Perhaps something has changed at wow café since the last several reviews were written, but my impression does not reflect anything anyone else has said. Being a lover of wings, I’ve been meaning to try wow for awhile and finally did today. Everyone on the staff was super friendly and helpful– I was even given a free sample. Prices were reasonable, selection was variable, and wings were pretty good. They have a bunch of really awesome drink specials($ 5 draft pitchers?!?) that I will definitely be back for! The only negative is the lack of curb appeal– they’re sort of stuffed in the back of the parking lot of a little strip mall.

Should have read the reviews beforehand. Took over an hour to get our food and the busboy was the only person who came by our table to refill our drinks. Waitress didn’t even stop by to apologize. The busboy and the hostess were friendly but the food wasn’t great. Don’t waste your time!

Omg– it’s Super Bowl Sunday. Biggest wing day of the year, and this place is empty — including the workers. Taking 15 – 20 min to prepare wings, with inept servers. Good was always decent, but if the zombies working here can’t produce the product, what’s the point! I hope this franchise closes down so done one that knows how to run a wing restaurant!

Worst wings fried to burn. Cold internal temperature. ordered wing sampler all 5 sauces watery and horrible. They need some lessons on wings frying from their neighbors BW3. Or remove wings from their Menu.

Like others here, I received terrible service here and the kitchen didn’t seem to be on the ball. All three of our orders were incorrect-through fault of our waitress or the kitchen I am not sure. The sides were wrong as well as the sauces. The orders took a long time to come out and still longer to be corrected. I am a vegetarian(I went with friends to catch up) so I only ordered cheese fries, and made sure to tell my waitress I wanted only cheese on them. When they came out there was bacon on them, and I told her I couldn’t eat them. She told me I «should have been more specific.» I thought I was! When the correct fries came out she continued to explain to me why the incorrect order was my fault. I don’t go out to eat to be fussed at. I won’t be returning here.

Not good. I met some friends there today — was greeted by 5 unbussed tables and seemingly nobody working the floor. We were entertained by each other so the wait wasn’t a huge deal, but we saw 3 tables leave while we waited for someone to take our order. Not busy enough for the to happen at all. I laughed when one 8 year old boy screamed«we’re going to Subway» as their family was headed for the door. It’s a shame. The wings were actually pretty good. The only person I saw working didn’t seem to take anything very seriously though.

I recently went to wow, and this place is horrible! When I first walked up they had three of the employees outside smoking and talking, as we’re walking in they finally start moving to serve us. They had 3 table with trash on them and no one was inside the place at this time. Me and my boyfriend sat down and waited about 10 minutes before a waiter asked for our drink orders, that took another 7 minutes to make. Finally we order our food which took about 20 – 30 minutes to come out, and as we’re finishing our appetizer we ball up the paper on the plate and reveal this yuckie plate that looks as if it hasn’t been washed in ages. It has finger prints all over and crumbs And smeared marks everywhere. I then asked for to go plates and they only had small plates which we had to take about 7 of them home inorder to fit everything we ordered. This place is nasty and the service is ridiculous. I will never go back there again they are very nasty and not clean at all. If u expect a clean plate I suggest u dont go here bcu nothin was clean. Honestly they should be shut down for something like this.

I normally eat healthy during the week, but in a moment of weakness, I found myself at WOW Café and Wingery in Mid City. I had never been to this location. I had been to the Covington location YEARS ago, and it was always VERY good. This visit… not so much. I stopped in to place and order to go. The person that waited on me at the bar was very pleasant, and I had no complaints there. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with fries. Since I normally eat healthy during the week, and this was a splurge, it really needed to be good! But it wasn’t. It was absolutely TERRIBLE. The tortilla was horribly stale. The chicken was overcooked and chewy and the entire thing was really mushy in the middle. And I couldn’t taste a lick of buffalo sauce. When I used to get this same item on the Northshore, the chicken was always hot and delicious and fried perfectly with some crispiness to it, which was a great compliment with the buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing. I really can’t even figure out how this one went so wrong with a bunch of ingredients that should’ve tasted good. I ate half of the wrap because I was hungry, and threw the rest in the garbage, quite upset that I wasted a cheat meal on something so unsatisfying. The fries weren’t bad, but they were just standard, frozen fries. Nothing to write home about. I don’t see myself ever going back to this place, when there are so many other better options in Mid City.

Worst service I ever had. Waited an hour for our food. Food wasn’t served completely. It was cold and they still tried to have us pay for our appetizer. I just walked out.

