This is a great neighborhood bar in the Warehouse District. It’s nothing fancy, and perhaps that’s on purpose as this place is really laidback with chill people. We came here to watch football, and all of the TVs were turned on, playing the game while the bar was filled with locals. We ordered Long Island Ice Teas here, which were strong and good. Unfortunately, they stop cooking at 5PM, but I’ve been told by the locals that the po boys are really good here.

This place was delicious! I normally don’t write reviews but this place deserved 5 stars! I’m in NOLA for a convention and this was the closest place to eat. I got the oyster po-boy and gumbo and they were amazing! Especially after we went to a super hyped place for the same thing the previous night and were sorely disappointed. Super good for a small hole in the wall place :)

Friendly, locals bar in a neighborhood with lots of old trees and grass. Enjoyed a Manhatten making experiment with the bartender since NOLA is a sazerac town. I like sweet drinks so ended up with extra cherry and sweet vermouth in the finished product. Jambalaya was decent. Would like to try it fresh from the Dutch oven tho.

Corner bar with good food, nice folks and good conversation. I had the shrimp po-boy; shrimp was good, could have used a little more mayo as the bread was dry. My husband had a gator po-boy and he raved about it the entire time! He said it doesn’t taste like chicken; but had a nice gamey taste, of which he is now addicted. The sauce was nice with a mild kick if heat.

this is some great stuff right here, that makes this city awesome … we had poboys and muffalottas, onion rings cheezy fries and okra. huge portions, and great food. lovely place. Romy is one of my fave bartenders up in here. we came in the night before to dress for anne rice ball, and very accomodating. then came back the next day to eat. thank you everyone for being so easy to work with and helping us to make for a great evening. cheers.

This is my favorite place to hang out in New Orleans and watch the Saints game. Everyone in the bar is very friendly and the po boys are amazingly delicious. The bar itself is dog friendly and even kid friendly during day hours. I would highly recommend you swing in for lunch and grab a drink. Everything is reasonably priced and the atmosphere makes it totally worth it. One major plus, l to the corporation is that more than likely, the owner will come sit and have a drink with you. It’s a very family ran business and has a great southern comfort vibe. Check it out!

Loved this place and went back every day for lunch. Real local flavor and the food is very good and reasonably priced. No reason to travel all the way to the FQ when you have a place like this by the Convention Center. Bartender insisted that I have a piece of the Chantilly Cake that someone brought in. Would not take no for an answer. She won, it was very good. Even if I am staying elsewhere, I will make a trip back to the Corporation the next time I’m in NOLA.

This is a bar. This is a good bar. Cheap booze. Friendly service. Good music(no Justin Timberlake or Fergie or the like). Go and enjoy. If you make it in during food service hours you’ll get some good old southern style greasy fried food. Great! But do not watch the preparation. You’ll wonder if health inspections are required here. Sounds like a bit of a slight but honestly, really good.

Amazing! Little seating but worth the quick wait. We ordered a special plate– fried oysters, fried shrimp, fried catfish, bread and a side for $ 16!!! Such good food for a small price and very filling!

A Haiku about the place: When in New Orleans Po Boys, Jambalaya, Boss Alligator rocks As others have stated, if you’re near the convention center, this is a place you must visit. Total hole in the wall on a corner a few blocks from the convention center. We sauntered in for lunch and a couple of shared an alligator Po’ boy and a sampler of Jambalaya, Red beans n’ rice, and Gumbo. All were excellent and the prices were super reasonable for the area. The Jambalaya and Gumbo were exceptional and either is worth getting by themselves. Great folks work here as well — very friendly and definitely down to business. You order in the back, pay at the bar and then find a spot to sit. Word to the wise — grab seats when you come in to make sure you’re not kept standing. Definitely a place to hit up to get some good Bayou cooking! Kitchen closes early a number of nights so best to grab lunch here or get it to go.

If you are near the convention center and even if you are not … This place is a MUST! The gumbo is better than any tourist trap you will find in New Orleans! Judy home cooks everything from scratch and you can taste to he difference! Come spend a day with the locals. cheap beer, quality home cooked creole food and good people, It’s the only way to experience this city!

I’ve been here for 5 months, working here from out of town. I’m not a local. Here it goes: Po Boys — killer. Its soft oysters, shrimp, catfish, gator, or anything plus good bread and love. Definitely tasty. So stop bitching. I never get here between 11 – 5, but I’ll wait anyways till Sunday. The occasional crawfish boil is great as well. Attitude — it’s for the people. Cheap drinks, good music, anything goes. Even if a lame movie shoot or Metroplitan dance show is on, «so let’s watch a game and talk.» Bar — you wanna drink? You wanna dance? Read my last paragraph dumbass. It’s for the people. This is where people = corporations, sarcastically. As in, this is where corporations suck and people are good.

