The go to spot of you want fresh oysters. Takes them a while to shuck them and might have a little grit in them but they’re so worth it. They have happy hour for oysters also! All their soups and bisque are on point! One of the servers always stop by my tale to say hi and ask how things are going with me.

I ate lunch here at least once a week when my office was at Shops and I can’t really think of anything bad there. The staff is very friendly, the bartender makes a KILLER bloody Mary and food comes quickly even during the lunch rush. I’ve tried a bunch of catch of the day stuff. Once was yellowfin street tacos that were amazing! I typically get the blackened catfish w/hush puppies and fries for lunch. Took my 2 daughters there and they loved everything they tasted and have been asking to return. Taste, service, variety, and ambience: 4.5 stars

Oysters from the Northeast are about $ 15 for a half dozen. Pricing isn’t bad. Delicious oysters and great customer service. I’m one of those embarrassing cheapos who uses coupons I get in the mail so I got $ 10 off my bill. If you are a new customer, they give you a sampler of all their soups and chowders and a taste of their nachos oysters. What great good will and customer service! Charbroiled oysters were pretty yummy. I’ve never been to New Orleans, so I can’t tell you if they can compare to Acme, but I will order these again. Located on the south side of Shops of Legacy and easy to find near the Ginger Man Bar. Great job Half Shells!

My boyfriend took me here for some seafood last night and it really surpassed expectations! First of all, we were asked if we were first timers and after answering yes, the waiter brought out samples for us to try. They gave us small little sample cups of all the different soups and a sample of their oyster nachos. 3 out of the 5 soups did not impress much but the crab bisque and clam chowder WOW. Can’t say I’ve had much crab bisque before, but this one was super creamy and had this taste that hit you at the end of every spoonful. I’ve had my fair share of clam chowder soups that were good, but this one was super creamy and just super delicious. I keep thinking about it even now and craving it! So we ended up getting a bowl of crab bisque soup and a bowl of clam chowder soup. Definitely satisfied. We also got the crispy calamari appetizer. The dipping sauce was good but it honestly tasted like any other fried calamari and we wished there was more for the price that we paid. Also, I had never tried fresh oysters before so my boyfriend decided to order some for me to try. So I can’t compare it to other places since I’ve never had it, but it tasted really good here! The taste was fresh and they gave us sauce and horse raddish to put on top. Overall, well made quality food for the most part and good service as well. I would definitely come back again, especially to have more of their soup!

This was our first visit to this restaurant, but it will not be our last. I have an Onion allergy. Paul went above and beyond to make sure my food was safe for my consumption. Love, love, love this place.

Had a team lunch here recently. I ordered a salmon special from the board; be advised that, at least in this case, there was not a lunch sized portion, and it was pretty spendy. Featuring a cut of grilled salmon resting on a bed of slightly wilted spinach and maque choux(a corn based side dish), I added a side order of hush puppies to get a little carb infusion. The hush puppies didn’t make it out with the order, I had to ask again and they came when I was almost done. The salmon was decent, perhaps a little overcooked but not to the point of being dry. The maque choux didn’t seem to have a lot of flavor, but was a colorful side dish. Hush puppies were a bit of a letdown, almost a little gummy inside. As others have mentioned, this place is owned by the same company as Fish City Grill, and this meal was in line with what I’ve had at those locations — overpriced and modest in quality. Perhaps I’m just too picky for seafood, but this dish had a lot more impact on my wallet than it did on my taste buds.

This is a great little restaurant on Legacy. I had never been before, so our server(Anastasia) was very helpful giving details about all the drinks and dishes. She brought a complimentary sampler of Oyster Nachos and all five soups. The crab bisque was one of the best I’ve had! I ordered a top shelf margarita, appetizer of crispy calamari(delicious) and the special of blue crab stuff flounder. My husband had the fish city sandwich. Everything was very good! Service was great. Will definitely return!

This was our first time here and I am so impressed with the food, the service, and how quickly we were taken care of. We mentioned to our server David that we hadn’t been here before and he brought out samples of all their soups and their famous oyster nachos(yum!). I had the shrimp po’boy and it was delicious and authentic. Overall, David was great and I can’t wait to come back!

What a joy. Great place to go before braving IKEA. Super service oriented — they bring out samples of their signature items. Classy. Étouffée was primo. Catherine was fab. Have the bloodies!

This place is awesome. First times get a small sampler of the oyster nachos and all the soups. I had the shrimp and cheese grits. Wonderful. The bloodies rock too. Ask for Catherine, she is on spot taking care of you and say hi to Bo the manager. They go out of their way to make you welcome.

