we dropped by for a crêpe and waited forever to be served. to crepes irons but apparently the person making the crepes can only handle making one at a time. so if you are a party of four like we were you get one crêpe served at a time. not so god if your the last person to get their crêpe as almost everyone else is done. very poor service and the food is not much better. a little dirty inside is an understatement. the place needs to be cleaned starting with the kitchen. kind of disgusting. very eclectic crowd working the counter. i wont ever go back, like ever.

Avoid it. Gross. Found a massive cockroach in the bottom of my 16 oz coffee. …they weren’t particularly apologetic or concerned. Made me feel like tourist though Im a neighbor and have been coming to this place through its many incarnations– vintage store, coffee shop, and now creperie. Today they were trifling. Won’t be back. Go to mojo or hi volt.

My husband ordered the grilled cheese crêpe with avocado and tomato and loved it. I ordered the classic with cinnamon and loved it, too. I would recommend ordering something in addition to the crêpe if you are getting a crêpe that is not stuffed if you are a big breakfast person or you will still be hungry like I was. Coffee was spot on.

Came here because the donut place down the street had a huge line. You order at the counter, and I ordered 2 Vermont crepes and a coffee. Girl told me it would be about 15 minutes so I grabbed a seat outside. Coffee: coffee was fine. Nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. Food: food took about 20 minutes. The Vermont crepes had blueberries and syrup. First, the food wasn’t warm or hot. I’m not sure if it sat inside for awhile or what. Second, the crepes were crunchy, not soft. They almost had a soggy chip like texture with crunch on the perimeters. I don’t eat a ton of crepes, but I’ve never had crunchy ones before. Third, there was more maple syrup on them than I’ve ever seen. If you get this order, get syrup on the side. They were drenched and the syrup puddled on the plate I actually tried to drain it to make them more palatable. Many of the other 2 – 3 star reviews are accurate. I was ok with the wait for good food, but the meal I had was underwhelming at best. Would not recommend.

Had a fabulous crêpe here called Scarface. Come try one out for yourself. Excellent. I’ll be back for sure. My wife ordered the Nutella crêpe and added bacon. Mucho awesomeness !!

I’m standing outside right now at 7:30, and it is closed. I just watched the last employee lock up and walk off. Here on Unilocal, they list their hours as being open until 8. On the storefront, it says they’re open until 9. Another couple just walked up to go here, and said the place is never open. I guess the moral is don’t come here in the evening and expect it to be open.

Delicious crêpe. We ordered the Lucy. It had strawberries, amaretto custard, and powdered sugar. It was not too sweet, just perfect and light. It was worth the wait. Super cute place!

Delicious crepes! My husband and I came in bright and early(as they were opening their doors). We had some great coffee there and both ordered crepes. Mine was vegetarian and my husband got extra bacon in his. Yummy! Our servers were friendly and made our experience fantastic.

This place is SO cute! The coffee and service are great! Didn’t have a crêpe but will update ^_^ EDIT: I had a Capri, a savory crêpe with basil, mozzarella and tomato, it was delicious!

This place is great for working. The seats are incredibly comfy, and the food, crepes, is fantastic. The coffee while good is not my favorite but overall I would rate this place as one of my favorite in the city for camping and getting some work done. There are plenty of plugs, and no pressure, the staff are really quite nice. One downfall is the toilet. Its basically the size of a broom closet. I would suggest holding it till later if you catch my drift.

The crepes are insanely amazing!!! Big in size and super delicious. Plus their iced coffee is so good. Definitely a great place to lunch and enjoy a low key environment.

My daughter was dying for a crêpe, so we headed out to De Ville. The vibe in the place is definitely more café than restaurant with people working on their laptops on the tables, but I wouldn’t call it unwelcoming like some places like that. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful as we placed our order. Each of us ordered a different crêpe — 3 savories and a sweet. My son got a grilled cheese crêpe with so much gooey cheesiness– he loved it. My husband had a pesto concoction that was also a hit. I had a ham, Brie and apple crêpe that could have been warmer but I still ate every bite. My daughter would not share her Nutella strawberry crêpe … It looked really good though. I recommend this place if you are looking for something a little different.

This review is just for the service, because I didn’t even get to the food part. I walked in with a friend of mine on a nice afternoon. The people sitting out front looked less than friendly but that’s inconsequential. I walked in and there were two people behind the counter. There is definitely a hipster vibe here, which I’m definitely not against but it translated to a laissez faire and rude attitude where we weren’t even acknowledged. Their friends were standing up there with them and they completely ignored us for about 5 minutes. We decided to leave without ordering anything. I’m bitter about this experience because I was there to spend some money and didn’t even make an impression except that I didn’t look like they did. If you want unsolicited judgement, head to this place.

