Really enjoyed Saucy’s barbecue. The brisket was delicious. Also, the Cajun Carolina(pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw and Carolina sauce) was very good. I had a craving for good barbecue and this sure hit the spot!

We had the Cajun pulled pork and chicken Quesadillas. Both were fantastic! Lemonade was perfect. Highly recommend this place.

I had heard about this place from some friends and decided to try it. My only issue is that I wish I had tried them sooner. Both the food and staff were fantastic. New Orleans isn’t a city known for Barbecue but this place does a great job with it. We tried a 2 meat plate(brisket and sausage), a pulled pork sandwich, and a few different sides. Everything was great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because you need to park on the street. Since there are quite a few restaurants in the same area parking is always a challenge.

This place is AWESOME! I placed a large to-go order(15 people) online and they were super accommodating every step of the way. When I came in to pick up the order, everything was ready, labeled, and neatly packed. The owner even helped me to my car. The food was delicious! I couldn’t choose between the brisket and pulled pork, so I got the 2 Meat Plate. The sauce was delicious with just the right amount of kick. Loved it, loved it, loved. Best BBQ I’ve had in New Orleans since I moved here from Texas ten years ago!

So I walked by the other day and saw they had a Gouda burger, had to come the next day to try it and I wasn’t disappointed. When it comes to a burger the bun is key and this one was perfect. And the burger gouda combo was on point. My girlfriend ordered the brisket quesadilla, and as good as the burger was I was jealous as soon as she gave me a bite. This is one of those places where I plan to try most things on the menu. Best BBQ in nola I’ve had so far for sure.

Was at the WWOZ Fund Drive event where Saucy’s catered dinner and wow was it a treat. They gave us volunteers a great salad, jerk chicken breast, and the best beef brisket I have ever had and a mixed baked beans I have never had before. The salad was plentiful with a great Italian dressing, the jerk chicken was good and made a nice chicken salad if you wanted to. The stars of the show were the brisket and beans. The brisket was the most tender I had ever had, trimmed and pink. It was perfect in every way. One of the biggest problems I have with alot of BBQ places in New Orleans is the lack of great sides but the beans were excellent. Reds, and all kinds of whites and limas all mixed and baked together again they were excellent. This makes me want to go back and try the brisket again. Wow was I blown away.

This place is incredible. I know they have other BBQ places, but whenever I visit them they’re closed. The owner came out and talked to another table of Texans. He is a transplant from Austin, which is the«hipster» part of Texas. I got the opportunity to take some pics, and it was eccentric, clean, and authentic. A good combo for a New Orleans restaurant. I love most BBQ. The Joint, Hwy. 23, and even Voodoo BBQ,(except the experimental«concept» store on Loyola) – that place is a disaster. It’s more like a «Terminus» in my opinion. I cooked some boneless, skinless, thighs using my «homeless chicken» recipe(it was taught to me by a homeless man I bought groceries for) – instead of the $ 10 cash we wanted.(Wonder what that could have been utilized to buy?) I used cherry wood and zuppardo’s has the chicken. It’s perfect! I love BBQ! Can’t get enough. The owners of Bevi told me of some ultimate places I am still exploring. I thank them eternally… This is one they said was great, and they were«Johnny on the spot!!»

This is definitely a solid place to get some BBQ in New Orleans. Being from the south I naturally love me some good BBQ and this place is doing it right. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of their mac n’ cheese. It wasn’t crowded when I dropped in so my food came out pretty quickly. I guess I am just lucky because from what I hear this place is often packed. I was surpassed how thick the brisket is cut, not saying that is a bad thing, just not something I’ve had before. They are generous with portion size and I love that they give you the choice of several different sauces, I believe there were 4 on the table and maybe another 1 or 2 hanging out by the beverage area. What’s even better than sampling each one is the fact you can use as much as you want if you are like me and like a ton of sauce on your brisket. Something else I like was that they also give you the most amazing horseradish sauce in a cup to dip the sandwich in which was creamy and had just the right amount of spiciness. I enjoyed all the different sauces but I have to say the horseradish dipping sauce really stood out for me, granted I was dipping my sandwich that was sauced to the max, so I guess it was a collaborative effort on the part of the sauces. All in all I enjoyed myself and want to go back here and try the pulled pork soon.

