Pretty average food tbh. This was an impulse dinner as it was a hot hot hot day and we were tired of walking + didn’t want to wait at neighboring spots. Nothing was horrible but there is absolutely no reason to go back. The food was pretty meh in flavor. The service was good so they get bumped to 3 stars. If you are not despo, go somewhere else. Lots of great dining around them. Again, nothing wrong with this place but nothing you would rave about.

I came in to grab a quick bite and it was okay. Not a great ambience but a convenient location. The service was really horrible which also affected my rating. Our server would leave for extended periods of time(15 – 20 minutes) and we would have to ask someone to find her to even get utensils or order more drinks. I had the crawfish étouffée which was decent.

While on a trip to Nola, my wife and I were curious to try some of the local cuisine. Our first culinary stop in the city was here at Pere Antoines and we loved it. We were taken care of my Mykel who is a wonderful server and made some great recomendations. We had a crayfish appetizer which was delicious! I had a shrimp poboy and the wife had jambalaya. The potions are huge and moderately priced and we really enjoyed the mild spicy kick everything has. We also tried our first Hurricane here which was very refreshing for a hot day. For dessert you have to try the beignet fries, OMG so good! I will be coming back here on our next trip to Nola!

We popped in for lunch after a tour ended nearby, and had no expectations other than«can we get some New Orleans style food here?» since it was our first day. We’d heard of Antoine’s Restaurant and must have gotten it confused. Anyway, it was a happy accident because we had a very decent meal here. First off, the service is great. The décor is a little old and in need of freshening up, but the warm welcome from our host and quick first visit by our server was enough to lure us in and set off our experience on a good foot. I ordered the Gumbo Duo and the Crawfish and Crabcakes, and my fiancé ordered the Étouffée half and half with Shrimp Creole. We also got beers and a bloody mary and a daqueri to go. My meal was fine – I appreciated the opportunity to try two different gumbos instead of having to pick. I much preferred the seafood gumbo, but that was just personal preference. Both were very tasty. The Crawfish and Crab cakes were the only true disappointment, because they were mostly bread and were literally DROWNING in remoulade. However, my fiancé’s Etouffe plate was the best I’d ever had. He had to fight me off with his fork because I kept stealing it from him. Buttery perfection. No harsh seafood taste, just a perfectly balanced, flavorful dish. The sauce was amazing and I sopped it it up with my baguette. The drinks were expensive – as they always are in the quarter – and nothing special, but that Etouffe was just so good. I know what I’ll be getting next time I’m in town! Rounding up what probably was a 3.5-star experience to 4 stars for the service and that etouffe!

Simply the best red beans and rice in New Orleans. A must visit for me on every trip here.

Great seafood! Great gumbo! Great drinks! Wonderful banana foster’s beignets! Great bread pudding. Nice street side seating for people watching. Staff are sassy and will give their opinion without hesitation.

Terrible. Do not waste your time. Stumbled in here because we were hungry and needed something to eat quick. The reception right from the start was unpleasant. That should have told me right there to leave. Anyway we sat down to poor, unfriendly service. Ordered a shrimp creole and étouffée sampler. Just terrible. Not even worth $ 17. Fellow Unilocalers, stay away from this place. Quite frankly I don’t know how they stays in business.

Staff: Was friendly, but Jamie was the best. She was very attentive and helpful. Answered all of our questions honestly and openly. Ask to be seated in her section. Food: Would’ve been a 5 star review, but the food needed some help. The stuffed mushroom with crab needed some crab. The half-n-half shrimp Creole and crawfish ettouffee was half good. Plenty o’fish, slim on crawfish. The banana fosters beignet was the bee’s knees, elbows, and toes. Take aways: Jamie was legit. Bananas fosters beignet is a must.

I had a great experience when visiting. We had a fairly large party and they seated us almost immediately. This was surprising since it was so busy. The food was delicious. We had an order of the beignets fries. The kids made short work of them. I had the red bean omelette with grits on the side. Let me say that I am not a big red bean or grits person. I figured I’m in New Orleans so eat like the Romans(or something like that). Their grits were creamy possibly cooked with butter or maybe added at the end. I gave them a shake or two of hot sauce and would take a half for of the red bean and cheddar omelette and half grits. Wow. I will definitely be coming back. My family definitely had a good experience

I was very sceptical of this place at first based on the other reviews, but my wife and I were starving so we decided to give it a try. I had the chicken gumbo, she had the vegetarian creole and some white rice for the baby. All in all, the food was very tasty and the service was quite good. Goes to show that sometime we just need to turn off our phones and just give a restaurant a chance. I’m very bad at checking reviews meticulously before entering a spot, but this place proved me wrong.