Good selection of foods. Excellent service from Anastasia. Attentive but not overbearing. Had the fish and chips and the beer battered shrimp. Fish was cod and was excellent. Very flaky with a thin coating of batter. Substituted a salad for the waffle fries. The shrimp was also excellent. My waffle fries were hot and well seasoned. Also had the gumbo in a thick sauce which was also very good. Tried a sample of the oyster nachos which were very good. Nice casual atmosphere. I will return.

A solid 3.5. Great bar vibe and excellent fish tacos. I wish their wine selection was better. And yes, it’s a bar so that may be an unreasonable request. But with a few more(better) wines in the menu, I would give this four stars.

Great food and Great service!!! We were in town for a conference and decided to check this place out. Food was awesome, all of the different variety of Oyster were phenomenal. Even the red beans and rice and soup were terrific. Try the Oyster Nachos… those were incredible. Our waiter Ricky was on his game… his incredible service added to the experience. Give the place a try, you will enjoy it!

Came in for oysters with a colleague while in town for business. We’d already had Mexican, sushi, barbecue and other American and wanted something different. Had 4 varieties of cooked oysters and red beans/rice. The food was hot, fast and tasty. Food was average but the service was awesome! They had a small(but quite good) selection of craft beer and affordable drink specials. Our server was Ricky, he was quick and service great! We received a couple of Samples to help us feel out the menu which was awesome!

Second time here. Love the food and the beer. Got the revolver. It was good and the chicken po boy was pretty good too. The ambience is like a european style restaurant. Waiter was friendly and helpful with suggestions. They have plenty of specials that keep changing.

Snider plaza is an over hyped conglomerate of over priced averages. Half Shells was a surprising exception. The seafood was tasty– both fried and fresh. The key lime pie was tangy and sweet. Worth a trip back.

Came here a few times for lunch, overall not a bad place. Had oysters, catfish, shrimp, it was good. None stood out particularly, but it was priced reasonably and looked pretty fresh. Overall I would return and try some of the other dishes.

A few years ago, I lived at The Shops at Legacy and Half Shells was my favorite place to eat and hang out. I went in last week and sat at the bar… asked the bartender if she could make me a Peartini(which I’ve ordered there many many times), she quickly responded«I don’t have the ingredients to make it.» I said, «Okay», was about to ask for the drink menu and she walked away. She never offered anything, never smiled, was completely disinterested. She didn’t even greet me when I sat down at the bar. I got up, walked across the street to Sambuca and had the total opposite experience… a delicious Peartini served by a delightful bartender. Today, I went into Half Shells for crab legs and silently said a little prayer hoping the same bartender wasn’t there… she was. Same disinterest, but she did make me a Peartini this time… food was good, but the service and atmosphere was very uninviting. So disappointed!

My wife and I went in around 4pm today. Greeted courteously by hostess — we asked to sit at the bar & it went downhill from there… My wife said Bartender shot hostess a look = not digging us sitting at the bar.(don’t know why but maybe what follows explains…) Bartender NOT friendly… not mean just… blah. Took our order and that was last we heard from her… she was busy reviewing receipts and other bar maintenance stuff. Maybe explains the«don’t seat them here!» — look. Another employee stepped in after our food was served & per our request — hustled us some Tartar Sauce(btw…their Tartar Sauce Sucks). She was slightly more attentive than the complete ignore we were getting previously… but never asked if we needed a drink refill… we had to ask for small plates(we were sharing a dish)…didn’t ask if our food was okay(I’m guessing cause she already knew the answer = NO!) We ordered the«Pick 2 Combo» — Shrimp and Oysters. This is how it came out = 3 overcooked and dry Butterfly Shrimp — each wing the size of a pinky finger. 3 overcooked Oysters — each about an inch but less than 2 inches with more breading than Oyster. A cup of Slaw, some half warm Waffle Fries & a few burned Hush Puppies. My wife said the dish should be titled = «Waffle Fries with a side of Seafood Popcorn a cup of Slaw & some burned Shoes.» This place sucks. Not going Back.

We came in 30 mins till closing and our waitress was so nice and our food came out fast. It was our first time here and it wont be our last. I had crab stuffed flounder and my gf had a thai chili baised salmon. It was both delicious. Fresh for sure and cooked to perfection. This placed saved my night and made my gf very happy and its her new favorite seafood grille restaurant. I couldnt be happier with this place.
