By far the worst steak I’ve ever had. Very salty. And chef even messed it up twice. So I’ll never return and do not recommend this place. Wines are also terrible. Service was great.

Delicious steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, empanadas, avocado and hearts of romain salad, gnocchi, and ice cream cake. The party I went with got the chefs menu– highly recommend. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly. Ambience is very nice as well– exposed brick, dimmed lighting, beautiful bar. I will definitely be coming back.

This place knocks it out of the park! Easily one of the top three steaks I’ve had in my entire life, trumped only by Peter Luger in NY. We had flash fried brussels, asparagus, and mashed potatoes as sides. Every single thing was phenomenal. They have an interesting«choose your weapon» type gimmick with their steak knives. They come around with a box of different looking steak knives and you get to pick which one you want to use. I asked our water if it actually made a difference, and he said no, its just for show. But I think it’s fun! I highly recommend making a reservation as it can be very difficult to get in here on busy nights.

The BEST steak place in New Orleans! EVERYTHING is amazing, never had something that I didn’t like here. Wine selection is great. The provoleta cheese appetizer is a must… SOOO good. The first time I had ever had a skirt steak was here, and now I always order it. The steak is always cooked perfectly, you don’t even need to use the sauces. Get the gnocchi! And the grilled asparagus. And the garlic fries… Just get everything. And end it with the flourless chocolate cake. The workers are awesome, and the new space is great as well. My favorite date spot. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Excellent service and excellent food. Steaks were top notch and the sauces they are served with are great too. The garlic fries and flourless chocolate cake are a must as well. As a side note, they can grill your steak Pittsburgh style, which is a rare find.

I was excited to come here with the new location. I knew the food was gonna be good since I already went to La Boca when it was small, however we had a 8:30 reservation for 6 people. Who all by the way work in the industry and an owner of a restaurant with us. With that being said we were all having a good time enjoying great food and company. We ordered our desserts and then we wanted some more wine. The waiter came to the table with the check and said the bar was closed. He did not offer us coffee or espresso. He just basically slapped us in our faces by saying the bar is closed with out telling us the bar will be closing will anybody like anymore alcohol beverages. We were appalled by the way they treated us. Someone came to the table to give us excuses, but we didn’t want to hear it. We payed the $ 622.84 bill. They also put gratuity on our bill knowing who we were. The front of the house manager had already left. I don’t think he would of allowed this since he knew the owner of the restaurant very well. We will NEVER come here again This is not the way to treat guest. I would never allow this if I owned a restaurant. So, if you have a big party don’t have fun and try to get your alcohol beverages in before 10:20 cause they will not communicate that there trying to close and get you out! Very disappointed.

Wish I could give this 6 stars. My boyfriend and I LOVE this place and we’ve been going every other week lately. I usually am very much a sauce person when it comes to meat, but the quality and cooking styles end in steak with such incredible flavor. I particularly like the Outer Skirt Steak cooked with skin on. It comes with some sea salt which I love sprinkling on top. I would suggest not ordering as many appetizers and spurlging your appetite on the meat instead. Also have a really great wine selection.

You have to grab 3 friends to go here for the tasting menu!!! I’ve been here about 3 time and always do the tasting menu. This menu is only for minimum 4 people and you share a 7 course meal! First they bring you a personal salad, then gnocci to share, then meat pies to share, then sausag to share, then whatever steak you chose, then finally share 3 desserts! its between 50 – 60 per person and so worth it. The gnocci is the best in the city, I almost liked it more than my steak. The steak is cooked perfectly. Ive had the flank and the filet. I would go with filet everyday now. Keep up the great work!

Man, I really like this place. Nice space, smallish but too stuffy, almost casual vibe. Nice u-shaped bar in middle of the place with good drinks and pleasant bartenders. Great steaks(grass fed and not drowned in butter). I like the variety of dipping sauces. Sides are really gooch too — garlicky fries, great mashed taters and large creamy gnocchi. If you go with 4 or more and they’re not too rigid try the tasting deal-it’s only $ 50 and you get choice of steak, adequate apps and couple difference sides.

