My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and it was so good. We had made a reservation for 8 and didn’t get seated until about 845. The hostess was not very helpful and a tad rude but after that the experience was much better. The food was fantastic. The dessert we got was the sex kitten and that was worth the trip.

When I went back, at the insistence of the same friend that I went with for the first time, I have to admit it was much better than before. I would generally attribute this to asking the server to not put a pound and a half of shallots in the main course fondue because that is what happened last time. We actually asked for no shallots which proved to be a good decision. The overall improvement of my experience is why I am adding a star, but only one because I still don’t think this place is worthy of 4 stars. We went for happy hour because they have 2 – 1 cheese and chocolate. We tried the«Creamy Crab’ for our cheese course which was actually pretty good. For the chocolate we went with the smores and it was outrageously good. I don’t like sweets so for me to say that is a big deal. Anyway, my advice is if you are curious about this place, try it out during happy hour because you will save a ton of money and get a sense of what their food is like. Since my friend is a melting pot aficionado, and we go out to eat a lot, I will inevitably be back to the MP so I will let you know how it goes next time.

This was a fun experience and I highly emphasize the word experience. The issue I have with this place is the price you pay and what you get. We luckily had a groupon which allowed for a salad and 3 meats each. The food was good and we got a dessert which was just alright. I feel like if we paid full price for this«experience» around a 100 compared to 40 we would have been outraged. We enjoyed our time there but will not be returning or really recommending it to others. When you think about it a 100 in New Orleans could take you to better restaurants around the city. At the end of the day go if you want the experience and then never look back.

I went back here recently and had a much better time by just sticking to cheese and chocolate. The Creamy Crab Cheese fondue was really good, and since we asked for no shallots and no scallions, was far less bitter than the last time around. They give you more than enough stuff to dip. The chocolate fondue is always delicious, we got the smores this time around and that was good. Stick to cheese, salads, and chocolate and you’ll enjoy yourself here.

I had a great time here. I am sure it is very dependent upon the server. The server is more important at this type of restaurant than others. We got a great server, so our time was great. It is a bit expensive, but the overhead for this style of restaurant is large. I was happy to pay. The fondue(s) was great! If you want a wonderful date place, this is where to go!

We have been here about 5 times in the past year and half. I usually went there with my 3-year old, my sister and her 5-year old. The reason I waited this long to post a review is because they have become just a child friendly place! They have kids menu, and they are super friendly and accommodating to what we need. Also, the food quality has not changed. The cheese and chocolate fondues are as exceptional as usual. Their meat and seafood quality are great! I definitely love going there more often with my family. One thing, though, expect to be there for about 3 hours. The dining experience takes time! But it’s all worthy!

Save yourself a lot of frustration and disrespect and go to the Baton Rouge location. This one has clearly gone downhill in the last few years. Also if you go on a double date they can not split the check.

Desserts are very good, but boiling your own chicken or meat on a stick with some Tony’s sprinkled on it just isn’t my idea of a great meal. I suppose it’s fun to go with a group but just wasn’t worth the price in my book

The quality of the food is not appropriate for the price. While I enjoyed the experience — it was a one time experience. The biggest thing that will keep me from returning was the fact that when I arrived with a larger group for my younger sister’s birthday, the waitress did not explain to us two things: #1 There was a deal for kids that was posted online and #2 that each serving of cheese would cost $ 10. And so, when she was like would you like 2, 3, or 4 servings, she never pointed out(and neither did the menu) that each«serving» was $ 10. I appreciated that they worked with the large group of kids and even offered them a treat. However, the fact that I paid several hundred dollars for a meal — $ 90 of which was just on cheese — is ridiculous.

Thanks to Camila, William, and Ray for making our 1 year anniversary so special. Great service, fairly priced beers, intimate setting, and going the extra mile really sets this place apart from others for special occasions. The nice greeting from the bartender and hostess, the card, and free champagne all made us feel special. Camila helped us out a ton figuring out the menu and being super nice.