The Corporation is a unique restaurant/bar. They don’t care if you are happy with their food or service. They just offer what they have, and they are proud of it. Unlike other restaurants, you can smoke inside the restaurant too. We came here for lunch during a conference at the nearby convention center. You go all the way back of the restaurant to order, and the oldish lady(I think she was a lady) takes your order.(careful not to ask any dumb question, like, can I pay here?). The sign next to it, «Today’s menu: Take it or Leave it!» says a lot. I got scared a bit, and as I expected, I got scolded when I asked to put a sauce on the side. A girl who was ordering something before us left this place when told«go home if you want something we don’t have.» I would never come here if I were alone, even if I know her intention isn’t to hurt anyone. Regardless of her attitude, the food is authentic and honest. They don’t make it look pretty or fake it, local dishes with local ingredients. I finally felt like I was in New Orleans after having gumbo & jambalaya here!

Nearly 5 stars, but a faulty red beans and rice dropped it down nearly to a three. We came here between rain at the tail end of our conference for some«local» food. Alligator Po-Boy sort of for the obligatory NOLA novelty, sort of because curiosity, sort of because fuck it. The meat had a spam-ish quality and was pattied with some red peppers and spices. Excellent in that sandwich and at $ 8, a big fuckin steal compared to LA prices. Easily $ 15-$ 20 here at a place that would sell Alligator. Co-Worker tried the sampler which was Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Red Beans/Rice. Gumbo was excellent. Jambalaya was okay. Sort of lazy… And the RB/R was absolutely flavorless and bland. Salt and hot sauce is required to provide ANY flavor profile to it. Top with some Abita’s(Purple Haze and the Strawberry seasonal) and it was a great cheap meal worth it. Definitely local, definitely don’t care what you think. The irony of this review hits me just now.

WILLSTILLREEKAFTERAPRIL22ND This place reminds me of that bar in the Irish Channel where back-in-the-day the cops found a severed head in a crock pot. The very same bar that I had eaten Irish stew at a year earlier, choking down unfiltered cigarette flavored broth under a sickly yellow bulb. Pass all the ordinances you want, some places will never be smoke free. BUTTHEJAMBALAYAISEXCEPTIONALLYGOOD It’s made with dirty rice and not tomato based, reminiscent of that found in the Texas Cajun communities around Port Neches/Groves. In fact if I Iived in the WHD I’d probably order it take-out weekly(1lb $ 8). But avoid the rest, the red beans are mushy and the gumbo’s amber roux is way too light. Yeah, so it’s a dive bar. For this area it’s old… it reminds me of the places I used to hang out in when I lived here… but back then, this place didn’t exist yet. I’m giving the bar a nostalgia star. Atmosphere is kind of fun, my wife was thinking two star max. but I liked the atmosphere. I don’t smoke anymore, but everyone else did in the bar. kind of a culture shock that you can still do that in some places. I didn’t mind. People brought their dogs in too. If their dogs didn’t get along with the other dogs, they went and sat outside. I liked that too. We ate at the bar, you go in the back and order at the kitchen and they bring your food out. this set me up with some high expectations. Expectations that weren’t met. Of all the food we ate that week in New Orleans, only Mulate’s was more disappointing. We both got the Sampler, which included gumbo(thin and dull) Jambalaya(pretty good!) & red beans and rice(ok) The people were nice, the food wasn’t very hot and just wasn’t as interesting as the environs. We probably wouldn’t go back.

The Corporation Bar and grill is another one of them places that I have passed a billion times, sometimes even delivered ice at a few times and never actually«looked» around or took a break and had a drink here. Nice chill place. Has the mix of regulars(can tell because they stare) and the crowd from nearby hotels. Its a friendly bar. I didn’t get any food here but I certainly smelled it and it was rolling. Though I had just left Cochon so there was barely any room for beer much less more protein. Had some dogs in there. Bottled beers are kept in an ice chest. The bartender that night was killing the drinks. Kinda a one for you one for me thing. used to have a cool poster way against the back wall with a huge bush that I loved to stare at… aint there no more If you are going to a show at the Sugar Mill or just in this, easy to do since it doesn’t really stand out, but its certainly worth a visit.