Deville has some of the best breakfasts in town. I had the Farm House crêpe with egg, sausage and cheese and it was unbelievable. It was a very large portion for the money and I could not finish it. You have to try it.

Not authentic crepes. The sweet crepes have a good consistency but lack flavor. They also cool very quickly which is not the case with authentic crepes. Way toooooo much Nutella on my strawberry, banana, Nutella crêpe.

This is just a review of the coffee, since I had just eaten across the street when I stopped in here. This spot used to be the Reservoir Café, and that place was nice enough, but they have certainly done more with it since Deville moved in. I got a large iced coffee that I really enjoyed. The coffee wasn’t anything overly special, but it had a lot of flavor and I liked it. The décor here is really nice– they have nice spots where you can sit and take advantage of the wifi while doing some work and cozy tables are nice if you want to sit and enjoy some crepes. While I didn’t have any crepes I did notice that they have all types varying from sweet to more of a meal. I will definitely have to come back and try them.

I thought this place was really good. I tried the chicory coffee. Pretty interesting but not better to me than their regular. They do have espresso drinks. The crepes are large and pretty good. I recommend the Tuscan. Mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, prosciutto and pesto all wrapped in the crêpe. Filling and delicious.

I was looking forward to crepes and coffee but I was really turned off by the entire experience. I walked in and said hi and the two employees stared at me and did not acknowledge me or the second customer who walked in. I asked if I was supposed to order up front or wait for someone to come to the table and the employee simply said no. Please try to communicate clearer with customers. I went up to order, paid and decided to sit outside. After a longer than expected wait, one employee came out with my plate and placed it on the table. He didn’t bring any utensils so I went inside to get some. He never came back out to check in on anyone. You can at least give customers a heads up and let them know where to get the utensils. The service was very slow and besides three customers(including myself), it was pretty empty in the morning. It was pretty smokey inside and there was a lack of ventilation so it wasn’t pleasant to sit inside. The space is an older building and hasn’t been maintained well. FYI, the bathroom is incredibly small so anyone over 5 feet may have trouble sitting on the toilet. The crepes came in large portions but there was way too much cheese in them. I never complain about too much cheese in anything but this was overwhelming. The two employees were cold and non-communicative towards me and other customers. I was really dissatisfied and will not be returning.

This place is awesome. I’m so hungover and they have bomb ass crepes and coffee to make me feel better. Also, they’ve been playing Television over the speakers for the whole half hour we have been here, and that band is awesome. Badass crêpe place. Highly recommended.

Stopped in cause we wanted something a little different. Our crepes were great. Much better than the farmer’s market in LA, and that’s not Lower Alabama.

Sometimes the concept and expectation exceed the execution, and unfortunately, this was one of those times. I had a killer of a sweet tooth, and my sweetie had a taste for coffee(a coffee tooth??), so a coffee and creperie joint sounded like a perfect match. This was a quaint spot, with the eclectic mix of décor and staff of seemingly quirky people you would expect in New Orleans. The menu features an assortment of sweet and savory crepes, so no matter your mood, you should be able to find something to your liking. When torn between the caramel apple and the Lucy(strawberries, powdered sugar, and amaretto cream) crepes, our incredibly friendly clerk immediately told me to go with the Lucy. She said it was a «favorite.» And so I did. The better half was able to order an off-menu white chocolate mocha coffee, which we especially appreciated! Moments later, my crêpe arrived. The presentation was okay, but I’m more into taste than flair usually. One bite in, I tasted onion. I thought, «It was just my imagination, right?» I took another bite, this one full of cream, strawberries, sugar, crêpe. More onion. The only explanation that came to mind was no one cleaned the cooktop between the previous savory order and mine. Call me crazy, but I ate on. The onion flavor was less intense, but still present. Aside from the onion, the crêpe itself was a little chewier than I like. Also, the amaretto cream didn’t taste of amaretto at all. For me, this isn’t so bad because I am not a big amaretto fan. For someone, however, looking for that amaretto flavor to come through, you will be disappointed. On a brighter note, my husband adored his flavored coffee as it was sweet, warm and delicious. As for me, my tastebuds and I left disappointed. and little confused, in search of another food adventure.

I got the banana Nutella crêpe. It was ok until I found a long strand of hair in my food. I went up to the register and told them. The woman making the crêpe(with the same hair color as the one in my food) said«oh shoot… let me make you another one» unapologetically. RUDE! Never coming back here again!

