Life happens, coffee helps. Especially P&G’s. As a New Orleans local, I’ve tried just about every shop in and around the city. New and old. This place is by far my favorite. Their pastries and quick-breakfasts are so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the tomato and goat cheese brioche and the power muffin! Great juices as well, and a super friendly staff.

Pulp & Grind has some of the sunniest staff I’ve encountered in New Orleans! I mention this because I know how difficult it can be to be not only«sunny» first thing in the morning but! in the face of people fiending for their first coffee of the day? It should be noted that I didn’t land here until 9am, a full two hours after they opened. The clouds of customer annoyances all morning had still not obscured the sun(c’mon, we all know how customers can be). The staff here is like gold, I tell ya. Five stars! The shop is tiny, with some seating, but you know the focus here is on grab & go, which is fine. This *is* the CBD. Cold brew is perfectly tasty and they have more than just one non dairy milk. Prices here are what give me pause. $ 9 for bottled juice that is not pressed right in front of you seems extravagant. I’m used to paying $ 7 for this, and that’s on the higher end. I instead opted for a tiny fruit salad for $ 4.50. I didn’t see any notes that the fruit is organic. These prices… what gives?

Found this place to feed my need for cold pressed juices while traveling. In house made and have a variety. I’m eating a lot while here, but at least I’m still getting my greens!!! Coffees, teas, muffins and bagel bombs also available.

Ive been living in Nola for 2 weeks now and I couldn’t find delicious coffee.(I’m not a Starbucks fan). I found this little place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. The coffee was amazing! I’m so glad I found it and it’s around the corner from my apartment! The brioche was ok. The space is small and quaint but I’ll def go back just for the coffee.

LOVED! Just stumbled upon this place and so glad I did! When you find delicious orange juice, the rest is bound to exceed expectations as well. Lavender honey biscuit was so amazing. Not too sweet; so fluffy. Blueberry raspberry muffin was also wonderful. Wanted to go back again and again. Too many delicious choices for just one stop!

A great spot to caffeinate and/or pound down some raw juice just a short walk south of the French Quarter. Though on the smaller side, the interior was always bright and open when my friend and I came by for our morning elixirs. A variety of juice mixes are available with bases ranging from carrot to beet and spinach/kale. Wellness shots loaded with cayenne, lemon and ginger can be had too for a mad spicy jolt. The drip, espresso and pour overs via V60 are made with a range of blends and SO roasts from Hey! Café(local NOLA roaster) and Sightglass Coffee back here in SF.

I was so happy to come here after being in Mississippi for a week with no good coffee around! The staff was great and the cappuccino is exactly what I needed. I also had a Ham & cheddar quiche for my breakfast and one of the best blueberry scones I’ve had in a while to go with my coffee.

Food & Drinks 4.5÷5 Service 5⁄5 Atmosphere 5⁄5 Loved their blueberry muffin, and my mom loved her mixed berries muffin. Café au laut(and other coffee options) are well priced and so delicious! They even make those little froth designs if you dine in. Employees got a complicated dine in then to-go order correct! Super welcoming people too. Fresh squeezed juices also available. Clean and adorable place, away from the hustle & bustle of tourists.

Yet another cute little NOLA coffee haven. Located in Lafayette Square on the corner of Camp & Girod. Pulp & Grind is small but big enough to grab a pastry, espresso & a seat while you recharge. Staff was pleasant. My cappuccino was deliciously prepared with a dab of almond milk for a $ 1 up-charge of course. I thought this was a bit steep but whatever; the heart desires what the heart desires… cost me 4 quarters but it cost them 2 stars. Whole milk alternatives are standard in 2016 people c’mon! ~Christy

This coffee shop was within walking distance to the hotel I stayed at during my Christmas vacation. It is small, but decently-sized for a coffee shop. They have bakery items such as croissants and baked eggs, yogurt, granola, and other items. The coffee was amazing. The staff are all very friendly and have character, which I love about independent coffee shops. I loved the vibe in here. I visited twice on my vacation but wished it were more!

One of the better coffees in the city and my favorite stop in the CBD. Always fast, friendly service and consistently good coffee. I usually get their cappuccino. I know, I know cappuccinos can’t be made large(well they can but admittedly it doesn’t work as well), but their barista will serve you a medium looking cappuccino without reprimanding or scorning you. The space is nice, clean and smallish. Haven’t tried the baked goods but most look big and topped with sugar so I’m thinking they can’t be bad.