Looking for some BBQ and glad we came upon Saucy’s. We got the family meal which included a rack of ribs, brisket and choice of sausage with 8 single sides. Fed 4 of us plus plenty to take home for tomorrow’s meal. Everything was soooo good! Ribs were tender, lean melt in your mouth brisket that came with a side of their horseradish. First time having alligator sausage which i dipped it in their mustard sauce. Definitely left the place satisfied.

Saucys BBQ is an amazing little spot on Magazine. the ribs are huge so order the smaller plate with just 2 or 3 ribs if just ordering for yourself. Best BBQ I had in Nola so far. Super friendly staff as well. Mac and Cheese is really cheesy too :)I

I’ve been to both Saucy’s and McClure’s and I think Saucy’s is the clear winner, and definitely the best BBQ I’ve had in NOLA. The ribs were super tender, like fall off the bone tender. This was in contrast to other places I’ve tried where the ribs were tough and difficult. They were seasoned to perfection. The brisket was equally tender, and wonderfully juicy as well. Both meats were absolutely divine, and I love that they have a bunch of different sauces you can use. Use their spicy sauce-it isn’t kept on the table, but on a shelf above the tables. There are other BBQ places in the city with more side options. However, no one, I repeat no one, has goat cheese mac and cheese. Saucy’s usually only has it on the weekends, and I usually call ahead to make sure they’ve got it. It is the best mac and cheese I’ve had in the city, hands down. And NOLA’s got some pretty slammin’ mac and cheese. I also like the sweet potato muffins, and the spicy coleslaw is pretty good. The staff is super friendly and they have lemonade and iced tea so you can make an Arnold Palmer. So happy to have Saucy’s right down the street from me!

I love Saucy’s! I am a picky, non-adventurous eater, so I always get the same thing: pulled pork sandwich and macaroni. Their pork is tender and delicious, and I always put the Southern Sweet sauce because it isn’t too spicy. The macaroni is a little spicy, but so worth it! It is BYOB, and there is a little convenience store a block over. It is also order at the counter and get your own water/tea, but I’m okay with that. The staff and kitchen are very quick and friendly. All in all, a good neighborhood joint.

This is my go to BBQ. Been to most of the other places around the city, but I always end up back at Saucy’s. If you’re dining in there is usually only 1 waitress and on busy nights the owners sometimes hang around and help out. It’s a no muss, no fuss kind of experience. They get a lot of take out orders which keeps them busy, but it will be obvious why the waitress is taking so long when you see the line at the counter. BYOB Sweet potato muffins — 5 stars, have ordered just these without any meat because they are that good Boudin link — 5 stars, mustard is delicious Pulled pork — 5 stars, get it with the bun Ribs — 5 stars, like both the regular and sweet sauce The only thing hit or miss are the sides. Some days they are 5 stars and others I won’t eat more than one bite.

We as a group got a little of everything. The spicy sausage was phenomenal, but remember when they say spicy, they mean spicy. As a Texan, I’ve had better brisket but that’s not to say this wasn’t a good piece of beef. Fat was melted and meat was wet. You’ll be happy enough. Their best plate we came across was the pork ribs. They were some of the best ribs I’ve had around. Sauce lovers rejoice. They have a large array of sauces spanning from sweet to vinegar based to hot, hence the name. Best barbecue I’e had in New Orleans and will happily return if in need of some good pork while around Uptown.

