So sad to see they didn’t make it. We had a nice time here and the food was good. The owner/chef came over and talked to us and he was from CA! It’s really too bad because the food was good — perhaps the idea just doesn’t work in New Orleans. Tapas, small plates that is on the pricey side. Glad we at least had a chance to try it.

This place definitely has potential. BYOB for right now so grab a beer or wine down the street first. The food was good(we had three different small plates) but they have a couple larger items on the menu as well if you are more hungry. I like the fact that they are open later than most places in the area and they serve something other than bar food. This stretch of Frenchman obviously needed another venue(if you have ever tried to grab something to eat down here at night you know what I’m talking about). I was glad to see that other place go so I really hope these guys make it.

Ate here on Saturday night. Had an excellent experience. Service was top notch, as well as the ambiance & food. There were four of us and we ordered several plates to share. The lamb chop lollipops had to be my favorite, followed by the mushroom on bruschetta… YUM! Surprisingly the place was empty on the inside, but all tables outside were taken. Will definitely go back again.

Was down there for the French Quarter Fest and was blown away by the food — Little plates, so you need a few for a full meal — but so fabulous

This cavernous, almost empty place on Chartres occupies Lazizza’s old spot(the receipt, in fact, bore Lazizza’s name). The only difficulty we experienced was the inability of the staff to have anything we wanted to order. First there was no foccaccia; then there was no Perrier… it continued until we found something that the kitchen had ready to go. The food was good, flavorful, and fresh; the salad was quite nice, full of real greens instead of iceberg and carrot shavings. The fries with truffle oil were exceptional. On the other hand, the burger was overcooked and served, strangely, on a large, rather sweet bun. The ceviche lacked citrus but was otherwise ok. The service was very good. The waiter was appropriately apologetic about the food issues and was attentive. Maybe the place will improve as they work out the kinks. I hope so, because the food shows promise and a creative spark that needs better execution.