Having been here plenty of times. My husband and I now see why we haven’t come here in years. The menu has changed but the quality of food for the price isn’t worth it. The whole idea of cooking your own food but paying like your not isn’t cool! The restaurant is dated! Needs to be upgraded. Looks exactly the same as it did when they first opened. The staff was okay we met I’m guess the manager and it seems his line was rehearsed. Don’t appreciate how there is a price per person now. Same old food as before definitely needs to revamped! Won’t be returning!

My wife likes the Melting Pot. So it was a great choice to for her birthday. The tables are set up in dimly lit alcoves so you get the impression it is just you and her. You can hear the other customers. but not like many restaurants where you feel like you are right there at their table. Add it all up and it is a win-win proposition, good food and she is happy. We arrived without reservations and was told we had a 30 minute wait. No problem. We sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of wine, figuring one glass there and the rest for dinner. My wife watched the bartender make a chocolate based martini and struck up a conversation on how to make them. Passed the time enjoyably listening to the little tricks you can use to enhance the looks of the different drinks. Finally our table was ready and we were seated. We had already looked over the menu and started off with the seasonal lobster cheese fondue. My wife loved it. You could see and taste the lobster in it. We split a California salad. For the main course, I had the Andouille sausage fondue while my wife settled for the vegetarian option. I ended up deciding I didn’t make the right choice. Not that the sausage was bad, but the sauces didn’t really go with the meat. With hindsight, I’m know that I would have liked one of the other meat options that I had tried on prior visits. But that is the risk you take when you try a different item on the menu. It was an enjoyable evening. Service was efficient, but discrete. We’ll keep going back.

For reference, three stars means A-OK…I can say, my most recent experience here was ok, and to be honest, I have had better. We went one Friday evening to celebrate my birthday, we were excited and my teenagers even took the time to dress nicely. The hostess was cold. She didn’t smile, she didn’t welcome us, and she looked annoyed that we walked into her restaurant well dressed and clean a mere 2 minutes after they opened. How could we expect to receive service in a clearly empty restaurant that opens at 5:00PM at only 5:02PM? I mean, how dare we? We even had reservations at 5:30PM. We were seated and heard a diatribe about how hard her job was.(um huh ok) She cast a gray cloud over the experience and when she asked if we were celebrating anything, I said no. I was afraid that any special treatment requiring effort on her part would come complete with an additional scowl and maybe a backhand. The server was nice. He was warm and personable. He was chatty and friendly the entire meal and we never had to ask for anything. I have nothing negative to say about him. I wont rehash every thing everyone else has said, so in summary– The food is fresh, and mostly good quality. The cheese is yummy, then they take away the yummy cheese and give you a pan of water to boil some meat. Then, they give you a pan of yummy chocolate to dip more yummy things in. Even though I knew it was going to be very expensive, I feel like I got snookered at $ 43 per person. The pork I was given contained what seemed like an excessive amount of connective tissues. I received as much vegetable as I did meat. I understand it is about the experience, however, I do not believe that the quality of the staff coupled with the quality of the meat and décor are worthy of $ 43 per person. Try it at least once, But stick with the cheese and desert unless boiled meat and vegetables are your thing.

Have always wanted to try this place. Kind of expensive, so we were happy to find a groupon. Atmosphere was pleasant. Our server Paula was kind of ditzy. Talked about herself a lot. She asked us if this was our first time, we told her yes. We expected a little more information on menu items and how it all works. Didn’t get either. My husband asked for a dark beer. She obviously didn’t know their offerings. Instead of going and talking to the bartender and asking what they had, she told him, we have Budweiser. Took forever to get water and the whole service was slow. Will say that the«bus boy» was very diligent in refilling our waters and keeping dishes cleared, When main course arrived, our waitress told us we could have more sauces if we liked. She didn’t come back until we were done, that was frustrating as we used up our sauces expecting to get more. Food was good, unfortunately our waitress made this not the greatest experience. Due to the slow and inattentive service, we decided not to do dessert. Will we return? Yes, but not to this location and if we can find another groupon.

