Beautiful restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean! The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious! I had the Crab Sandwich that Nick’s is famous for, and now I know why it’s popular! The drinks came out quickly and were great! Definitely coming back!

Typical bar with typical food for a bar. Nothing too special but the crab sandwich is great, the drinks are really good. If your looking for a great meal try bunkers across the street. Much better food.

California Trip #18 Mayo and crab – say what? For the record, I don’t like mayo on my lobstah roll either. One of the two most delicious food ever and you’re going to ruin it with mayo? Shut the front door. When I heard that Crab Sandwiches(crab salad with mayo) are popular in California, I originally refused to try it. I like my crab straight-up. Maybe because it was the end of my trip, relaxed, and going with the flow of the California vibe, I decided to stop by Nick’s Seashore Restaurant(Nick’s) and try Nick’s Famous Grilled Crab Sandwich. Nick’s Famous Grilled Crab Sandwich on Sourdough with fries– Sweet Dungeness crab tossed lightly with mayo, served on grilled Wedemeyer Sourdough and a slice of tomato. I have to admit, it was pretty tasty. I barely noticed the mayo as the crab flavor came through nicely, and the slight tang of the sourdough bread was a great compliment to the crab. I’m sad to say I don’t remember the fries so maybe they’re just okay? The price tag is crazy($ 23.50), but I wasn’t able to finish my meal, and eating it cold the next day was almost even better. 4* Service and Ambiance – Nick’s décor is a bit outdated, and most of the customers dining with me were older(although it was happy hour time), but when you sit down and look at that view, nothing else matters. The young man taking care of me was wonderful and I had no complaints. 4* If you’re staying at the Best Western across the street, or visiting Rockaway Beach, I recommend you try out Nick’s Famous Grilled Grab Sandwich. Don’t be scared of the mayo. When you’re in the Bay, you’ve got to eat like the natives!

Our Eastbay best friends came all the way from Rodeo, Ca. yesterday for a late lunch at Nicks. They basically came over to watch the Big waves that were pounding Pacificas shoreline including Nicks parking lot. Well they were not disappointed! So not only did it turn out to be an entertaining afternoon we had a great lunch. Our friend Tom had heard about Nicks having the best crab sandwich in town. Well let me tell you, he devoured that sandwich, a thumbs up! Grilled and served on sourdough, a little pricey but well worth it. His wife Mary also enjoyed the Tuna melt and Sue(aka«The Countess»)enjoyed the chicken breast. My wife enjoyed her Fettuchini Alfredo I had, the Cod Fish & Chips that was pretty good. So if you are looking for a great ocean view. good food & a great wait service Nicks of Rockaway is the place.

One of the best restaurants in Pacifica. It’s a little pricey, but well worth it. The shell feast with garlic cream sauce is amazing!

My food was good, but the other guest in my party was not so lucky. Halibut was thin and very dry… Brussels sprouts were supposed to be cartelized in brown butter– but was actually burnt. Waitress took back to the kitchen. They should have given my neighbor a desert or seething to take home. She gave me a cut of her fish– it was tough. I felt bad about taking her there and the response that the waitress brought back from the kitchen was insulting. Ended up not being a good experience. (Moon Raler across the road is outstanding… But new to area and wanting to try different places$

Very friendly and 40 minute wait seating turn to 15 mins which is a plus and very good free garlic bread to start with and amazing food selection. Delicious fresh seafood and good local atmosphere in front of the beach with a nice view. Order came a little late and got a free dessert for each of us.

Straight 5 stars to this place. No complaints! Me and my friend were driving north on highway 1 coz we got bored of going south to 17 mile drive and Big Sur over the weekend. Fear of losing network if we go too far, we decided to eat at Pacifica. As usual, I checked Unilocal for sea food and I found Nick’s. It’s located by the beach. It’s got a beach facing bar and lounge. Dance floor. It’s a hub for the senior citizens. However, their menu is extraordinary. We ordered beer and some fried prawns as appetizer. The shrimp was so deliciously overwhelming and I fell in love with this place. My friend ordered Grilled Salmon for his main course and it was super good(most expensive dish: p). I ordered the specialty of Nick’s — The Famous Grilled Crab Sandwich. This is the best sandwich I ever had. So much crab that I lost my mind. It was delightful. Also they have eggplant fries as a side which are homemade and awesome. I’m gonna come here again to make my friends try the crab sandwich. Even though it’s 25 bucks, it’s worth it. Beer is comparatively cheaper than other places, Stella Draft was $ 5.5 I definitely recommend this place for good sea food. Lots of options. Good view.

The view from this place is pretty great. If you sit on the side of the bar by the dance floor, you get some great views of the waves reflecting in the mirrors above you. The clam chowder is very good here– and I would suggest ordering the garlic bread appetizer to go with it. I also had seafood Alfredo pasta one evening and it was OUTSTANDING. Also came with garlic bread and my night was made. Sometimes the bar service is not quite amazing, but if you force them to pay attention they will.

This restaurant get 3 stars based on its appearance and cleanliness. I was told to go here for the crab sandwich. At $ 23.99 it’s a little overpriced it left me wanting something else or more so for a lunch sandwich it was very very steep. Would I go here again, maybe, not eating the crab sandwich. There are too many other things to spend $ 23.99 on.

