Textbook hood Chinese place in the UES. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is always ready blazing fast. That said when I order boneless spare ribs(do it) I see them put those bad boys right under the broiler just for me. Lunch and dinner specials are delicious, enough for leftovers, and cheap. Can’t go wrong with this place

This is the worst chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I used to order from them a lot, but their food is stale. The chicken is always borderline spoiled. The beef is spoiled, and they’re rude to customers. Really gross! I now order from Lin’s Gourmet Chinese food on Second Avenue.

Got sick from food here. The food was good, but either it was improperly prepared or contaminated because I got very nauseus/ill from eating it.

4 stars for great value. It’s a little dreary in here with the fluorescent lights and the dated backlit pictures of some of the dishes, but it’s pretty darn cheap and good value. I stopped here on the way home from work, and was glad I did. The dinner special combo I ordered was ready in 5 minutes. It included the entrée, soup, and rice. All for $ 9. 1. Wonton soup: They gave three wontons, which is one more than some of the other places give. The broth was quite good. 2. Beef with broccoli: The beef was a lighter shade of color than I’m used to, but it tasted like beef, so I guess that’s what it is! It was really good with the broccoli. The portions were decent. 3. Pork fried rice: Delicious! The rice was good, but I think they used fatty pork. You get also a bag of fried noodles to munch on. No sauce though… Also remember that hospital employees get a 10% discount.

Food here was pricey and did not taste up to par. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and stir fried chicken and broccoli with white rice and two water bottles. My total came out to be $ 13ish — which wasn’t worth it. The fried rice was hard to swallow and the chicken from the second dish had some raw parts to it, forcing me to spit out most of it… also, the rice to meat and veggie ratio was not even… there was too much rice and very little meat and veggies… indeed, this was the«Wong» restaurant to dine in!

Inexpensive neighborhood chinese takeout, they give you a ton of food. It’s the guilty greasy kinda(american) chinese you want when you feel like being bad. Big fat meaty greasy spare ribs, mmm. fried chicken wings. Lunch specials and dinner combos are a really good value. The general tso’s never fails to please and a seriously salty but decent wonton soup, and a tangy spicy hot and sour soup. Wong is great when you want to sit on the couch, watch movies and have wallet friendly junk food delivered.

The word I would use to describe this restaurant is «efficient». I was impressed by the menu. When I received/tried my food, I understood why it was so extensive. As those who follow me are aware, I’m a pork person. So I had ordered several items from the pork section and chose«pork fried rice» and«house fried rice» as sides. They all tasted exactly the same. Basically, this is what they do: they roast pork. Very well. Then they slice/dice the pork. And put it in everything. In huge fat chunks that have no hope of being ever penetrated by the sauce. No wonder they have«extra sauce» options. You’re going to need it, and it is also likely pre-made in chinatown somewhere, transported by the gallon. Garlic pork: throw some vegetables on the pan, add sliced already roasted pork, dump some garlic sauce(reminiscent of tomato???) on it, reheat. Double-cooked pork: throw same vegetables on the pan, add some cabbage, add same sliced already roasted pork, dump some sauce(reminiscent of the garlic sace, which was reminiscent of tomato?) on it, reheat. Pork fried rice: dump some pre-fried rice, add diced pork(same as above), reheat. House fried rice: same as above, but add shrimp and clearly overcooked chicken. NONE of the meats absorbed any of the flavor from the sauces. They all tasted the same. I also ordered the lo mein, but didn’t even bother trying. Same prep as above. Eggrolls were pre-made — you can buy them in the freezer department in any Chinatown supermarket. Same for pork wontons in spicy garlic sauce — pre-made frozen, fried then slopped with the tomato-ey garlic sauce. Speaking of «spicy» — nothing was, though I requested«extra spicy». It all did arrive reasonably fast and hot(considering they’re 20 blocks away — impressive). I’m not saying the food was bad. It was just… meh. You can order the roast pork and plain fried rice and just mix. Same difference. I have every reason to believe their chicken/shrimp/vegetable dishes(I also ordered the garlic broccoli) are prepa… pardon me, MIXED the same way. I am highly unlikely to order from here again. I would say about $ 30 of the $ 50 I spent on the meal ended up in the trash. It was ok. But the lower-end pricing is conditioned by conveyor-belt prep. So «efficient» is the word.

