On our visit to NO, we wanted to avoid the well known restaurants, because sometimes quality suffers when attempting to live up to the tourist attraction tag. Read about newest places in the Times-Picayune and looked up Rebirth on Unilocal.Impressed with the raves, we booked dinner for four and couldn’t have been more pleased! That Cheshire hog pork chop could only be matched by our home grown Berkshire hog pork chop! I had the scallops and they were divine. The steak tartare appetizer was perfect, as was each order. Staff — fast, friendly and thorough. Will eat here every chance we get. We didn’t order wine as we usually do, so I can’t speak to the quality of their cellar, but our cocktails were great. Not noisy, though completely full when we were there. We recommended Restaurant Rebirth to everyone who asked where to dine. Also impressed with the«farm-to-table» approach which confirmed the freshness and wholeness(is that a word?) of the fare. Highly, highly recommend.

Are here twice because the Marriott hotel food(across the street) was making me ill(processed crap that really felt like it had no love). Rebirth has amazing attentive friendly staff, quality local food selected with care, creative dishes and a comfortable fresh environment. Recommend! Make a reservation in advance! Had the filet minion with lump crab on top and the owners moms chimmichurri recipe on the side — that was king! If you want to eat lighter, second trip, I had the fish of the day(snapper) with greens/other — also amazing! My colleague had the pork belly, which is smoked for 24hours, and it tasted/looked amazing!

On our recent trip home, I was looking forward to trying out this new«hot spot» that has been highly recommended among fellow Unilocalers. We didn’t want to deal with the hustle and bustle of the touristy crowds who only associate New Orleans with Emeril. Restaurant Rebirth has become a new favorite to come back to when we’re in town. First off, location is convenient especially for convention goers. They’re located on Fulton St. in the Warehouse District across from the Marriott hotel. The thing I really liked was that it was off on its own and away from the heavy crowds. Even if you were to drive here for dinner, parking was easy to find along this stretch of Fulton but make sure to feed the meters! RR has a cozy and intimate atmosphere– several tables and a bar right as you walk in but I would highly recommend making a reservation on Opentable just to be on the safe side. It’s not a gigantic space so it gets packed quickly which was evident the night we went. A reservation will help alleviate the wait time. Our party of 6 was treated to a wonderful«last night in Nola» dining experience. While pricing is on the fine dining side, you never get that feeling of a stuffy and pretentious atmosphere. We really felt comfortable and at ease. Btw, I think casual dress is fine. I actually wore jeans and a dressy top and didn’t feel at all underdressed. We started with cocktails. I had the Strawberry Lemonade cocktail which I really liked. It wasn’t sweet at all and subtle with the alcohol which is more along my drinking style. My husband had their Moscow Mule and theirs did not disappoint. Since this is a farm to table restaurant, items take some time to come out as everything is prepared fresh. This is a place to come dine when you are not in a hurry, but more to relax, socialize and linger. Which seems to be analogous to the N’Awlins way of life. ;) For starters, we ordered the oysters and angel hair appetizer. I liked that the oysters were not overly breaded and, instead, lightly crispy. The parmesan black pepper cream that it was tossed in was pretty amazing. I may have suggested that they make this a bigger portion for an entrée option. Apparently I’m not the only one that has mentioned. I wanted to try the Grilled Romaine and Fried Oyster(sense a theme– I love oysters) salad but knew I wouldn’t be able to finish so the restaurant was nice enough to split the dish in two for my sister and I. This is a rich dish because of the Caesar dressing and cheese but I would totally have this salad for a lunch time meal. It’s more than filling and you get your daily greens in the process. :) My husband had the gumbo and loooved it! They do different variations on it so make sure to ask when you visit as ingredients change on a daily basis. As if we weren’t already full, we also had full entrees. I was torn on a few menu items and since I don’t eat red meat/pork it narrowed things down. Thankfully, they have many seafood options to choose from but don’t forget to ask about the house specials too. I went with the Blackened Scallops and they were nice enough to omit the tasso maque choux(has bacon) with another option off the sides list. So my Blackened Scallops came with gnocci with mushrooms and the fried fingerling potatoes with a sweet chili saffron glaze. The dish was plentiful– more than enough food to share but that depends on how hungry you are! I liked how tender the scallops were and coupled with the potatoes, it was very filling. My husband had the Double Cut Tomahawk Pork chop. That thing was huuggge. Seriously, I marveled at the size of it and thought, for sure he wouldn’t finish it. Let’s just saw he did and he kept raving about how good it was and the way it was prepared. Especially THATGLAZE. And dinner can’t go without dessert ! We decided to order a trio of desserts and share– Café Au Lait Crème Brulee, Chocolate Marquise and their Bread Pudding(not yet on the website). Honestly, I only tried the first 2. I loved that the crème brulee was coffee flavored and had little chocolate espresso beans and mini beignet balls! Yum! If you love rich chocolate with a sort of firm pudding texture, you’ll love the chocolate marquise. Very indulgent. Everyone raved about the bread pudding so I will have to try that next time! Overall, great dining experience that exceeded our expecations. The staff was attentive and really made a point to check between different parties since it was a full house. A cool thing that I picked up on is that they are open on Monday nights while most restaurants in the area are not. Good thing to note when planning your visit and that might explain the large parties that evening.