WOW! This place was great! Brought my family here and everything was amazing. I had the 20oz. Ribeye my dad had the 16oz. NY Strip my mom had the 12oz. Fillet my wife had the gnocchi with pancetta and cream sauce and my aunt had the squash pasta. The steaks were perfectly cooked. We all had different temperatures as well and all were cooked spot on. The pastas were clearly homemade and tasted great. We also ordered the grilled asparagus, mashed potatoes and fries for the sides to share. Again, they did not disappoint. Great flavor on all of them.
They gave us sauces for the steaks but no need! They were good dont get me wrong but the steaks were seasoned to perfection. If you want to get away from the same old creole and spicy N.O. food and have a phenomenal steak and/or pasta this is the place to go. We will definitely be back!

This place was magnificent! Truly something special. You have a eat meat to enjoy this place– I assume they have other things– I am unsure. So it is a steak house– we got steak. Went with a friend who bills himself as a country boy who hates fancy restaurants where the portions are small and you don’t know what anything is. We went early on a weekday for dinner. Here’s how it shook out: GOOD: FOOD!!! the special was a flank steak empanda– lovely. I got the filet — medium– it was tender, cooked to perfection and huge! He got something charred– also medium– also lovely. We got grilled asparagus to go with it and between us both licked the plates clean!(well that’s not true I could not eat all of mine and he had to finish it). We had a lovely malbec to go with it– the waiter was fantastic about finding something that would fit both of our tastes. Dessert was the dulce de leche crepes with ice cream– insane! The ambiance– small restaurant– intimate but beautiful Nice touches– when you order — they bring a drawer of different types of knives for you to choose from. I chose stainless steel — honestly because of the handle– heavy and I like the feel better than wood or plastic– it happened to be sharpest and the cut was nice. Also– they bring three different chimichurri sauces to the table– regular, spicy(yum!) and roasted garlic(cop out). I cannot say enough about this place. Bottom line– I wish I could say this was an everyday place for me– still kinda special and I love everything about it.

Steak Night Part 4! I’m a big fan of this place and all its Argentinian steak glory. They have a pretty good modern vibe that reminds me more of a cocktail longe than a steakhouse, but when you’re serving up delicious, juicy steak the atmosphere can be whatever it needs to be. The long and short of it: 1. Steak. The reason you’re looking at this place. Look no further. The steak was incredibly good, boardering on great. I asked for mine medium-rare, and thats exactly what I got, I honestly don’t think a steak could have been cooked more on point. Plus points for excellent presentation as well. 2. Sauces. I don’t typically put anything on my steak, but they present you with a treo of steak sauces to flavor your steak with. They were good, but I felt like I was trying to doll up something that was perfectly fine as it was. It’s nice that they give you the option though, and each is worth a try. 3. Apps and Sides. We got the bruscetta which was pretty good, but I got a side of asperagus that complemented my steak perfectly. Both were large enough to share between 2 or 3 people so I recommend splitting either. 4. Atmosphere. It’s nice and modern, I felt like I needed a cocktail with my steak so I forewent my usuall glass of wine and went with a Martini. Whichj brings me to… 5. The Bar. Not much of a beer selection but they can make you just about anything and make it well. One of my friends ordered something that sounded like an album title for a Sweedish metal band and the waitress didn’t bat an eye. She just brought him something quite delicious and boozy. My martini was more conventional, but still delicious. 6. Price. Its nice steakhouse price appropriate. Don’t come if you dont want to shell out some cash for quality meat. 7. Things you should be aware of: — For pretty much any weekend night, a reservation will be required — You don’t have to dress nice, but you’ll feel out of place if you don’t La Boca ranks in my top teir of New Orleans steakhouses. This says nothing about the steak scene in NOLA, and everything about the meal that I had there. If you’re in the area and feel like a quality cut of meat with some latin flavor, its a must hit. Enjoy! Overall Grade: A