I didn’t know I liked crepes so much! This little place is wonderful & a must eat if you are nearby. It takes a little while for them to prepare the crepes, so you may want to plan for a short wait.

After acting like creeps and fangirls hanging out in front of celebrity homes in the Garden District, it was time for a snack. I saw that Deville wasn’t too far away and crepes were sounding very enticing. I hadn’t been on Magazine street before so it was cool to see that area of the Garden District. I ordered the Strawberries and Chocolate Crêpe while my sister got the plain crêpe with cinnamon and sugar. We both got iced lattes with them. While not the most authentic crepes I’ve ever had, they were good. They were ready in about 7 minutes. The strawberries were fresh and the crepes were the perfect size to fill you up, but not heavily so. The baristas were nice, though not as friendly as other places I’ve been to in NOLA. Overall, I’d go back for a crêpe and coffee next time I’m in the area.

The crepes were overpriced and took too long to make. They also were not the most authentic crepes I’ve had. I feel like the girl making them must have been very new at it because they were thick and mushy. The regular coffee tasted like a cigarette. Overall not a great experience & won’t be going back.

De Ville crepes and coffee A great little café that my fiancée spotted. Very nice atmosphere and finally a great selection of green teas to choose from. Bathroom was quite an experience. LOL.

Deville offers beautifully crafted crepes. You’d be disappointed if you think for a minute that you won’t have to wait. These crepes take time and care and they are very much worth the 5 to 10 minute wait depending on how busy. The options are diverse and all equally delicious.

This gal must have studied in France, fallen in love with delicious crepes, and then brought them home to New Orleans. Delicious. The Monte Cristo was basically thinly sliced ham, a fried egg, quality cheese, and a little syrup on top of the wrapped bundle of crêpe joy. 4 out of 5 because it cost me $ 10 for that and coffee, but it was honestly a good little breakfast.

A slightly upscale coffee house nestled in the Lower Garden District. Food: I didn’t eat, but crêpes are the house specialty. I had an iced mocha to go. Cost was on par with other boutique cafés($ 4.50). It was an average drink of that nature.(3 stars) Service: There were 2 employees behind the counter, where orders are taken. I noted a crêpe being brought by an employee to another customer seated, though. I recognized one employee working the crêpe flat iron grill from the old Rue de la Course on Magazine, and he was congenial with me. My drink came out promptly.(3 stars) Facilities: Exactly what one would expect of an establishment of this nature. It is a fairly small floorplan layout, with some benches or tables and chairs available. Probably good for brunch or afternoon reading or studying. The establishment was clean.(3 stars) Overall: 3 stars. An average café for this area. I would likely go there again if I were in the neighborhood, but likely not go out of my way to go there for coffee or crêpes. If you live or work in the LGD, I suggest trying it out.

This place is amazing! Crepes are goooood, so far my favorite is the Florentine. Sizes are huge, so you can buy one and share with one more person. Coffee is also of decent quality and the ambiance is really good, chairs and tables are comfortable and outlets are plentiful. So far it has been my favorite place to work. The only thing thou is that the bathroom is tiiiiny! :(

This is a perfect coffee spot all around. Haven’t tried the crepes yet, but I’ve heard great things. The staff is very friendly and personal. The coffee is delicious and there are many options offered from your typical drip and iced to lattes and even frozen options. The space is nice if you’re looking to grab a coffee and some food and stay awhile. For me, coffee is a necessity, but I can be quite picky. There are many fantastic spots in the vicinity of this LGD gem, but I do have to admit that I think I’ve discovered my new favorite place. It’s tough to really put a finger on it, but the coffee at De Ville is just something to desire. I guess you’ll just have to pay them a visit and understand why for yourself. My recommendation from the brew: large iced coffee with soy and chocolate

NEWLYOPENEDWITHLOTSOFPOTENTIAL — same group that opened DeVille in the Quarter last year — most savories are about $ 9, sweet are $ 6(some splitable) — Orleans Coffee Exchange sources the brews — counter service with seating inside for 20, outside 6 — generous hours 8AM to 9PM daily. BUTTHEREAREKINKS… — my sweet crêpe was tepid, the nutella sloppily dolloped — there’s no water or take-out station so you have to re-queue — the ambience is off-putting, like stalls in a horse barn; ANDTHEVIBE: DETACHED? SMUG? OHIO-AN? — when I asked the transplant barista where the coffee was sourced I was met with a snarl. «Why do you want to know?» — not one of the four behind the counter told me when my go-box was ready nor did they thank me: «yeah that’s yours». …it’s the genteel niceties that separate us from the carpetbaggers, no?