Had the red grouper for the fish special. The greens were phenomenal and the fish was perfect. The service was wonderful, helpful and attentive. The manager stopped by several times to chat and take good care of us. We finished with the bread pudding and the crème brule, both were amazing. Make sure to get a reservation and go to this restaurant.

This is a very new establishment which has room for growth. The service was friendly, the food was good and the atmosphere was lively. I do not suggest you go there very hungry, the entrée portions or small with a long wait for your food. They have fine dining prices with a very limited wine list and they have not yet perfected the fine dining experience. They might get there with time. In summary, there is nothing wrong with this place but there is nothing special about it either. I have no desire to return.

I have found my new favorite restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. Intimate without being loud. The food was every bit as delicious as I imagined from the menu. I started out with the fried oysters over some angel hair noodles. There was nothing about it I didn’t love. It looks heavier than it was, but ended up being perfect appetizer for me. Main course was a difficult decision, but I went with the blackened scallops. That dish was perfection. It’s going to be hard to try something new next time, because I’m just going to want that. Finally, since I couldn’t stop eating, I got a dessert of crème brûlée that I think was coffee flavored with a few crisp beignets on top. If that doesn’t sell it I sat at the bar and had Leonard take care of me. Along with his cheery demeanor, he also had some great recommendations, and made a mean old fashioned. Will absolutely eat here again. And again.

Delicious and interesting dishes. I had the shrimp and eggplant, Fried in a ball which surprised me but was still fairly light somehow. The crème brûlée with beignets on top was perfection. A great saturday night decadent dessert. The staff was very friendly. I didn’t have a reservation but hostess had me seated at the bar and Leonard took great care of me. There were several locals stopping in for dinner also seated at the bar who were so friendly. Great ambiance and experience.

This place is new, but everything runs smoothly and on point. I came here by myself for dinner, but I didn’t feel alone. Servers and owner took the time to chat with me when they could. They were very patient and kind considering how busy it was on a Monday evening. I was also seated by the kitchen and really enjoyed seeing everything working in the kitchen. It’s a modern Cajun take on food, but by this point of my vacation I was worn out from so much seafood. I chose a salad, filet mignon, gnocchi and mushrooms, with some Mexican mules instead. Everything was what food heaven is made of! The service was top notch too. My drinks were mixed to perfection. I cannot wait to go back and bring some people with me. I wish I had room for dessert.

Amazing dinner. We started with he pork belly which is not to be missed. 12+ hours in the smoker and it was lights out delicious. I had the pompano al ajillo which included oysters and crab is a wonderful garlic sauce. So good Service is spot on and the location in the warehouse district is both easy to find and convenient. Manny, the owner, made it a very memorable meal. Will definitely be back again.

Y’all, say y’all, this place is where you need to be, no lie. This has been unfairly bookmarked for way more time than it should have been before i made my way in here. Made reservations because you know when you have a fine dining spot with impeccable ratings, it’s best not to try your luck on a walk in. My intent was to do the V-day dinner here but they’re closed on Sunday, so note that. Let’s get to it, twas my date and i and between the two of us we ordered: Pork Belly(appetizer), 2 glasses of wine(1 Puydeval Cab, 1 Malbec), Filet Mignon, Tomahawk Porkchop and a Crème Brûlée for dessert. All that delicious food for only $ 118.81! I was expecting to pay more than that but, who’s complaining? Not me. First you MUST, i repeat, MUST get that pork belly appetizer, it is freaking phenomenal i tell you! Smoked to perfection(in house) with their special glaze, the greens, the okra… YESLAWD! It was the perfect introduction that set the tone for what was to be expected from the rest of our dishes. I had the Tomahawk Pork Chop and it is a behemoth of a serving over a bed of greens, cooked to perfection all the way through. Each bite was a juicy and savory slice of heaven. I actually couldn’t finish it, which is rare, especially considering i went in really hungry. I also saved space purposely for dessert because i just had to see what it was hitting for. My date had the Filet Mignon as she just can’t pass up a good steak. That thing came out sizzling, the staff urged caution in your approach and they weren’t lying, i could feel the heat coming off of it from my side of the table. Nothing like a good filet and they’ve got it, and everything else from what i could tell, down packed here. Leaving room for dessert, i had my first ever crème brûlée. I don’t know how it pairs up to other places that serve this light but sweet treat, but my eyes lit up after the first bite. Man, those guys in the kitchen deserve all the praise. So much love put into each dish, i wanted to go back there and hug each one of them. Service and staff were on point all night. Manny, whom I’m guessing is the manager was doing a great job at making everyone feel welcome and giving a bit of background to some decorations in the restaurant and their in-house methods of handling certain meats. It was all a great experience, i could not be happier with Restaurant Rebirth. Definitely top 3 recommendations i would offer anyone looking for a fine dining place in the city. Great job, y’all, really, bravo!