Freshly pressed juice in a land of fried stuff, thank you for restoring my sanity while I was in town for a pharmacy conference. I stopped by here twice for fresh juice and yummy pastries. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful. The juices were good but pricey, I’m used to fresh pressed juice for around $ 6 in California. Still, a lifesaver and free wifi is a plus. The café is just adorable and perfect and I love spending some time here post conference before heading back to my hotel room.

Checked out P&G based on a recommendation from a barista at Spitfire. I was not disappointed! The quality of espresso was excellent and the quiche was on point too. It has more crust and less egg than most, but the crust was flaky and flavorful so I didn’t mind. The only negative was the size of the quiche– just wish it was a bit bigger or came with a small serving of fruit to really make a meal. I haven’t tried the juice yet, so won’t comment on that. Great service, friendly employees. Overall, if I was local I would definitely be back. It’s a refreshing break from the sugar bomb New Orleans coffee shops that seem to be taking over Unilocal reviews.

Found this get little coffee place around the corner from where I was staying at Lafayette Hotel. Great coffee(got the mocha both times) — as others have mentioned, only comes in one size but it is pretty large. I got the strawberry, pecan, goat cheese muffin one day and a brioche the next. They were both packed with flavor and filling(most pastries and breakfast items around $ 3 – 4.50 and all made in house). The one food they get elsewhere is the bagels. It is on the small side but was able to find seating both days late morning on the weekend. The staff are also very friendly. Update: the bagel bombs are amazing too!

I came here one morning before making my commute to work. I was staying at a hotel a few blocks away and saw this café driving back from work a couple afternoons in a row. Looked it up and thought I should take the walk before heading out. I will definitely say that this place was worth waking up 20 minutes earlier than planned. There was no line and the place is small. It is long and skinny with an industrial, modern vibe. They sell all sorts of pre squeezed juices but I was not into that idea or the prices really. But I ordered a latte with a little sweetener and it was beautiful. I love when a barista takes time to design your coffee even if they know you are just going to put a lid on it. At least I personally know that a little love is under that lid :). Also, they had a wide assortment of large muffins and some quiche and other pastries. But, I was tired and overwhelmed with a decision and asked the cashier to choose for me. I couldn’t have been happier with her decision to give me a blackberry, strawberry, walnut muffin. It was so moist and filling and fresh.

Bright, airy atmosphere and well crafted coffee. Bagel bombs are small but rich and definitely leave you satisfied. Coffee is expertly crafted. Even early on a Saturday morning in the CBD there is a constant stream of patrons in this tiny spot but it never felt crowded.

Stopped briefly here to pass some time on the way to a yoga class. Adorable décor with sort of a modern rustic. Patterned floors, sleek lines. The workers seem to be very happy. Good things for that. 1. People serving coffee in the AM should always be happy. 2. It indicates to me that they are treated well. I ordered a latte. Very good and the barista was happy to show off her skills with the beautiful leaf pattern. Nice touch! In Togo cups we don’t get to see that much. I wish I wasn’t going to yoga because I would have ordered a pastry of some sort. Muffins, turnovers, galettes, mini quiche. They all looked delicious. An assortment of juices are also available. Also available(as I use it to type this review) are MULTIPLE outlets to charge phones, comps, etc.

PULP&GRINDTAKE-OUTTAKEAWAYS: 1. At the site of the former«PJ’s» on Camp, this new airy café is from the«Satsuma» *** team. 2. Affordable: all pastries and quiches are priced between $ 2& $ 4. 3. The nutella muffin was moist but not very nutella-y, regardless it and a large café au lait totaled a reasonable $ 6.50 after tax. 4. Grounds are sourced from the«New Orleans Coffee Exchange» and all pastries are made fresh on premises. 5. Limited seating inside, however outside accomodates about a dozen and is pet friendly. BUTITDIDN’T WOWME, AND I HAVEN ‘T BEENBACK I’ve opted instead for nearby Merchant, CC’s or the Roosevelt’s Teddy Café. ***I’m no fan of the grungy yet over-priced«Satsuma» in the Bourgeywater, but thankfully P&G is a refreshing departure.