We split a bowl of New England Clam chowder($ 9). Had a great taste, but not many clams(which my wife would pick out and not eat, thus no picking). We also split the«Nick’s Famous» grilled crab sandwich, dungeness crab(from Washington and not California, crabbing still banned in bay area) with tomato on Wedemeyer grilled sourdough for $ 23.50. Since we were splitting the sandwich we decided to add avocado($ 2) and chess($ 1). Instead of french fries we had the eggplant fries. For $ 26.50 it better be a good sandwich, and it was. I definitely recommend splitting the sandwich. It’s a lot of food. Hard to describe the crab sandwich. Blended crab with their own sauce(similar to a tuna melt), but a lot tastier. The eggplant fries was definitely a good choice, but you must eat them hot. Great service. Btw, Wedemeyer is a local bay area bakery established in 1936. The bread on this sandwich was excellent.

We came here on a Sunday night and here is my suggestion for a nice couple’s dinner. This place is not cheap, but it’s a great location if you are staying in Pacifica for the weekend, had a good ocean view(if you are seated in the right spot) and service was fast and very friendly. At $ 15, the fish and chips entrée is more expensive than average for a coastal restaurant, it was good but nothing special. We shared that dish and added garlic bread($ 6), plus 2 beers, plus cheesecake for dessert($ 7). The total bill came out to $ 49 after tip. It was enough food and, for me, it had all the elements of a nice dinner I like: salad(a mini salad that came with the fish), beer and dessert, so I was happy. My husband, who is 150% my size was also full, but we are healthy people and don’t eat a ton, if you are a fatty, what we had probably wouldn’t do it for you. Our waitress was super nice and she was working other tables while checking on us at the right times, 5 starts to her. My husband thought it was«3 star food at a 4 star price», and you can definitely do better for that price in a different area, but I thought it was ok given the alternatives. This is a good place for a date night, service is fast, I saw many old people and a couple families, I liked the fisherman inspired decoration and our booth was the kind that has cushiony seats. Yay!

I want to first say that the only reason why this place is still open is because of its history and seaside location, most of it is literal crap(excuse my French). My boyfriend and I were in town to relax at a nearby beach. We waited an hour for a table, which was fine since they had a bar/cocktail room for us to sit in. We ordered drinks and a starter while we waited: A mango colada and a blue lemon drop. Both mediocre. The dining room was so little, old school and with a great view of the parking lot out front THEN the beach right behind it. There were SOOO many people waiting in the cocktail room that it got ridiculous. There was a HUGE dancefloor that wasn’t being used, awkwardly located in the middle of the cocktail room. I don’t understand why they didn’t utilize that space or extend out their dining room to accommodate the crowd. The entire place looks filthy aged and in need of a deep cleaning and renovation. When we finally got our table, the food became the next disappointment. We ordered the sole with vegetables and mashed potato, and then the seasonal vegetable risotto. Seriously, the risotto was not risotto, just really horrible overcooked rice. The seasonal vegetable? Sprinkles of corn on the risotto. The mashed potato came out cold, and the vegetables? two peices of boiled broccoli and slivers of carrots. We instantly lost our appetite, asked for the bill and jet. Being at a place like this always brings me back to my favorite Food Network show: Restaurant Impossible. I just don’t understand!!!

I made a reservation here for my 23rd birthday for 15 ppl after hearing such good stuff about this place! My guests and myself were not disappointed! I called in to reserve a party for 15 dining in on a thursday, they said they’ll confirm once they talk to the host and then they’ll call me back. They called back later on in the day briefing me about a policy they have for larger parties they offer a 4 choice menu of their appetizers, entrees, and desserts each; so they basically give you a chance to make your own menu for the party guests to choose from 4 options for each course of the dinner. They said i could make those choices when i came in and confirmed my reservation over the phone. On the day of my reservation, i came in and some of my party was already waiting with menus and i was able to ask them which dishes they could agree on. When the rest of the party came, it wasnt hard to decide which dishes would be most popular amongst us. For the entrees, we came up with the prime rib, seafood platter, she feast fettuccine, and the juicy burger. Just so ppl have a variety of options. After that we were seated at a long table nicely set up. The staff are very friendly, hospitable and attentive and i had no complaints from my guests about service. In fact, everything came out in a timely matter. The drinks, then appetizers, then entrees, and dessert. all paced out nicely. During the dinner, you’d see one of the staff members calling out to help celebrate with a guest on their special occasion by helping him sing a unqiue song according to the celebration. Very authentic and genuine and made the whole restaurant vibe feel like a family community. I didnt want that kind of attention, but one of my guests spilled that it was bday and the guy came over to sing a hey babe birthday song x) My party enjoyed the food and their time in general here very thoroughly, some of them their first time there! They said they’d definitely be back! The food may be pricey, but for the flavor, the view of the sunset/beach, and the good restaurant vibe id say it was worth it!

This place is a signature spot in Pacifica. My wife always gets the touted crab sandwich. Last time I got the mahi mahi with chimichurri sauce on special and it was delicious. So good I finished it quickly and she got mad that I didn’t let her try it. Haha. Also they serve up fresh made Garlic bread that’s super tasty. I can’t wait to try the calamari steak and other items here. With Joe’s of westlake in Daly City closed this place has the closest feel to that atmosphere.

I lived on Pacifica for 24 years and visited Nicks from time to time. appears that just about every time I visited the prices were increased. My wife and drove from El Dorado Hills(where I now live).yesterday to eat at Nicks. I could not believe how much they raised the prices!!! And for what, same portions, same lousy service… disappointing…I decided to get a clam chowder soup to go($ 9), expecting a good amount for the price… what a $ 9 joke. it came in a coffee cup, look at the picture. I will never visit Nicks again just to pay more for less… terrible place…2 star for the ok taste of the overpriced crab sandwich.
