Terrible! Host said there was a half hour wait when we got there even though there were many tables available(we thought it was a ploy to spend more money on drinks)! Once seated, service was slow and food was the worst I’ve had in New Orleans. Definitely wouldn’t recommend!

I love the eclectic vibe. The food was very good, my friend got a huge burger and I enjoyed seafood. The long island ice tea was a little different but very good.

Food was okay the steak burger were a little bland and the patty needed some salt. We also had fried calamari which were chewy and under seasoned. The drinks were overpriced too. I’m a local and it’s my first time going to this place and I probably won’t be back but we still had a good time with my hubby and my parents in law.

Snug Harbor sure does know how to ruin a good time! This seemingly«classy» location that prides itself on not being a part of the chaos on Burbon Street really doesn’t set the bar that high.. . dirty and dingy(and that’s just the bar staff). Service was terrible: rude, obnoxious, and forgetful. We didn’t even bother with food based upon the competencies of the bar staff. I’m glad we didn’t. Snug Harbor smelled like a combination of trash and mildew.. .which shouldn’t surprise me, after the experience we had — I’m sure other dissatisfied people tip garbage cans over at the entrance and leave their dirty wet laundry at the bar. I would have done the same, but I needed my clothes to be let into the next bar.. . I’m hoping the place crumbles. On the bright side.. .this location is central to MANYOTHER well appointed bars, bistros, and music venues on Frenchmen Street where you can have a great time.. .and we certainly did. Just not at Snug Harbor.

We headed here after getting off of Bourbon St after an experience I soon won’t forget at a popular restaurant. We were hungry after leaving there and flagged a cab and told him to please drop us anywhere on Frenchmen St. He dropped us off in the middle of the block and told us to either go left or right. We chose left and saw Snug Harbor. We had read about the place previously and went in without a glance at the menu. After not having any beef for the past few days, I opted for a burger with cheddar and mushrooms. It was cooked as ordered and came with a great baked potato. My husband had a bowl of the gumbo– keeping with his goal of trying as much gumbo as possible while we are in NOLA. Service was friendly and fast. We didn’t stay for the live music performance, but we saw a lot of people coming in for it and heard or host on the phone before we at us explaining how busy it gets. Nice setting and we assumed a great place for live music too.

burger and potato rival nearby port of call, usually without the prohibitive wait. they pipe the music from the performance in to the restaurant, which is a nice touch. I would def go again for the burger.

I come here fairly often for the music. The food is worth a try though! I am fairly narrow minded later in the evening so I always get a burger. Always good. The staff is always on point. Never had a problem with my orders. Great bands are generally playing which makes a perfect situation even better. Give snug a shot.

Fish sandwich and baked potato was way overpriced for what you get. I’ve had much better tasting and prepared food from a food truck — no kidding. Fish had strong taste and the baked potato wasn’t even hot. A well done burger ordered was medium at best. Place smelled like mildew. Service was slow. Host was at least cheerful. Saw Charmaine Neville’s show afterwards. She was fun, but in the first hour she invited HS kids from California to join her on stage for a song. Cute, but definitely not pros — yet. Then an amateur friend, then another amateur, then her auntie, then… well we left. It was amateur night at Snug Harbor, not the show we thought we were paying for. Definitely wouldn’t recommend Snug Harbor to anyone.

Very pricy for the food they are serving … The music is good but if you’re seating downstairs you don’t see the band. Food was very mediocre …

Great music with okay food. My son & I ordered chicken breasts with Creole sauce and a baked potato. Chicken was dry, but sauce was good. We also ordered bread pudding but they couldn’t warm it because their microwave broke. Waitress was very nice; service was fine. Dinner is served in a separate area from music. Locals recommended this spot to listen to music. We called ahead to ask if we needed reservations for dinner or the show & were told it wasn’t necessary, but we found out the 8 p.m. show sold out. So glad the 10 p.m. show didn’t sell out because The Stanton Moore trio was fantastic! The man selling the tickets was not friendly. And, the flyer at the hotel nor the person who answered our call informed us we had to pay $ 15 for the show. The $ 15 was well spent, better than paying for tours.

1. Service was poop with a side of ok. They never refilled my drinks and I got a water refill after my meal. 2. Burger was good. Not great. Thick with NO flavor at all. 3. Baked potato was cold. Butter was not melted and that’s always a pleasant surprise when biting into the potato and enjoying a cold pat of cow cream. 4. Band sounded great. I wish the food matches the music. Come get a drink and avoid the food. 5. PS. Neighborhood is full of hipsters pretending to be fans of jazz as the listen to Kanye on their iPhones.

Recommended to try this place by a local über driver. Said to have one of the best and biggest burgers/baked potatoe in all of nola. Ordered the cheese burger, medium rare. The burgers size did live up to the hype. Unfortunately, I wasn’t too crazy about the burger. The patty was alright. A bit large and when you bit down, it’s just a mouthful of meat. The bun itself was really dry. But this type of bread seems to be very common in the nola area. I had something similar with the po’bo on bourbon. Just a local thing. Sadness, cause the bread is like eating dry styrofoam. The place does however have a great live band/concert at night. I would suggest people come here for that. Fyi, there’s a cover charge.

