Me and my fiancé’s go to for sushi and Chinese in the area. The food is amazing and all the bartenders are great. I always recommend this place as the best around :)

Super gross. We went for lunch because we had a gift certificate. So disappointed in our tidbit platter and chicken pad Thai. Everything lacked flavor. The pad Thai was watery with rubbery chicken. The tidbit plate had average crab Rangoon, fatty boneless ribs, and a bland spring roll. So glad our bill total was the exact amount of our gift certificate. Will not return.

Good rolls and sushi, plus it’s convenient on the south shore.

I have to say it was pretty good! We stopped in for a late dinner and were bit disappointed! We had the Godzilla maki, rainbow roll, and a few others. Definitely delicious! The staff was very friendly too!

Love Sushi Joy. I recently got the Godzilla sushi and i can say it is my new favorite. It is always hard to decide. I also live the Bento Boxes they have. The best lo mein anywhere.

I went in at 9:30 on a Saturday night. We got asked if we wanted drinks and were given menus. We ordered and we got served. By now it was 10:10.Now the«Bums Rush» began. The check was at our table and it seemed as if the staff took turns peeking over at us or standing by our table. While still eating I asked when they closed and was told 10:30.We rushed through the rest of our meal and left. The food was good but the taste in my mouth was anything but.

I’m a fan of this place. I have come with sons quite often and find it to be one of the few places that does Chinese and sushi acceptably. Tonight I was flying solo. Hot n Sour to start and it was good. Followed with sashimi and Uni. The fact that they offer Uni is a huge plus in my book. Friendly staff, good food will have us coming back.

Jan 26th, 2016. I ordered their Chicken Teriyaki Bento lunch box. It’s the worst chicken teriyaki ever. The waitress knows something was wrong since I only had one piece chicken. She asked everyone at other tables around me how are they doing but me. She handed me the check still didn’t ask me if my meal was ok. I end up telling her that they should change this dish name to pre cooked plain chicken breast top with high sodium soy sauce. I took a photo for everyone to look.

Called in a to– go order, driving back from a snowboard weekend. Wanted a small order for a light supper for my daughter and I. Communication challenges occurred and I arrived to find an order totaling 71.00. I misunderstood the girl taking orders on the phone. Lesson learned, read the menu first rather than ordering on the phone w/o a menu. The edamame was good as was the delicious salmon sashimi and nigiri. The tuna hand roll not to my liking. Unagi was great. Still serving horrible pink dyed ginger.

This is my favorite place in the area for sushi, and their hot Chinese and Japanese dishes are very good too. The sushi fish is always high quality and very fresh.

Best american chinese food in town, and probably the best sushi as well. Service and atmosphere also top notch. Usually when places try to cross asian genre, one side over-influences the other e.g. Pad thai from a Chinese-thai place ends up with lo meinified pas thai but you wont go wrong here; each type is distinct and presented true to form. Best value here for the lunch specials. Combo plates heaping and made to order vs hot plated, Sashimi lunch 7 chefs choice generous slabs of delicoiusness…

We’ve lived on the South Shore for three years and haven’t found better Chinese food(and sushi) anywhere. My whole family loves it, including extended family members that we take there.

Tough one. I had two rolls, a Spider Roll and a special roll that was spicy tuna and jalapeño on it. They didn’t taste badly. But they did overwhelm me with deliciousness either. The fish in the special roll was chopped up so I don’t know exactly what it was. They have a lot of «white tuna» on their menu. I don’t know what fish that is. I avoided any rolls with it. It does not look like a typical sushi bar. That kind of threw me. It is more like a Chinese food restaurant. I don’t know if I can recommend for sushi.

Don’t think of Sushi Joy as a sushi joint. Think of it as the best Chinese restaurant in town, that also happens to have decent sushi. Seriously, the menu of Chinese and Japanese specialties at Sushi Joy is what makes it special. It’s not the usual defrosted gristle and McNuggets — the vegetables are fresh cut, the meats wok-hot and crispy, and the fried fare is perfectly golden and crunchy. The shrimp have been my favorite, both the unique tempura prawns that have panko for extra crunch and the inexplicably crispy-creamy walnut shrimp served with huge glazed, crunchy half-walnuts. Don’t let the name and strip-mall location fool you. This place is better than your favorite Chinese restaurant on the South Shore!

I just ate here with my wife and my little friend. The food was fast and good. Priced average for a sushi place not high not low. The Bento box was fucking dope. I suggested they surprised me with a little fried scallops and it it made me smile. now we are headed across the street to hang out in the nutrition corner parking lot for our appearance I would like to come back to you later and eat more sushi. –Rob Bailey

So… this is my default sushi joint in Plymouth! But possibly not any more. Why you ask? Well let’s just say that in the past couple of months they have either let the core staff go or they have left for reasons that I don’t know, and have only heard bits and pieces of. But I will tell you the replacements have large shoes to fill and so far not so good. Tonight was the worst service I have ever had. If I wanted Marge from Mel’s truck stop diner, then that’s where I would have gone. But when I go to drop a $ 100 on sushi and drinks, I want to be treated like I’m appreciated for being there. Not like I’m a burden to, the day. So I tipped 10% and that was a gift. I literally had to yell excuse me to the bartender in order to get her attention, after speaking loudly and she turned and looked at me and kept on with a conversation, as if I was not even there. The food was good as usual but the overwhelming sense that I was a burden to, the bartender exceeded the flavor of the fare.

I’m new to the area and was in the mood for Chinese food. Saw that this place does it, so I dropped by. Plenty of parking on a Tuesday afternoon around 3PM. It was not busy at all inside, which was great. Upon entrance, I was immediately impressed with the interior. It was better than I had expected. The décor meshed well and the seats were great. The staff was tremendously friendly and attentive. I decided to order General Gau’s Chicken to dine-in and to order Sesame Beef for take-out. Both dishes were clean-looking and the chefs seemed to use high quality ingredients. However, the taste left something to be desired. Maybe it was too clean? ;) If I’m in the mood for Chinese again, I’ll try another restaurant. Otherwise, I’ll be back to try their Japanese!

My Order: $ 9.58 unagi bento box lunch price PROS: — Take out available — Waiting area consists of a comfy couch and bowl of tootsie rolls — Bar stocked with wines and hard liquor — Nice décor, not busy, plenty of parking — No wait for food(less than 10 minutes on a Tuesday @ 3pm) CONS: — Plentiful but such a let down. The unagi had tiny bones in it and the miso soup lacked flavor. The mini salad was okay while the California roll & tempura were the highlights of my dish. I craved for sushi and I’m still craving it after dinner. I really wanted to find a place on my way back home from work that could fill my tummy with happiness. Better luck next time I guess. Should I try something different?
