Sometimes you just really need ice cream. You’ve got cookies, cake, candy. Whipped cream and juju babies. But you NEED ice cream. The magic of the texture… soft…smooth…full and cool, dissolving across your palate into liquid velvet. The taste almost seems to change and it makes it’s way into… in through you. Yeah. It’s ice cream. This review isn’t about sorbet, gelato, sherbet, or frozen yogurt. This review is about 2 scoops of the original treat, served from a sweet smelling shop in Mid-City. I probably eat ice cream 4 times a year, and rarely do I leave home with the sole intent of buying ice cream to eat right there. But I saw that there was a Baskin Robbins right in the heart of the Mid-city shopping complex and I couldn’t resist. Parking was super easy. The shop: I should call it a ‘shoppe’. It’s cute, small, well lit, and CLEAN! And you know exactly what sugar cones and waffle cones and happiness smell like when you walk in. The guy behind the counter was fast and courteous and let me try a few samples(I know, I know… we all owe it to ourselves to try new flavors) but I ended up with a double dip… chocolate and cookies’n’cream. Both had perfect mouthfeel. I ordered it in a waffle cone, and it was okay BUT seemed to have way to much cinnamon. I’m hoping it was just a mistake in the measurements for that batch. Anyway, it felt good. I felt like a kid again. I will definitely visit again and recommend anyone in the area do so.

By far the very best service I have received in all of New Orleans. I went a few months ago and could not believe the service I received, I decided it was a fluke and didn’t go back until this evening in fear of tarnishing the memory of that great experience I had. I went this evening on a whim and again, received unbelievable service. On top of that, an individual whom I assumed to be the owner engaged me in conversation and was extremely friendly and likable. The level of service I received here is at the level I wish was provided throughout the city, the owner should expand his management to many more service related businesses to improve the overall service of the city.

Clean and sanitary store. 31 flavors says it all. You know what to expect. The customer service was good. The freezer case had options for ice cream cakes that will make you want one. Or two. Or all of the cakes. Ice cream cakes are those odd concoctions that make you wonder: Is this for kids? Or adults? Just who is this cake intended for? Because deep down inside, we all know that too much of a good thing is just bad and wrong. But they are nice to look at. I have been to this location several times, and each time, it is sanitary and the customer service has been good.

In an effort to thwart my stomach’s unusual desire for sweet nothings to fall into it, i tried just drinking a bunch of water and tea. That might sound weird, but it was getting late, much too late for ice cream and it was the lesser of evils I could think of. …So I walk into Baskin Robbins and have to maintain discipline as I try to not let my eyes be larger than my stomach. I think I succeeded a bit. I only ordered a banana split sundae with two scoops of vanilla bean, one scoop of chocolate chip, caramel, chocolate fudge, nuts, cherries, but HOLD the whipped cream, I’m trying to watch what I eat here ya know. So as I watched exactly what I ate go down into my belly, i was reminded of the days when i was a Lusher student uptown on St. Charles and Carrollton Ave. There was a Baskin Robbins right across the street and the workers there would give us free ice cream for getting A’s on tests and quizzes. It was awesome! The sundae ran me for about six bucks and it was well worth each dollar. This is my goto when I didn’t make it to Angelo Brocato before they close, or on a Monday when A.B. isn’t an option at all. Great service, good deals, clean store front. Can’t complain.

New Baskin Robbins! Staff is friendly, place is clean, and give you plenty of napkins. They sell slices of ice cream cake(OMNOMNOM!), the clown cones of my child hood, make smoothies that my husband adores and they make a pretty good banana split. Yum. What’s not to love?

This Baskin Robbins Just opened up in the Mid City area only a few weeks ago. In fact it is so new that I had to add the business listing to Unilocal. The customer service was alright. I mean the little girl behind the counter was friendly enough. I thought it was sorta weird that she had an aversion to answering the store phone. I had the classic banana split, which was something I haven’t had in a long time. The ice cream was good, but it wasn’t like an earth shattering or mind blowing experience were talking about here. This is Baskin Robbins ya dig, not creole creamery. I am not the biggest fan of Baskin Robbins I will admit. But it is good to see this new addition to the Mid City area. Besides regular ice cream cones, sundaes and shakes they sell specialty cakes. In short good ice cream, okay customer service, and another welcome addition to the Mid City area.