Juicy brisket. Fall off the bone ribs. Delicious boudin sausage. Creamy & cheesy Mac and Cheese. Crunchy slaw. Must I say more? I don’t, but I will! The 25¢ sweet potato muffins reminds you of Fall. Dunk it in the variety of BBQ sauces Saucy’s offers & thank me later. Boyfriend opted for the brisket sandwich(boeuf french 9 $) with blue cheese & a side of coleslaw. Stuff the coleslaw in the sandwich & get to eating. I love that they use the Vietnamese style French bread because it just adds that super light/crunchy dynamic. Best freaking sandwich I’ve had at any BBQ place. I can truly imagine the French bread soaking up the juicy goodness from the pulled pork(which is what I’m choosing next time I visit). The brisket was thick cut & oh so juicy. It seriously just melted in your mouth. It didn’t need any condiments because it stood so well on its own! I loved the boudin sausage. It was seasoned so perfectly. & it wasn’t mushy like other places. My only complaint is that the casing around the sausage made it really difficult to cut into. The horseradish sauce complemented the boudin like pb&j! Also, hands down best Mac & Cheese I’ve had at a restaurant. It was super cheesy & so creamy. Which I know I said already. But some places are a little too dry. This was done perfect. Spicy slaw was Okay. Definitely enjoyed it more for the texture than the flavor. It wasn’t spicy but maybe I just eat too spicy? Eh, wish I tried the bake beans instead. Seriously couldn’t have had a better experience! Very inexpensive lunch. Especially if you check in & get your 20% off. Our meal was 24 $

Excellent alligator links. Came here around 4pm so there was no crowd and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Price: they have a coupon deal on Unilocal!20% off which was pretty big since we wanted to try a bit of everything on the menu. The average sandwich was about 7 $ and the plates were about 10 $ so the meals were fair priced. Food: definitely recommend the alligator links it comes with creole mustard I believe. The sauce makes it superb. I got the two meat platter combo with the brisket and pulled pork because a lot of recommendations for it and I must say that was the only disappointing part. The meat was dry and even with the many sauces they had it wasn’t better than just ok. The dessert is my favorite. Their cheesecake was beautifully designed. The attention to detail is what makes eating out a worthy experience. Service. Was good. Friendly and readily available and attentive. She had some good recommendations too when we chatted with her. Ambience. Casual dine in restaurant. A bit small but that adds to the charm. They have live music once a week too so feels like a small town unique place to go. Recommendations. Get the alligator link and the cheesecake.

I’ve been on a BBQ kick ever since I had the brisket at The Joint. I’m on a bit of a mission to taste all of the brisket that I can get my saucy little fingers on. Saucy’s has some great brisket and they serve it with horseradish. I’ve never had it like that, and boy, I didn’t know what I was missing out on. It was a very nice and delicious touch. The brisket is tender and cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. For my sides I chose the potato salad and the baked beans. I liked both, but neither were anything to write home about. Service was good… no complaints there. The place is pretty small and a tad divey, but that adds to it’s charm. On the table there were four different sauces to chose from and I sampled them all and they were pretty good. Yay! Another great BBQ place in Nola!

Saucy’s is a solid BBQ spot on Magazine. For many years New Orleanian’s have had to deal with a dearth of good BBQ restaurants. Back in the early 90’s my parents took me to Tipton County Tennessee Pit BBQ which was located where Slice Pizzeria now resides. That experience blew my mind and made me a lifelong fan of BBQ. Unfortunately for me, it closed shortly after I visited, but I never forgot that experience and have sought out good BBQ ever since. Now that New Orleans is becoming a BBQ town, no longer will children have to wander the earth looking for high quality smoked meats. My trip to Saucy’s was a result of my primary BBQ spot being closed on a Monday and my deep craving for brisket and pulled pork. Saucy’s was not only open, but they served me some damn fine BBQ. Upon entering I noticed that Saucy’s is a relatively small place. I would imagine it gets crowded, but I got there right at opening and only a few tables were taken. The cashier taking my order was friendly and professional. A man I believed to be the owner was also behind the counter and fully explained the sauces to me when I asked. I could tell that he was very involved and loved what he does. That was even more evident when I sat down back at my office and sampled the BBQ. When visiting a BBQ restaurant for the first time, I like to try a few meats. This trip I decided on a two meat platter with sliced brisket and pulled pork. The pork was very good, but that brisket. Oh my. That brisket was smoky, tender and delicious. It was so good that I wish I had eaten in so that I could have picked the owner’s brain for tips on making my own brisket. To me, that brisket is amongst the best in the city. Even if you don’t think you’re a fan of brisket, I encourage you to try this version. It’s that good. I look forward to many more visits to Saucy’s. If you are a BBQ nut like me, I encourage you to give it a try.
