Places like this are why I often hate Bourbon Street… Places like this get tourists to do things that give New Orleans a bad rap when its usually the tourists that ain’t from here doing the nasty dirty things… Places like this piss me off when they charge rip off prices for LOCAL beer like Abita Amber… Places like this piss me off when shot girls don’t understand no MEANS no… They get one extra star just for their 3 for 1 drink deal during daylight hours which are actually a decent deal but once that special ends do expect to get ripped off big time. Total tourist trap and for the prices you can go to much better and far cooler places. Actually at their prices it might be cheaper to drink in the rip off tourist trap strip clubs…

While I am sure it does great business, Bourbon Live is a tourist trap and should be avoided by locals. Since I am a local, you may ask yourself how I ended up here. Well, if you are also a local you know that Bourbon Street has a way of making you visit establishments you wouldn’t normally dare enter. I think there was some sort of voodoo curse put on all who walk this street by a priestess in 1873. What other explanation makes sense? Bourbon Live reminded me of Cat’s Meow in the 90’s, but without karaōke. What that means is that a DJ plays loud party music while a hype man works the crowd and stage. Need to watch a group of rather large women back that ass up? Come here and you will see it. Want to unleash your inner woo girl/douchebag side? It’s all you whodi. In addition to the mind grating stage show, drinks are far to expensive. I assume they use a strip club price list when pricing beers. $ 7 or $ 8 for a beer is ridiculous. In summary, I am not a fan. Will I ever be back? Only Bourbon Street knows.

First of all, I want to start by saying I don’t know why I do this to myself. I once again ended up at a bar on Bourbon St. Gee, I wonder how it went. Well, it sucked. It was Razzoo’s without the charm. The music was pretty good and the shot girl was super nice, but the guy on stage who was pumping up the crowd needs to work on his act. It wasn’t really entertaining. Of course, in places like this, you gotta take what you can get. So, why the two stars? Uh… $ 6.75 for a beer is the reason. It was Abita Amber, not some fancy import. I know it’s the quarter, but come on.

One of the better music venues on Bourbon Street. The bar has an open format that provides a good flow pattern for patrons unlike many other locations. The restrooms are small, but satisfactory and clean. The bar is well kept and free of clutter at this venue. In general, you can get 3 for 1 deals at this location. Deals are most common during the afternoon and early evening, especially when there is no band playing on stage. When during peak nightlife hours, expect to pay tourist prices for beer(similar to many other venues on Bourbon). The live music here was excellent!

The live band here was pretty good; the singers were powerhouses! The $ 7 beers were kinda surprising in a town where there’s deals EVERYWHERE, but hey, it wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Decent place.

ordered 2 drinks, $ 12 a drink, very small cup! Asked why was told it was a double. I did not order a double!!! Bar staff, bald white security/manager was very rude and kicked me out because I was mad. How does that happen? Security kept taunting us at the door saying come back in so he could«bounce» us out. Very rude will never stop there again. Even with it being free it was not worth it. Be aware of being overcharged!!!

Best Live Music on Bourbon St! The band played for almost 4 hours straight with no break and they played everything from Rock to R&B! Awesome Place!
