Such a fun spot to taste some delicious mead. The workers behind the counter were cheerful and incredibly helpful. One even offered to deliver our wine purchase to our hotel because we were on a walking tour. You won’t regret a stop here!

Love their mead! Particularly fond of all the honey wines. We also loved the apricot and strawberry honey wine. Cute built in shop with lots of fun things. Great place to stop and a little different! Nice change after a day of wineries. Sweet wine is a good end to the day!

Delicious honey wine! Cindy was gracious and generous with our tasting. Probably should have bought more bottles than we did but they do have a wine of the month club. So glad we found this little gem.

Hello fellow Unilocal,if you are near grand Junction Colorado this place is a MUST see, the wine tasting is a must do and the cider wine is AWESOME, we bought a few wines and cider mix to make cider in a crock pot. Perfect when the temperature doesn’t go a over 38 degrees. And the lady that helped us was very patient and knowledgeable. Will come back before we leave.

Really fun place to visit, something out of the ordinary in a wine producing area. I had had mead in a few different places, but never really knew that much about it, nor was I able to compare the different types. We stopped here at the end of our wine tasting day and it was a great way to finish things off. They told us quite a bit about the processes behind making meads and there was plenty of discussion about the different flavors and qualities that each one had.

This is the second Mead works we have every visited. We toured Maine Mead works, around 5 years ago in Portland. Compared to that style of mead, these are much sweeter. They do have a full range, with a couple well balanced, slightly sweet and dry styles. We enjoyed the tasting room, though I do not think they get many people our age going in to taste. I hope this review to help that. I believe the hours are 10 – 5, so we actually made this the first stop after we checked out of hotel. You show you ID, and then you pick 5 things to taste from the extensive choices. If you are with someones, you can share tastes, so we enjoyed 10 samples, only missing tasting a few meads. We purchased the Lancelot, a semi dry mead, and a raspberry chocolate fortified mead, so more like a desert port. There are many other fruit infused meads that are on the sweet side. Well worth the stop, they also have jams and other bee related products.

This was my first experience drinking mead and it was great to try it at Meadery of the Rockies! The staff was wonderful and helped us to understand how meads differed from wine. I would highly recommend the Lancelot and the Peaches n Honey.

I was hesitant on trying their wines because I disliked honey wines before. They were right when they said I would LOVEIT! The chocolate cherry/rasberry/strawberry wines were out of this world. They were very generous with the tastings. I enjoyed the 8 wines I tried there.

Melissa & Lexi were so warm and friendly. Had the best experience and assisted us through our wine tasting. Just had to purchase a few bottles. Recommend not passing this one up.

Was in town trying out different wineries and decided to go across the street to try some mead wine. Have never has honey based wine, so was definitely interested. Went in on a Saturday and was told I was able to try all the samples I wanted for free, I knew I would have fun! Recommended that you start from the top of their list to the bottom. That goes from dry to sweet(to much sugar wipes out your tastebuds). Personally I am a fan of dry so I started from the very top, which with the honey was obviously still pretty sweet. Tried the peach, raspberry, and strawberry. The raspberry seemed like a group favorite, however mine was the strawberry. It had a very light crisp taste. I tried the last one on the list which was very sweet and thick. I was definitely not a fan, but if you like sweet drinks then you should try it! The strawberry mead was the bottle I ended up buying for under fifteenth bucks. If you do not like sweet wines then you shouldn’t stop here, however if you do then drink up!

Do you like mead? Go here and get some. Do you not like mead? Go here and they will probably have something you’ll like. Never had mead? Stop by and have some tasty goodness.

I’ve never really been a mead person, but as a beekeeper, I decided to give it another shot by checking out this local meadery. Everyone gets 5 complimentary tastings. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. In the end, I’ve decided I’m still not a mead fan but I’m glad we stopped here as it’s really cute inside. They offer lots of local Colorado bee products for sale, like honeys, waxes, and honeycombs. Strangely enough, the mead here is actually made with Californian orange blossom honey(they say it’s due to the taste and consistency). The space is actually quite roomy and laid out well. Decent parking in a dirt lot on beautiful property. There were two other vendors set up outside in front selling Colorado-made salsas and dips. I was surprised to not find picnic tables or anything to sit at outside in the event I wanted to purchase a glass or bottle and enjoy it right then and there like at other wineries I’ve been to. Though I didn’t buy anything here, it was a good experience and I was impressed by the large variety of offerings.

The staff at the Meadery is a lot of fun. The condiments and food products are wonderful. The Meadery is an interesting process. You should definitely stop and experience mead. This is the best place to do it. Cheers!

Friendly staff, and you’re allowed up to 5 free samples. This one just didn’t do it for me is all. But that’s only my opinion, so don’t let that hold you back from trying. Staff is friendly, and their jams and honeys enthused me more, but we did grab a bottle of the cherry n’ honey which the bf thought decent. I’m not a huge wine drinker and to me, it tasted more medicine-y is all. But, like I said before — try for yourself, and don’t let me convince you otherwise.

Lovely meadery. Tried several different honey wines. If your in the area or passing by definitely stop in. I gave them a 5 star rating because the staff here was very friendly and hospitable. Good people. Great honey wines. I purchased the chocolate cherry wine for my husband and I to share when we get back to Arizona. Wish I brought a bigger suit case.

We have only really recently gotten into meads, after a trip to Murhys, CA where there is a superb Meadery. After seeing that Palisade has a Meadery, we decided to take the drive from Moab, UT where we are vacationing to try it out. We came in and there was a huge tour going on — which explained why we had to park out in the puddle section of the parking lot. We were immediately greeted by a very nice lady who took us through our tasting. We shared our choices between the two of us and with only one paid taste, we were able to try all of their meads except one, which was great. I was really excited to try their fruit flavors, chocolate satins and satins… but I found that most of them were entirely too sweet, even for me — and I like wines on the sweeter side. We ended up buying the raspberry, the chocolate raspberry satin and the apricot — they had better fruit flavors than the rest. All in all a pretty nice experience and some decent meads.

We stopped by the meadery when driving around wine country, and were so glad we stopped. It was fun to hear about this unique place from the girl pouring our tasting and she was cheerful and made it a fun stop. We tasted a few different honey and fruit wines(tasting is free) and had a glass because it was so reasonable($ 3) of our favorite. We bought two bottles to take home and the grand total with two bottles and a glass of wine was $ 25. sweet! This is a great place to stop on a hot day, all of the wines are sweet and a lot of them chilled. They have dessert wines also that have a chocolate taste mixed with fruit. This meadery is affiliated with St. Katherine’s and Talon. They have a wine club you can join that mails out quarterly wines that you can pick from any of the three places.( ) It also looked affordable, and a great way to «Drink Local» :) There is a gazebo and a nice patio outside, and clean bathrooms. We had our three elementary school kids along, and they enjoyed the yard and gazebo while we did our tasting. It was a wonderful stop on our trip, and I hope to make it back someday!

Absolutely wonderful place! I would highly recommend stopping by. The people behind the counter were fantastic at walking us through the different meads we tasted. It was also not too full when we went(on a Thursday afternoon) and they were bottling, so they walked us in back and gave us a personalized tour of their bottling/labeling/boxing process. Very neat. If you’ve never been to a winery, I’d highly recommend it. It’s something different than all the standard wineries around! Finally, if you’re stopping by on a long drive, they’ve got clean bathrooms, and a little shaded porch outside that you can hang out on and relax.
