A bit crowded in the tasting area, and the wines were relatively nondescript. Reasonably priced. The best part of the experience is the location, it’s a working winery area and the smells of wood and wine and escaping alcohol are wonderful.

Love this little place even better that it’s next to Peach Tree Distillery and Palisade Brewery — what an awesome little spot! This little area is a must! Bought the o6 reserve merlot yumm — other wines good I was in a hurry so didn’t spend much time.

Visited during our trip through Colorado Wine Country over Labor Day Weekend 2013. Pretty unassuming winery in a warehouse. Not much was put into the tasting room — but the wines(which is where they should concentrate) were very good. We bought several bottles. Tasting room hostess was very knowledgeable and kind. She gave us directions and suggestions for other areas in Palisade.

This was our first stop for some wine tasting and I must say, it’s my favorite stop as well. Our pourer was a very friendly knowledgeable lady. She was all smiles which made the experience good as this was my boyfriend’s first wine tasting. There was a somewhat extensive selection of reds, whites, and ports. We didn’t care much for the ports so opted for the reds and whites instead. Tasting was free, which was also a bonus. I’ve gone to some places where they charge for tasting. We had quite a few good ones, but decided on two bottles seeing that we didn’t want to ring up our credit cards. We ended up choosing the 2006 Reserve Merlot, which he also bought a bottle for his mom. And we bought the 2012 Riesling, which surprisingly, wasn’t at all sweet. I definitely recommend making a stop here and would definitely return.

The service here was okay, but not great, and the wine was mostly not that great either. Their award-winning merlot was, indeed, quite tasty, but the rest was a bit brassy and overly bright. To each her own, but this was not my kinda place.

I had a very bad experience at the tasting room. First, I did not care for the wines. I’ll admit that I tend to like sweeter wines, which this winery does not focus on. However, I’ve never drank wines(multiple wines, at that) that tasted like they had Tabasco sauce in them! My husband(who is into drier reds) also thought the wines tasted strange. If only the wine was the worst part. The lady doing the tasting randomly began a long, one-sided, winding discussion about creationism vs. evolution. She also asked us what we did for a living and made assumptions of our economic status, etc. Very strange and uncomfortable. As desperate as I was for a drink after a morning hike and a long afternoon car ride, I wasn’t desperate enough to stay there! Go to the brewery across the street– you won’t be disappointed.

DeBeque Canyon was recommended to us by locals in Grand Junction, so we went. Rhoda served us our wine and fed us very helpful information about Palisade, Grand Junction and Fruita. My girlfriend and I were in town for a job interview and decided to taste some Palisade wine. She told us story after story about Bennett Price who is the«mad wine scientist» behind all of the barrels. As we were paying for a bottle of wine, Bennett walked in from the fields and chatted with us a bit. Instead of a wine tasting room, DeBegue gets down and dirty, you get to taste in a huge storage room with the wine barrels. Much more rustic in comparison to the other wineries we visited in Palisade. Thank you for such a great visit Rhoda and Bennett.

We bought a wonderful Merlot for our cat sitter here. If you are in the area and are looking for a place to wine taste, pick this place to try. You won’t be sorry.

We had such a lovely ending to our wine tour with this cosy tasting room. We were pleased to have caught the owners wife serving on a stormy Sunday afternoon, and she was so knowledgeable about each wine, and the proper way to get the most out of each wines experience. This tasting room has a 4 sample maximum, but if you’re buying they will usually lift the limit for you. Make this a stop on your next wine tour!