The pecan pie was great & Tammy is AMAZING!(Really love the sassy she brings to the table)…bread pudding is only average, it had more fruit than bread. Highly recommend the Pecan pie.

Always a favorite! I should try some other places, but when you know what you are getting and it tastes so good, it is always my first choice.

Perfect timing today as we arrived before the lunch rush. We were seated at a table next to the open windows. The weather was perfect and the Bloody Mary was THEBEST. The blacked catfish poboy was very tasty as was the chicken gumbo. Loved the atmosphere! Service was great!

This place is good, and if you’re hungry and walking around the French quarter looking for a cheap place to eat, it’s a good option. The chicken and andouille gumbo and jambalaya are pretty good and the huge portion is only $ 11. I saw a lot of people ordering their breakfast sandwiches and bloody Mary’s which looked good too.

Great food. My wife & I came here twice during our weak long vacation. Once for dinner, our waitress Denise was fantastic. Everything she recommended was great. My wife had the lamb, & I the ribs, again everything was prepared wonderfully. We also came once for the all day breakfast, again spot on! I would highly recommend the Pere Antoine. :)

The major difference I noticed during my trip to NOLA was that the service industry folks are so amazingly sweet and hospitable. Pere Antoine has the sweetest bartenders and GIGI! The sweet lady bartender(sorry, no name) was just such a warm, sweet soul. She loaded our bloody mary’s up with all the pickled fixins while we waited 30 minutes for our table. Gigi really took great care of us. They sat us in front of the door, so we got a cold draft the entire meal, but the food and service made up for it. We went from 0 to 100 real quick and started with the bananas foster beignet fries(don’t judge me, haha). These were decadent strips of fried dough with a fluff of powdered sugar and fresh cut bananas. The rest of the food was pretty on point. We got the seafood gumbo, red beans and rice, blackened catfish, and shrimp po boy. No complaints here! Waters were filled up quickly, and we were checked on frequently despite how busy they were. Stop by here if you’re ever wandering the streets of the French Quarter! –xoxo

I have been here 2 times over the past view.visits. This has to be one of the top 5 worst restaurants in the quarter. Here is why i think this: Service was awful. went in for lunch and it was rather dead. our server haf maybe 3 tables… took her 10 minutes to bring our cocktails.. instead of apologizing she blaned it o. The bartender stating he was in the restroom. this is something I really didnt want to know. She never checked how our food was and had to wave her down for a refill I ordered the combo of shrimp creole and crawfish eautoffe. Which made me have the bubble guts for 2 days. It was $ 19.00 and the quality of this meal was.well. i would compare it to a frozen dinner. i ordered the crab and crawfish cakes. it came out steaming and rubbery as if it was microwaved which i am 99% positive it was. I ordered the hurricane made with southern comfort(one of their signature drinks on menu) the alcohol content was minimal and definately not worth 11 $. There are way too many good restaraunts in the qtr. dont waste your time nor $ here.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch because it was time to eat and it was right in front of me. I am judging this review on my one time visit. Keep that in mind. *attractive dining rooms *friendly staff *typical menu — nothing stood out. I wanted a fried shrimp & fish combo, asked if they had it off the menu, the answer was no: \ *I let my waiter surprise me on my dish. I gave him two choices. *paneed chicken was dry and bland, as well as the pasta Alfredo — bland, not dry, obviously. I left unimpressed but not hungry anymore and I could keep walking to my destination before having to catch a cab to the airport. I will only go back if the person I am with stomps their feet and holds their breath. Then, I’ll likely just order a drink.

This was by far the worst meal I had in New Orleans. We were a bit tired from walking around, and decided to take a chance eating here, rather than continue our search. The menu looked pretty decent, even though the Unilocal reviews cast a bit of doubt in my mind. I had the blackened chicken, which was okay at best. The sides accompanying said chicken were quite uninspiring, frozen vegetables and the like. The service wasn’t very good or attentive. Keep walking and take your business elsewhere.

Ok so I’ve never eaten here so the majority of people can ignore this review from this point forward. BUT if you want a drink with an incredibly friendly bartender look for Mandy here. The drinks all have silly names like Nola lady and southern belle and they are all renditions on juice punches. Change the liquor, not the high fructose corn syrup lol. But it’s not the worst thing to sip on wandering the quarter. People come and go, some things stay the same. Like rum punch. Just get one and walk around! Preferably by the river.
