The thinnest of thin crusts. You guys… I love Pirate Pizza. Everytime I go out on Frenchman I hope to see a pirate ship serving pizza. Ask my friends… I am a Pirate pizza evangelist. Pirate pizza is on my personal«things you have to eat while in New Orleans» list.(I should make that a an actual list. Memo to self.) I love a good thin crust and theirs is like razor thin. Soooo thin you guys. SOOOOOTHIN. and real cheese and good pepperoni and there’s veggie pizza and sometimes creative pizzas like bbq pork(on a pizza, who’da thunk?) or that one thing they do with like apricots?(or something?) It was odd… but delicious… stone fruits on a pizza. I don’t know what else to tell you. I’ve driven to Frenchmen specifically for Pirate Pizza. And then got it and left. It’s that serious.

The Pirate cart was on Frenchmen St. so it immediately caught my attention because it was all lit up and it looked really cool. As soon as we walked up we were nicely greeted by one of the guys, «Ahoy there!» The entire time we were there and as others walked up and ordered he never stopped talking like a pirate. I thought it was really cool, he never got out of character. I wonder if he does that at the restaurant? I got a slice of the Meat Special pizza and it was really good. It was refreshing to be able to buy a pizza by the slice that’s «restaurant quality.» When I took a bite I could immediately tell that the quality of the ingredients were better than the ingredients from the pizza slices that you get at the daiquiri shops around here. It was a thin crust pizza and it was delicious. I do wish the slices were bigger for the price but I would definitely go back and get more pizza from there or I might just go back so I can listen to the guy talk like a pirate the whole time. Since it was thin crust 1 piece didn’t fill me up, I could’ve eaten 2 pieces. Next time I’ll order 2 pieces for $ 8 though instead of 1 for $ 4.50. Just cheese are 1 for $ 3.50 or 2 for $ 6 and Pepperoni are 1 for $ 4 or 2 for $ 7.

Not sure if this is for the pirate pizza bike shop that I ate at on Frechmen Street the other day, or their new storefront that they’re trying to open up. There was another Pirate Pizza Unilocal page, but it wouldn’t let me review it and I had to review this instead. Anyways, this was a perfect last stop in my night on Bourbon Street. Since my hotel was on Frechmen Street, I just happened to stumble upon this pizza shop which smelled amazing. I ordered a slice of pepperoni to share with my girlfriend and after one bite, she refused to let me eat any so I had to buy another slice for myself. But I was glad I did! The crust was super thin and tasted amazing. They actually outfitted a pizza shop on a bike complete with a grill and pirate ship decorations. It was actually pretty amazing to see it and every night it would be in a different location on Frechmen Street.