Such good food. We got the pork belly as an appetizer and it was incredible. Then got two different seafood dishes — scallops were insane. Some of the best I’ve ever had. This is a newer restaurant but I would highly recommend it.

During our recent weekend in New Orleans, Unilocal reviews led us to discover this new«farm-to-table Cajun Creole» restaurant in the Warehouse District. Mr. Jones enjoyed the soup Du Jour, which happened to be seafood chowder. He’s quite picky about seafood chowder and he loved every drop. I wasn’t certain about the combination of fried oysters on top of grilled mushrooms in a cream sauce on top of angel hair pasta, but the Oysters & Angel Hair appetizer was delicious, and I had to finish every bite.(It’s a hearty, rich dish, so next time I might order as my entrée. For our main courses, Mr. Jones enjoyed the Gulf Seafood Al Ajillo entrée of fresh gulf shrimp, crab claws, oysters, and fish broiled in a sauce of white wine, parsley and olive oil. It’s served with french bread to sop the sauce, but was a little heavy on the sauce but the seafood was fresh and delicious. Our favorite dish of the night was blackened scallops and fingerling potatoes served on top of lobster and Tasso maque choux with a sweet chili glaze. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the dish delivers the restaurant’s «Cajun Creole» concept. All of the food paired perfectly with a bottle of champagne from the wine list. We couldn’t resist sharing bites of the Café Au Lait Crème Brûlée from the dessert menu Our service from John and Justin was fabulous. We found the restaurant to be casual but fine dining with fantastic service. We will put Restaurant Rebirth on our«must do» list whenever we return to New Orleans. See pictures of our entrees here:

AMAZING!!! We happened upon this place While in town for a convention and could not be happier that we did. Start to finish the meal was top notch. Service was friendly and they were on everything. My suggestion would be to make a reservation. We were there on a Monday night at 8 pm and every table was full!!! we found out they had just been open a month so I’m sure they will only get busier as people find out this little gem hides in New Orleans. Dinner took almost two hours so don’t be in a rush, the style was more to the European style of dining.

I always attempt to try a new place every trip to NOLA. It’s hard to get away from my favorites but this one looked promising so we gave it a whirl. It’s a small space but the tables are well spaced and comfortable. Service. Excellent. The owner came out and spoke which is always a plus. Food? Outstanding. All of it. Gumbo. Superb. Fish. Superb. Sides. Superb. Wish we were hungrier. I wanted to try it all. Go. It’s good.

In the creole food capital of the country, opening a restaurant with a modern take on creole cuisine is hard to pull of, but as is obvious from my rating, Rebirth has succeeded. The space is small but comfortable, with a charming yet prototypical New Orleans finish out. We tried two appetizers, the Quail La Louisiane(foie gras boudin stuffed quail) and the Shrimp and Eggplant. Of the two, the Shrimp and Eggplant was better executed, but only because the boudin was a bit too rich. The Blackened Scallops(with lobster and tasso maque choux) entrée was one of the best dishes I’ve eaten in New Orleans. I also sampled their 8oz Filet Mignon, the pork chop, and the gulf fish(Mahi Mahi). The filet was perfect, the pork chop was a huge portion and also cooked to perfection, and the fish was good but the gnocchi it came with was slightly bland. Their cocktail menu is decent but I expect it will improve in time. However, their wine selection is excellent. For dessert, we shared the Café Au Lait Crème Brûlée, which was nearly perfect. We fought over the last bite despite being very full.

I took my in-laws here on a Saturday night, which was risky because it is so new, but it turned out to be a great decision. The servers were attentive and friendly without smothering us, and we sat at the table nearest the kitchen so we could see the chefs working — their focus and efficiency was very impressive. My only complaint(and the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars) was the lack of vegetarian food on the menu. The only veg friendly option was a salad, which I ordered(and enjoyed) as an appetizer, but given that there were no entrees I could eat, I asked the server if the chef could make a vegetarian entrée. She seemed a bit put off by the request, but she nonetheless agreed to ask the chef. I expected a simple vegetable pasta, as that is what I usually get when I ask for a vegetable dish at a exclusively carnivorous restaurant, so I was pleasantly surprised when she brought me a beautifully plated dish of roasted mushroom linguine served with braised collard greens with chickpeas and hominy. It was so creative and delicious, I dare say they should add it to the menu! Overall, my husband and in-laws were very happy with their meal and with the restaurant choice, so I’ll consider it a success.