I’m done with this place. The service has gotten worse and worse over the past few years. Tonight we went there for cheese fries tenders and a buffalo chicken sandwich. The cheese fries showed up about 15min after the entrees when we were already done eating. We never got any refills. We hardly saw the waitress and we were one of only 3 tables in the restaurant. This is the 3rd time in a row(all in the last 6 months) that I’ve gotten absolutely terrible service here and I’ll never go back.

Meh. 40 bucks for two cokes, an app and 25 wings? They have a large selection of sauces, but none of them are spectacular. Food is decent quality, but nothing special, kind of like a Chili’s. We go here for football games occasionally because they are never very busy. Service is generally friendly and helpful. Next time I need to remember to go for the chicken tenders tossed in sauce rather than wings because it’s the same price and I would hope you get more chicken. Once upon a time they had beer specials during football season, but I didn’t see anything about it recently. Like I said, meh.

With all the good food being sold in this Mid City area how this place remains open? The service is poor, food never seems to meet the quality of most fast food places. Prices high for the neighborhood. When the new places open across the street I will be surprised if it remains open.

This place started here. I met with a friend of mind to catch up and review some business… We each ordered the Greek Caesar— my friend practices pescatarianism and somehow he wound up with egg at the bottom of his salad. It did cause some discomfort for him and he pushed the egg aside and continued eating. The drinks were decent but as a consistent connoisseur of all things alcoholic I’ve had better. I’m always in Mid-City so I’ll be back… Oh, can you guys hoist that McDonogh 35 helmet higher? LOL.

I, too, am curious how this place survives. When we walked in, the restaurant had that slight post Katrina mildew smell.(I’m big on smells if you can’t tell from my other reviews.) It wasn’t too bad, so when the server separated from her giggling cluster of coworkers to tell us to sit wherever, we did. The place was completely empty on Sat at 6pm except ourselves. We immediately ordered some Strawberry Abitas & were quite surprised to see them arrive at the table in pint glasses! I figured she poured the bottles into the glasses for us without asking but after one sip however, we realized something was off. We asked her about it after placing our order for some wings and she responded that it was a new keg so the first pours are always weird. «Wait!» I was dumbfounded. «Strawberry Abita on draft? Now way.» She laughed as if we were idiots for not knowing it was actually Covington Strawberry she served us, and asked did we like it? I told her I actually wasn’t a huge fan but it would do. If I wanted Covington I would’ve asked for it. I assure you, from a person who is obsessed with Abita Strawberry, it is not the same at all. The meal was just ok. I find the sauce flavors to be more sweet than anything else. It’s like thick corn syrup with a little flavor added. The hubs had the classic buffalo sauce with tenders and said it was just ok. I tried the Thai sauce with wings and was not really impressed with the flavor. Also I must admit I’ve never had bad sweet potato fries but these weren’t so good. They were thick and some were not cooked all the way through. The wings do have a lot of meat on them, I’ll give them that. One more note about WOW is the bathroom stalls. There are massive gaps in the sides and doors of the stalls to the point where the person outside at the sink can see directly in and you can also pretty plainly see the person in the stall next to you as well. It was awkward. The service was pretty spot on though but I attributed this to us being the only other table. I gave them an extra star for the fact that she was so overattentive. A family came in as we were eating, which must have pissed off one of the kitchen workers because after they sat, a large guy in an apron came out and turned off the OPEN sign. I think it was about 7pm at this time so I doubt they were actually closed. He left the beer signs on though. All in all I was annoyed at this place. I know I shouldn’t have such high expectations of a wing chain but with the limited menu they serve, it shouldn’t be that difficult to put in a tiny amount of effort. The mediocrity and the not so good food will send somewhere else for my wing fix in the future.

.39 cent wings are a treat. Tried to check in from there but Unilocal said I was too far away. Anyway, service was great and the wings are amazing.

I love wings. And I love spicy food. And I’ve never had a wing that was too spicy for me. Until now. If you like seriously spicy food — like you need a firehose in your mouth when you’re done — go try WOW’s Buffalo 13 wings. Tasty — you can actually taste the delicious peppers and vinegar. Then the top of your head starts to steam. We also had the Cajun flavored wings — they were quite tasty and only mildly spicy. We had fried mushrooms too. Dee-lish! The server was very nice and they didn’t give us a hard time about walking in 10 minutes before they closed. I’d go back.

Swung by WOW before heading to City Park last weekend. AMAZING tenders and possibly the best Ranch Dressing I’ve ever had!
