Mariposa Salon And Spa

This place is great! I got an excellent hair cut from Allyson (which is saying a lot because I have very curly hair) she gave me a super cute bob and was very professional. Definitely coming back for my next haircut

This salon is fantastic. I was greeted at the door and offered wine, coffee, water, someone’s first born child. I said, «nah, I’m okay. I’m just here to get my hair did».
Enter Anthony, my delightful, darling and dapper stylist. Anthony has been a stylist for four years and working at Mariposa for over a year. He asked what I wanted my hair to look like, and started mixing color and telling me what conditioning treatment I would need.
He settled on a double process with a conditioning treatment. He was so excited the whole time. «Your hair is going to be bananas!»
As a stylist, Anthony really takes a good deal of pride in his work. While working on me he still had time to run around and assist some of the younger stylists with their clients. He seriously seems to love his job.
Mariposa has a cool monitor in front of the mirror streaming popular Tweets and celebrity news and trivia (sort of like the monitors in taxis). The monitors also had a system where you entered all of your personal info about your hair. Curly/​straight/​colored/​conditioned/​products used, etc. This then allows the system to match you with the ideal product that you should use on your hair. Pretty cool.
Anthony was so fun and my time in the chair flew by. By the time he was finished I had a whole new look and all of the other stylists were complimenting him on his work.
Definitely will be going back soon!

I LOVE Mariposa! This salon is great, and I am so glad I started going there a couple of years ago. Allyson is awesome, and does such a great job. I am very happy with her and the salon, they never try to sell you on things you don’t need, and I also don’t get chastised for only getting my hair cut every 3 months or so (it’s long, it doesn’t need it!). Plus, the new online reservation system is so convenient. Location is great too, especially since I always feel like showing off my newly done ‘do over margaritas once I leave!

THANK YOU! Thank you on so many levels to Miranda and the TEAM at Mariposa Salon! I was in desperate need of a hair color repair and what they did was BEYOND AMAZING! Such a high end, yet humble staff at Mariposa! They took my hair from an outrageous purple, blue, green and black mess that was done at another salon, to the blonde that my hair originally was! (See photo) Not only did the stylists help out with this process but Brenda the owner was completely invested in the improvement and process of this hair color fix! I will definitely be returning and wish many more years of success to this beautiful salon! Hugs!

This is exactly what a salon is supposed to be. Each stylist takes their time with each client & there isnt that annoying rotation of doing 5 people’s hair at once. It is very worth the money. They charge a little more than salons ive been to in the past, but its really worth it. It has such a great energy too, feels pretty upscale.

I absolutely adore Mariposa.
Location. The location is awesome, settled in the new Carrollton Commercial area right next to Verizon Store. You definitely shouldn’t have any parking, in which ample parking in back. This location is cute and spacious. Normally when you go in to salons all you smell are the chemicals, surprisingly you don’t here. It’s very well kept, it doesn’t hurt they offer drinks. Front end staff helpful and wonderful as well. They actually accept walk in (Which I was) and I was helped right away, because they have a full staff of stylist on hand.
Stylist. My stylist was Anthony and he was just fabulous. He was able to give me a blow out and flat iron style to perfection, which is normally an ordeal for my thick hair. He definitely made it work. He is very knowledgeable about colors and finding the perfect look for you. He is professional, friendly, and most important communicative. He is definitely a stylist to visit, because he actually listens to give you exactly what you want and provide a great experience.
They do take credit cards so that is a plus too!