We wondered to Frenchman street to check out some Jazz and grab a bit. Snug Harbor had great food and lots of options. I had the Filet which was pretty tasty! and way to big for me to finish. We didn’t have a chance to check out the back room where the band was just starting up — but if you are on Frenchman Street and looking for a great place to eat — Snug Harbor is a great one to try.

Terrible service. The hostess was pretty incompetent, I know work place incompetancy, I am a Gov worker… but this chick brought it to a whole new level! With so many places to listen to music and eat how could they expect patrons to put up with this?! Jon Taffer voice«SHUTITDOWN»!! Do yourself a favor and just go to Dat Dog and order 3 sauages. kbyeee!

Great jazz club with good food! They bring in different musicians nightly so you can buy tickets to the show after your dinner. This is a party place and is built solidly with a fairly plain interior. Don’t let the functionality cause you to turn away as the food is worth a visit. The steaks and burgers are outstanding. The fried oysters are a local favorite so you may want to give them a try. Snug Harbor accommodated our large group without a problem. Our food came out hot and tasty and together despite the many orders. Bravo! I would recommend reservations as they are well known and fill up quickly. Bar Recap: since it is New Orleans, the state of the bar should be reported. There is a fully stocked bar with seating on the right side of the restaurant when you enter. They make drinks large and strong. Hurricane Report: The Hurricane is also known as the Monsoon or Neptune here. It is the largest and strongest of the Hurricanes we tried anywhere else and comes in a huge Big Gulp type cup. You will only need one!

Not even worthy of one star! They are not accommodating for groups. They lack service, and totally lack in professionalism! I can totally say Snug Harbor let me(local) and my friends from NY down with making an ass out of themselves. Making us leave with our To Go boxes because you can eat at the bar, but not the tables around the bar! Who does that??? Then, as we left, because the lost the receipt, the psycho bar person came out to the street and tried taking out food away! No, can’t say this local will be back, and I’ll inform all our BnB guests to stay away.

After arriving in New Orleans at about 9 pm on a Saturday night, my girlfriend and I decided to go check out the Art Market on Frenchman Street. After checking out some of the vendors at the market, we decided to get dinner at Snug Harbor. To start, we ordered two Abita beers(Turbodog and Pale Ale) and an order of fried calamari. Although the breading on the calamari was light and crisp, the calamari itself was overcooked and rubbery. Also, it came with cocktail sauce which works nicely for fresh shrimp but didn’t seem to work well with the calamari. Maybe they should have an aioli or remoulade sauce instead. For our main course, we shared the Southern fried chicken(boneless breast) with grilled asparagus. The breading was aggressively seasoned and gave the chicken a nice peppery taste. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was very juicy. The grilled asparagus was cooked really well and complemented the chicken nicely. I would definitely order this dish again. The service at Snug Harbor was great. Our server was friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. It was also nice that our seating area was close to the window, so we could enjoy all of the drunken shenanigans occurring on the street. If you are planning on bar hopping on Frenchman Street, Snug Harbor is a great place to go for dinner beforehand.

On one of the coldest and wettest nights of Mardis Gras our group decided to check out Frenchman’s street and it’s popping Jazz scene. We went into 3 – 4 spots and none were really a fit for our group Then suddenly, like Goldie Locks, we found Snug Harbor, it was just right! Our timing couldn’t have been better as the later show was only a few minutes away when we arrived(there are two seatings each night). Before heading into the back area, we grabbed a few drinks in the front bar area which was well stocked and served some great beers and cocktails. Once we were called into the performance area that’s where the night really got going. The band began and it was easily one of the best live music shows ive seen in a small club ever. The music was top shelf, and that was only surpassed by their stage performance. I mean it was incredible; they engaged the crowd, encouraged crowd participation, and brought people up on stage. One huge highlight was when the lead singer invited a visiting acoustic guitar singer songwriter on stage from Portland to perform an original song she had written. The band figured out her song within a few bars and before long they were playing her song like they’d been playing it for years. Watching someone dreams come true on stage was pretty incredible. Great night.

Had dinner here then went to see the show. Ask early about tickets or get them online. Shows do sell out! And this is a great way to see local talent that won’t break the bank. So dinner was good. If you’re going to see the 8pm show get there by 6:45 at the latest. They will try to get you out for the show just let them know. I had the fried chicken sandwich. Wasn’t sure what to expect. But loved it! It was so moist and flavorful. Not dry at all. Mmmm… no time for dessert, oh well. Then you go into the back area for the show. It’s first come first serve and the doors open an hour before. There’s an upper and lower seating. Getting up front may prove to have more action! Sat upstairs and had no problems seeing. Its a small venue so most seats are good. They don’t. Serve food here but they do serve drinks. There’s a server that goes around… Fun venue. Would come back!
