I am of two minds about this store: on the one hand they have some truly lovely things: great selection of soaps and colognes; beautiful tablecloths; Little Prince dishes, etc. On the other hand the woman who works there, Sonya, drives me crazy. She will follow you around the store and if you pause in front of an object she’ll give you a 10 minute spiel about it and she is aggressive about hawking those French tablecloths. When I’ve bought stuff there(and I HAVE because they make wonderful gifts) it’s been when Sonya’s not around.

For anyone who likes The Little Prince, they have a small selection of mugs/plates/etc with The Little Prince on it. They also have beautiful tablecloths and runners. The person working there was friendly and helpful, even provided extra packing material for a break-free travel.

I’m a business owner and was treated very poorly by the staff. I can’t say anything about the owner, but was extremely disappointed in the rude staff.

I am a local and love this little store. They have great soaps. Once you start using them you don’t want to use any other kind of soap. They also are very friendly and have great customer service.

I visited New Orleans a few months ago on business and wandered into this charming shop while out for a walk in the French Quarter. The owner was welcoming and helpful. I regretted being so rusty in my French conversation skills. I purchased a few soaps and a beautiful tablecloth, which was shipped to my home to avoid having to fit it into my carry-on luggage. Sometimes you discover a little gem of a store that feels comfortable, is interesting to explore, and is small enough to not be overwhelmed by the merchandise. This is just such a store. I will return on my next visit to New Orleans!

A very cute shop full of French imports, and the French woman working there was sweet and very proud of her store. The products were pricy, although cute. If you’re into French culture, stop in. If not, you’re not missing much.

Royal Street is not to be missed. Gem de France is an authentic and fun boutique on Royal Street, making it a worthy stop on your walk around the French Quarter. The shopkeeper has a lovely French accent and is very welcoming. They sell unique home décor and gifts(soaps, lotions, fragrances) that are reasonably priced and smile-inducing.
