Excellent service and creative brunch-style entrees. In a neat part of town. A little pricy but you get your money’s worth, portion-wise, so you’ll prob have some leftovers for a snack.

After reading some good reviews, my gf and I decided to try this place out. The place was busy, which was typical for a Sunday morning during brunch time. The wait wasn’t too long but the seating was a hassle since you have to order first before you’re allowed to sit anywhere and the location is very small. I ordered the grits with ham, eggs and avocado and my gf ordered the California Burrito(eggs, pico, beans, and avocado) which came with a side of fruit. The wait wasn’t too long but immediately after receiving the food, we knew some things were amiss. First, my grits were missing the avocado and the woman who brought my food went back and grabbed some for me. But, as with most places without a «waiter», if other things are wrong, no one is gonna come back to help you. My girlfriends burrito had no beans or avocado(which means it was just eggs, pico and a small amount of cheese) and the side of fruit was quite literally 4 tiny pieces of fruit. With the place very busy, it would have taken just as long to get a new one made. The food was ok, nothing special and quite forgettable. Very disappointing and with the small size of the venue, I don’t think we’ll be returning. Be warned of how busy it will be and the small portion sizes.

I have a limited knowledge of the menu here, because I always get the grits. I’m from central Alabama, so I have fairly high standards for just about any Southern food, and these grits just blow me away. Their other food looks and smells amazing, but I’ll probably never eat it.

I wish I could give this place more stars. The first time we came here, it was on a slower Thursday morning. My girlfriend and I both ordered omelets and, upon meeting the owner, when he found out I didn’t order the grits(I never even tried them before!), insisted I have some and gave me a small plate. AMAZING. Life changing! Writing this now a few days later while waiting on food to go here. The omelets were incredible and filling, the grits, obviously, to die for, and the coffee(we’ve had the Southern Pecan and immediately bought a pound of t from them) is delicious. If you’re visiting New Orleans, you must stop here. I’m already excited about my next trip when I get to enjoy breakfast here again! Thank you Guthrie!

Best omelette and grits both my girlfriend and I have ever had. We stumbled in on this place by accident while touring around new Orleans and decided it took the crown for best breakfast we had while on vacation! Get the baja omelette with a side of grits… Seriously…

I’ve only been here once, but it won’t be my last. I would come back here simply to eat the grits. Wow. Everything we ate was delicious. The grits were hands down the best grits I’ve ever eaten. We got them with sausage, roasted red peppers, avacado, and cheese. We ordered 2 other dishes but couldn’t stop eating the grits long enough to dig into the rest. The waffle was amazing and the breakfast burrito was awesome too. But those grits though…

Great Sunday morning brunch. Had the BEST sandwich(it’s called that) and some fruit, which was high quality and delicious. The sandwich wasn’t too think, which was perfect. Another member of my party had a bagel, which isn’t your traditional bagel, just so you’re aware. The only problem is the wait– there’s not much table room, so you have to think on your feet when a table is open.

The croissant breakfast sandwich was very good. We went at 9AM on a Friday, this appears to be a good time to go as their were many open tables and the food arrived quickly and efficiently. The people working here were very nice. The grits were very tasty. I would go back next time im in town.

We’ve come here on weekdays and weekends. Although the food is always pretty good, the experience is MUCH worse on the weekends. It’s just more stressful than it has to be. First you have to wait in a long line to order, then you have to wait to swoop on a table, then wait 15 minutes for them to clear the table. Finally, the food arrives and new customers begin lurking around your table to swoop. Good food, but I wouldn’t recommend it on a weekend morning.

Healthy, fresh, and delicious! Just left Refuel totally satisfied. We were there for brunch. I got the Big Breakfast. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The black beans were spiced well. I love the Pecan coffee, a flavorful way to perk up! My girlfriend had the breakfast burrito. I had a bite and it was really hearty. The space is a little cramped, but I don’t think that’s worth docking a star. However if you are eating with a large group Refuel might not be the best spot.

A friend of mine recommended Refuel to me just the other day. Went to meet up with some friends and was totally impressed. The restaurant was clean, food was hot, and the service great. I had the veggie burrito with the fruit. The pico de gallo in the burrito was definitely on point. Definitely be coming back for more.

This place runs like clockwork. You order at the counter, pay, they give u a number stand to set on the table you select and BAM out comes your food delivered right to you. Well staffed and friendly in a very nice atmosphere. The food is all well prepared and had a large selection of creatively prepared dishes. I ordered the Migas and it was really good. I am not usually a waffle fan but I saw some go by that changed my opinion and will defiantly have to try them next visit. If you haven’t checked it out yet you should. Mmm Mmm good!

I came in here today after a work out and it was great! Nice location with a parking spot in the back. You know how bad uptown parking can be. The atmosphere was nice and friendly. I got the Mediterranean scramble with grits(AMAZING) and toast on the side. I really enjoyed it! My brother got the spicy chicken sandwich and said it was amazing and we should come here everytime we work out in the neighborhood. SO it was definitely a great enjoyable meal!

We walked in and it is our first time coming here. We order and pay then notice that some people have numbers for their order and we do not. We also haven’t been given our drinks and we wonder if we were supposed to wait for them. No, they just forgot and that’s a okay because they were super nice about it. My boyfriend scarfed down his waffle in a matter of maybe 10 minutes… This is normal for him lol. I’m the slow eater. He said it was really good and the bananas were super fresh. My omelet was huge and so good. The sauce on top really added a special kick to it. I was only able to eat half it was so big. But I finished my tasty sourdough toast and my creamy grits. I really hate that we are headed to a movie and I can not take the half an omelet to go :( Polite staff thanked us for coming as we left. Good food and the exceptional staff goes a long way. We enjoyed our brunch. OHYEAH! And free wi-fi. Always a plus.

Refuel is great because you they have something for everyone. Whether you want a heavy breakfast full of cheese and meat or a lighter, healthier meal, their menu is sure to cover you. I recommend the citrus roasted pork and grits or the brioche french toast!

I love refuel. Seriously, I think everything on the menu is fresh delicious. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I do wish it were full service though. Finding a table can be a pain, I’ve even seen some altercations over a table. the BEST is THEBEST. I want one right meow.

I try my best to eat breakfast every morning, I don’t alway succeed, but I try. I had an early start this morning and after my first meeting of the day, I was starved. Wanting to try something new, I referenced to my bookmarks and Refuel was closest in the area, nestled in the bubbly breadth of the river bend. The space feels really open and clean(which it is) and the staff is super friendly. I had the Baja omelet with grits, fresh fruit, and a cup of joe. I must say, those grits were the truth of it all. I’m not typically a fan of the grit, there’s always that weird jello-like layer on the top of most people’s and very bland. However these, i learned, were a recipe from the owner’s own grandmother who use to hand grind her own grits, and you can certainly taste the love in it all. Eggs served up sheltering bacon, avocado, shredded cheddar, and ranchero sauce drizzled atop, it was quite the delight and a «good call» on my part. As i said, the owner was a very nice guy. He went around and greeted each table, asking how was the food and if everything was fine(i really like when owners do that), made me feel very welcomed. Glad i went with my gut in wanting to try something new. A place that has such good reviews rarely tend to let one down, and this place certainly holds up to it’s reviews. I’ll most certainly find my way back to this place when i want a solid breakfast in the river bend area, pretty freshly y’all.