Fried dumplings were great but general tso tofu was not good at all. It was like little tofu sponges in a really good sauce. Ended up eating rice in the sauce and tossed the tofu — yuck

It’s your basic hole in the wall Chinese take out with no seating. Prices are just marginally slightly cheaper than some other Chinese places in UES. Not the best quality but good enough to satisfy your hunger and craving for Chinese and they claim no msg in their cooking so that’s a plus. Otherwise pretty normal. I got chicken with eggplant in black bean sauce. Chicken was tender and flavor was good so can’t complain to much. Definitely good for late night munchies.

Eugh, this place. Delivery is fairly quick, but the food… Ordered their pork with garlic sauce combo and it was terrible. Portions were OK for the price charged. The pork was just repurposed old, chewy, and tasteless char siu. And the sauce was totally tasteless. Even the spiciness, the only thing you could notice in it, couldn’t mask the awfulness of the pork. Normally I’m not a very picky eater at all but I couldn’t even finish this one before tossing it out. Maybe I just made a particularly bad chioce of dish, or the cook was having an off day, but I’m not willing to risk it again.

Sign on the front says Ji Li. They give you a shitload of excellent food for like $ 6. Two meals, easily. My favorite place in Yorkville. They’re super fast, too — like five minutes. Great for take-out, but there are a couple tables if you want to sit and eat next to the chefs taking their breaks. Try the pork chow mai fun.

You get a whole lot of decent food for a very low price. This is by no means the best chinese food I have ever had, but sometimes I find my self wanting that«american» Chinese food and this place does a great job with that. I don’t think I have still ever finished one of the combo dinners in one sitting and all that for less than almost all other food around here. If you need a quick and easy meal, I can recommend this place, you won’t be surprised either way.

Great place for an inexpensive and good Chinese takeaway. Ordered the dinner sets and must say it’s good value for money and hard to go wrong. Nothing extraordinary with the menu but like I said, inexpensive and good food.

Happened into this place while looking for somewhere in the WV to eat. Cornelia Street always feels like a magical hidden place with small restaurants hosting perfectly intimate atmospheres and effortlessly delicious foodstuff. Wong was a delightful surprise. I had the Rice Noodles and she had the Duck and both were excellent. The service was attentive without being overwhelming and though the place got hopping the longer we stayed, it was never too loud or busy. The cauliflower side was a little mediocre, but not bad. I loved the Brussel Sprouts, but I love sprouts anyway. Everything was great and we will be going back with friends because the serving sizes were a plenty.

Great lunch and dinner specials for large portions of yummy chinese food– what more could you ask for in a chinese takeout restaurant? My coworkers and I used to always go to Wok N Roll whenever we craved chinese food for lunch. Most of us now have converted to Wong Restaurant, also known as Ji Li. They have better prices, bigger portions, and better food. Plus, they accept credit card. Their lunch specials average $ 6 – 7, but it comes with a free soda or soup. Their hot and sour soup is definitely the best! Additional recommendations: –Garlic eggplant w/fried rice. Also, if you add $ 1 for pork, they give you the roast pork slices. Lots of it. — Singapore mei fun — Hot and sour soup again.(their other soup choices are wonton and egg drop, but they’re nothing special)

Not sure if they were having an off-day or something else, but the tofu was over-fried, the chicken wings bland, and the hot & sour soup was more like chili & white pepper soup with little inside… Plus was that the shrimp in brown sauce was good, and the fried rice and lo mein weren’t bad.

I can’t say I cared for it all that much. The General Tso’s chicken was chewy and sort of bland, not hot and spicy as they promised. Usually chinese leftovers in my fridge get devoured the next day, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat anything other than the extra egg roll.

Price: CHEAP! Dinner for my husband and I is less than $ 20 total. Food: Good Chinese food. Always consistent and good. Never disappointed. :) Staff: As a fellow Unilocaler said, the staff here is not so nice. They are rather rude sounding but again you’re getting a great deal on a good meal. They have made a few mistakes in delivery every now and again. Have a little patience with this place, it’s worth the price.