So the other night, my husband and I had one of our BEST date nights, ever, here. This big room is the perfect setting for a date. Its really dark and cozy and has«romantic» music playing. The décor is perfect. We couldnt stop talking about all the interesting items the have in here. The top of the bar, if you were to look at it from above, is shaped like their embelem. Pretty cool. All of their light fixtures are covered with steel grill grates. I was so embarassed, but even though I went to a steak house, I ordered pasta. I have to imagine it was just as good as the steak would have been. It was a pancetta and cream sauce dumpling thing and it was amazeeee. It was a huge portion as super rich, so I ate on it for a couple of days. The only thing I had that I wasnt crazy about was their special drink of the night, «The Watermelon Drink». It was super chunky and had a good bit of cucumber without any added sweetness; so it tasted more like a health drink than a cocktail(health drink plus vodka). This was our first visit to the new location, but we will definitley be back!

I absolutely adore La Boca! The food is very delicious. This was my first trip to their new location, but I like the new digs… it is a little more upscale than their previous location, but didn’t distract from the food or feel of the place(La Boca has always felt somewhat casual and the ambience matched the food). We bought a couple of bottles of wine from the home cellar to enjoy with dinner, and the wine service was very good. The service staff handled our bottles with care, the glassware was of good quality, and they decanted where appropriate. I didn’t check the final bill for the corkage fee, so unfortunately I can’t pass the information on in this review. We did the Gaucho plate for an appetizer which was wonderful — I am basically obsessed with the grilled sweetbreads! We had the fries, which are always wonderful here, as well. To be honest, I believe that we ordered all of the sides from the menu, and not a single one was disappointing in the least. Everyone ordered their own steak(the first time that I haven’t done the whole order a bunch of meat and cshare it here), my own was wonderful… I ordered the hanger — seasoned and cooked perfectly to my order. As far as prices go, the steaks range from roughly $ 23 — $ 35 if memory serves. You might be thinking that sounds pretty cheap for a steakhouse, but these aren’t your traditional steakhouse steaks. They serve the cuts popular in Argentina, so it is flank, and hanger and sirloin and the like rather than Filet and Ribeye and New York Strip. What I can promise you is that whatever steak you order it will be amazing! If you have not yet been to La Boca, give it a shot. I am sure that you will enjoy it as much as I do!

Extremely heavy, extremely flavorful, extremely not-diet-friedly. The only way to fully experience this intimate steak house is to go with ATLEASE4 ppl(double date, all parties involved can NOT be on a diet, or invite three of your fat friends/foodie friends). Order a bottle of wine to start, any of the appetizers, then order 4 steaks, as well as ALL of the sides(asparagus, Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, french fries) AND the potato gnocchi to share. That’s the only way to do it. Bonus Appétit!

Move over delmanico, la boca is our new favorite steak house. We first started with the Argentine patties which was amazing. Imagine a Jamaican beef pattie but 10x better. And there was the steaks. Cooked to how you like and it was well seasoned…

Fantastic atmosphere. Make a reservation several days in advance or just sit at the bar. The bar tenders are amazing. I got a sazerac and it was very good but sweeter than i am used to. Good though. Got the squash and ricotta empenadas to start and they were fantastic. I am not a squash guy but she is. they was awesome and i would get a million of them. the bring out steak sauces at the same time that are also good on the empenadas. the three sauces are all good; parsley pesto, horseradish, paprika. all great. I got the Kobe and it was amazing. The rub was a little too salty for me but overall fantastic. She got the La Boca which was the winner of the night in my opinion. Just really really good. We got them both medium rare and boy were they rare. Everything was great. The only downfall in my opinion is no free sides. Hahah. I know that sounds cheap and tacky but $ 36 for a steak is a lot. Just give me some potatoes or something. Not much needed but just something to just make me feel a little better. Great place. Great steaks. Great service. Great atmosphere.
