Bella Umbrella is a charming and unique addition to Magazine St. Visit first for the visual delight: bright colors and shapes floating overhead draw you in. Then dig in to their amazing variety of umbrellas: wind-resistant, or UV-protection, or Italian fashion, or doggie prints, or Victorian lace, or children’s size, etc. If it comes in an umbrella, they can get it for you.

Such a beautiful selection. Found a gift here for my mothers birthday, since we were traveling they shipped it for us to get it to us exactly when we needed it. My mom got it last night and was soooo happy! They are real gems here. Thanks for working with us and our schedule!

Adorable little shop on Magazine street chock full of umbrellas in every size and style. Big umbrellas, small umbrellas inexpensive ones and very expensive ones! A specialty shop with another location in Seattle they focus on high end construction and style. If you could envision an umbrella wonderland — this is it. The owners are lovely and eager to help. In addition to selling umbrellas they also rent vintage and other umbrellas for special occasions, etc. I chose a Pagoda Umbrella with a pinwheel design and a lovely wooden handle. Many gift ideas and a fun little space.

I give this ZERO stars. The owner clearly does not come from New Orleans nor has she made any effort to understand it or do any market research. A quirk that is easy to spot when it rains, New Orleanians do not use umbrellas.

Oh my gosh! This is SUCH a cute shop! I never even knew this place existed, until I happened to be driving down Magazine St. one day and it caught my eye. This place is amazing and carries every type of umbrella you could ever imagine. I love that they have unique, pretty umbrellas, and in a rainy city like New Orleans, it almost makes you wonder why there aren’t more umbrella shops in town. I didn’t buy anything this time, but I have my eye on a gorgeous red lace parasol. They have umbrellas for second lines for weddings as well, so if you are looking for that type of thing, be sure to check this place out. They even have umbrellas that are perfect for kids! I will say that the umbrellas are not on the cheap side at all, but for as unique as they are, I think that they are absolutely worth the money.

My wife LOVES this store, she said it reminds her of when she lived in Paris. On an initial visit she walked out with a bag but no umbrella, however we’ve been back for her mom and she’s already shown me a few umbrellas that she would like(subtle hint). It’s not cheap, but quality rarely is. And they RENT umbrellas for weddings and other occasions too, who knew?

Super fun umbrellas for all kinds of events. Elegant to whimsical & sun-shading to rainproof w/lots of sizes, styles & price points… just don’t expect Decatur St pricing. These are serious umbrellas & you’re going to pay for quality I chose the Ferrari of umbrellas… a handmade Italian number decorated w/poppies… in homage to my big man, Mr Poppy. Lifetime guarantee — can’t get better than that. Oh wait, it DOES get better! We used our umbrella for Jazz Fest then dropped it back off at the shop before we left & they shipped it to San Francisco for FREE! It was too big to fit in my suitcase & I already had my 2 carryons so crisis was avoided before it was even a possibility Bella also makes their own pagoda-style umbrellas & we were told they are the only ones who use 16 panels for the ultimate in stability With so many patterns & shapes, it was extremely difficult to choose just one Maybe a Mardi Gras-themed pagoda umbrella for next year? I have a super design in mind… do you take custom orders?

I’m extremely excited about this brand new shop! Went in to visit today, and learned that the shop just opened yesterday. The owner is originally from Seattle, and their flagship location is in the Pike Place Market. They are looking to put up stores in cities that receive a lot of rain. Cool. Let me tell you, these are not your average umbrellas. From parasols to Italian designer, these umbrellas are the kind that you will make sure you have in your possession before you leave. Gorgeous, flowered umbrellas, unusual handles, gentleman’s umbrellas, and sort of quirky, European umbrellas that slant to one side. My friend and I were fighting over a beautiful flower one with an unusual rectangular handle. I intend to win that fight. They do have more standard umbrellas as well, but if you need the drama or something that fits your personality, you can find that here too. I don’t know why it never occurred to me that Italian-designer umbrellas exist, but I was amazed at the ones I saw. Some even complete with finger holes for better grasp. Crazy, beautiful — and conversation starters. They can also special order if you know you need something specific. Like an animal head at the end of the umbrella to grasp onto(think old school cane), or a specific color. I can’t wait to see how the store looks once they get more settled. Definitely check them out and give then a warm New Orleans welcome!
