4.99) was very good and didn’t seem to consist of that fake syrup a lot of places try to pass of as a substitute for real fruit. I went with«slow cooked oatmeal with berries»($ 3.99). The berries, thankfully fresh, were the best part. I’m not sure«slow cooking» the oatmeal does this oatmeal any justice. It was very clumpy, pasty and rather tasteless. I attempted to spruce it up by asking for some cinnamon but even that didn’t help. At least my buddy was happy with his meal and the service was very prompt and friendly.

As a Local I have said many times I need to try I’m a Local café. As I have also stated in other reviews at breakfast when I am trying a place for the first time I always go with a simple breakfast as to be able to judge it fairly. When I walked in I was greeted by a very pleasant young woman who asked if I would like something to drink, I ordered coffee and she asked milk or cream(nice touch) As I looked over the menu my coffee arrived by another server. I ordered a bacon and egg and cheese sandwich. A short time later my sandwich arrived and that was the last time I saw either of the servers,(who seemed to be very preoccupied behind the front counter) As I bit into my sandwich the bacon was missing. How can you order a bacon and egg sandwich and have the Bacon missing? I would have mentioned it to the server but she never came back to ask how my meal was or to ask if I’d like more coffee when she came back to drop off the check. So I can only give this place 2 stars because my eggs were good but they messed up the order and the poor service.

This place is pretty awesome. We were able to sit outside on a beautiful sunny day(and we all know that food tastes better on a beautiful sunny day). Our server was very sweet and we never waited for anything. My only qualm was I wasn’t able to get a burger on a Sunday afternoon, they only serve breakfast and their«classics» menu. But I persisted and got chicken fingers and fries, the fries were tasty(crisp and fresh). We had just beat the Sunday rush it had seemed(around 12:20 p.m.), which was perfect and we were encouraged by our waitress to sit and enjoy the day. I can’t wait to come back!

The only place on the boardwalk to get a full sit down breakfast with waitress service. Its located all the way at the end next to the arcade. Not at the inlet; its on the other end.

I have eaten at «I’m a Local» many times over the past few years, as we often stay in the area, and I wish I didn’t have to give this place one star. Unfortunately, while the food here is excellent, the service is terrible. We enjoyed breakfast here a few times, but the service got consistently worse over the years. Last year it was to the point that we were in the restaurant for almost three hours! This is the last thing you want on a gorgeous beach day! This year we decided we would order at the register and pick-up the food to go and eat it outside our hotel.(We thought it might save on time.) The waitress taking our order was unbelievably rude and once we finished ordering she said it would be ready in half an hour«IFWEWERELUCKY.» I left with a terrible taste in my mouth and decided to walk back in and cancel. Best decision we could have made because within ten minutes we were enjoying amazing Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwiches from the Food Shack down by the Inlet. It’s sad to say, but definitely skip this place.

Quick service Awesome food Friendly servers We dined with the kids outside. The time from order to delivery was within the 12 minute window we agreed upon for«non-electronics» time. Impressive. The coffee was excellent too! As were the potatoes, eggs, waffles, pancakes and French toast. Can’t ask for much more! Highly recommended.

[Slow, inattentive service cost this place 2 stars in this review] Three of us ate breakfast here on a Wednesday morning, arriving around 9:15am. We sat at the counter where we acknowledged but ignored for about 10 minutes. We ordered and that was the last time we saw our waitress until check time. The food was quite good: I had the California omelette which was prepared perfectly and seasoned well(though it was missing the guacamole which was supposed to be served with it) as were the home fries. My wife had the Nutty Monkey protein shake which was tasty and provided an unusually healthy option. The coffee was great too and I would’ve LOVED a refill… had one ever been offered. the food arrived just-shy of an hour after we ordered… as we were preparing to pay for our beverages and leave.

On vacation with my husband and six year old daughter we stopped here for breakfast. What a great place, service was so quick! It was extremely busy because of the season but we were in and out. Staff was extremely friendly and you can tell they help each other out. Recommend to anyone, I def know our breakfast spot next time we are in the area.

One of the best breakfast spots around. Tucked away from the boardwalk just enough, it’s a quiet and cozy café. Outdoor and indoor sitting as well. Try the«Hungry Gardener» burrito, you won’t be sorry! My girlfriend and I will definitely be returning again!

When I first walked into I’m A Local, the quaint, comfortable, beach-y(and most importantly, clean!) feel immediately drew me in. The friendly waitresses, efficient service, and amazing food are the reasons I haven’t gone anywhere else for breakfast since stopping here one morning. I usually come here on weekends and take a seat at the counter. Between the regular patrons that I have befriended and the extremely friendly staff that not only remembers me but remembers our conversations from the week before, I feel like I am having breakfast at an old friend’s house. A wait staff that makes all of their guests feel like a priority is hard to come by these days, but not at I’m A Local. They are always eager to suggest new menu items or help me decide which of the many delicious omelets I am in the mood for. The menu is extensive and outstanding. Besides the staples seen at many breakfast/lunch cafes, they have quite a few unique dishes that are absolutely delicious(see: The Hankover). The constantly changing specials always make decisions on what to eat even harder. I’m A Local has been around for a while but I wish I had found it sooner! Whenever my friends are down, I bring them in with me, and they always want to go back the next morning. Great place!
