This is just what it sounds like-a stand beside the road, on the south side of the highway. If you are passing through the area on I-70 during peach season, it is imperative that you stop here. You can jump off I-70 at exit 42 and get back on at exit 44(or vice versa if you are going the other way) and just drive down US6 and look for one of these stands by a peach orchard. Oh my god! We stopped here on the way back from a trip to Junction and got a couple bags of ripe peaches. Oh my god! They smelled so amazing we were eating them before we got to the car. Oh my god! They just exploded with the most incredible peach succulence imaginable. The hell with Georgia peaches, Palisade, CO has the best in the world. My wife and kids and I were all stunned at the sublime magnificence of these peaches. Even if you are not in the area, check farmers markets during season in and around Denver and Salt Lake for these. Unbelievable! Tip on Stone fruit(peaches, plums, etc): don’t buy if they travel more than 1000 miles-they are picked so long before ripe that they will be pulpy and lacking flavor.