This was my first time at a melting pot and needless to say, I loved it. I got a love martini(delicious) and my husband and I shared a 4 course meal option. The food was great, but my service could have been way better. The server was slow to get our food going and we had to ask several times for water. She blamed it on someone not showing up for their shift, but to be honest, it wasn’t busy. It was pricey in my opinion, but it’s fine for an occasional splurge.

Gotta the love the Melting Pot. I got the September Fondu Festival deal in my email a couple weeks ago, so my SO and I decided to go out for a nice evening of fondue! The deal included cheese, a salad, and an entrée. We started with the loaded baked potato cheese fondue, which was served with the standard bread, veggies, and apples. The fondue was cheddar and Swiss cheeses combined with their green goddess sauce, garlic and wine seasoning, and diced potatoes, topped with crisp bacon and fresh-cut scallions. It was a-mah-zing! We then each got a salad — the Melting Pot house salad for her and the California salad for me. The house salad has romaine and iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, croutons and sliced egg. She got it with a side of the house dressing, which is like a honey mustard, but more runny than creamy, and with a tang — very good. The California comes with mixed baby greens, roma tomatoes, candied pecans, and gorgonzola cheese, with raspberry black walnut vinaigrette dressing. The pecans were delicious! And the dressing was interesting, but a good interesting. The entrees included filet, shrimp, and chicken, and came with a myriad of sauces — ginger plum, terayaki, curry, cocktail, green goddess, and gorgonzola-bleu cheese. I liked all of them, but especially liked the ginger plum. It also came with some potatoes, broccoli, and mushrooms — standard. The whole meal was fantastic from start to finish. The server was friendly and fun, and management came around a couple times to ensure we had everything we needed. As for the price, Melting Pot is never cheap, but the service and quality of food you get is worth it.

I am going against the grain of the other reviewers. It was different, exotic and romantic. .and it was still daylight. The happy hour is pretty legit. Get $ 6 drinks before 7p. I wish my lemon drop had a lil more kick… though! The customer service was fine. Maybe they dropped some dead weight by my visit. My guy is so romantic. He couldn’t wait to feed me the first course. Cheese and bread, veggies etc. for starters. The main course was salmon(yum) dipped in the fondue thingy. We had to do a search and rescue on the mushrooms several times. The tuna was fresh mad the pasta was delish. Keeping in mind, we are dipping! I think this place is perfect for celebrations and group parties. Just be prepared to spend a little more for the extras. Ya got your cheese: EXTRA aNd oil… EXTRA . FWIW, this restaurant is a nice getaway from the everyday Nola spot.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a Melting Pot, but I remember them being much better than what we experienced at this one. Yes, it’s unique and romantic, but for the price, I expect better quality food. The chicken was fine, but the beef was tough, the lobster tail so over-seasoned that it was almost inedible, and the cream brûlée fondue dessert, way too sweet. There were positives. The California salad was great and the service was spot-on. Beyond that, the meal was totally forgettable. NOLA has a plethora of excellent restaurant options. This, unfortunately, isn’t one of them.

Flag this and get a tongue lashing, Unilocal stalker. That aside: I dropped by to say the Madison Melting Pot had such surly and distasteful service that I was turned off from ever patronizing again. However, I do love the fact the Chicagoland area MP’s make you adhere to the dress code. Tonight, FH Mgr. Heather took care of my request for my sorority sister Bday and allowed me to pay over the phone for her meal and giver her the Bday treatment. It’s my Sorority Sister’s fav place but in NOLA — it’s less likely that someone will trust you not to commit credit card fraud and actually take your number orally for payment. Either way, I’m happy. The Soror is happy. To quote Ice Cube, «Today was a good day.»
