Used a Unilocal deal for a tasting menu with a bottle of wine and a cheese and meat plate for a great price. the waiter was cool and both the wine and plate were delicious. Definitely would go again.

This is a really cute wine bar in an unfortunately quiet location– if there were more foot traffic in this part of Tribeca, I think the place would be packed. Long and narrow with romantic lighting and lounge seating, Vino Vino has a nice selection of wines, meats, and cheeses. Theodore was wonderful and took great care of my roommate and me. We had the Unilocal deal, which I modified a bit because I do not eat meat, so we got to choose a bottle of wine(from a list of 8 or so options) and we got two cheese plates rather than a meat and cheese plate. The cheeses were all very interesting, with my favorites probably being the young Manchego and the Camembert. They brought us plenty of bread, and we left fully satisfied even without having had dinner. When Theodore came to our table to open the bottle of wine we ordered, he opened it, smelled the bottle, and noticing something was off, quickly took it to the bar to check its quality. He had another server taste it, and he finally brought it to us to taste. He said that he was worried that it was not good but that it tasted fine and wanted us to make sure we liked it too. After trying it, we did not particularly like the flavor(I don’t think it was bad– it just wasn’t good), so he happily brought us a bottle that we preferred. In my opinion, great service doesn’t mean that there are no flaws, but it means that flaws are handled with grace and professionalism. That’s exactly what we experienced from Theodore. If you are looking for a very quiet wine bar with excellent service, I would definitely recommend giving Vino Vino a try.

Wine… had better… and was overpriced!!! Better to come during the happy hour… THEN i think it is well worth it. Food… MEhhhhh. meat sampler was very VERY average.(go to spot is pata negra!!! OMG) toast thing was slightly above average… :-/ Service… GOOD but needed to learn how to pour wine… she kept spilling on the carafe when she poured… NEXT.

I had first been to Vino Vino about a year ago and had a lovely experience but went back last Monday and was appalled at the service! After waiting over an hour to be seated(there were plenty of empty tables but they were very slow about clearing them and seating people), we then waited for thirty minutes for our menu. Not wanting to wait anymore we ordered immediately and waited another thirty minutes for our wine and over an hour for the food. We had ordered crostinis — how can it possible take anyone that long to slap some spread on a piece of bread? Come here only if you are willing to spend 3 hours of a meal consisting of bread!

It was OK. Only came here because I purchased the Unilocal deal for a bottle of wine + meat and cheese plate. The place was empty, but it was early. I’m not sure if it ever gets crowded. Our bartender was… odd. The wine was good, and the meat and cheese platter was OK. I was definitely starving after I was done. I wasn’t expecting to be full, but I was expecting to be a little less hungry. Nope. Teeny tiny portions does not make a happy me.

awesome wine bar! a nice place to talk and catch up on a rainy sunday afternoon in the city. The owner of the bar is super interesting and chill. He entertained us with amusing stories and topped off our wine glasses after we finished our bottle of pinot noir. The location, service, ambience definitely scores this place 5 stars!

I think wine bars are stupid. Somehow, despite my scorn for the genre, Vino Vino won me over. Look to the other reviews for the descriptions of the wines(do people seriously go to wine bars for good wines?), I was sold on atmosphere and service alone. Above all else: the music was amazing. I’m sure if you are reading this you are thinking«ooooooh wow, great, this wine bar has good music, I’m totally convinced now». But, come on, now you are just being a sarcastic a-hole. I’m serious, the music was utterly standout. It was not the style that my girlfriend or I would normally listen to, but it somehow was dead on and made the entire experience 10 times better. The service was that perfect balance of there and friendly when you need it and then gone when you don’t. Nice. Then of course the interior is nice and cozy and everything you would expect from a wine bar. … ok, listen, I know, good music, service, and interior really don’t sound like that much… but that’s only because you are so stubborn and won’t accept that good music could make that big of a difference. It does. It really seriously does. So sack up and give vino vino a shot.

After coming back downtown slightly hungry and sober I Unilocaled to see what was close for wine and light snacks with some outdoor seating vino vino fit the bill. We Grabbed a table outside under the umbrella and looked over the wine list. Very impressive and most carry a few different sizes(glass, bottle, quartino) since we planned on hanging out for a while I did a quartino of a white from the Rhone valley. You can never go wrong with anything french(in my humble opinion) my date grabbed a beer and we ordered a cheese plate, olive and white bean crostini, truffle toast with buffalo mozzarella. All the snacks were good would have like for the cheese board to come with some accompaniments(fruit nuts maybe some honey) they do offer pairings but it’s limited to four options . I was craving something sweet but they don’t offer dessert. The wine store looks inviting though we didn’t come in a lot of people came solely for the store and they do weekly tastings. prices are normal for TriBeCa but I would def return.

We stumbled upon this place, it was a rainy Saturday afternoon and we wanted a nice glass of wine. Really nice people, very cool space. Overall a great expereince and a great find. We had a nice glass of Duras. It was a rich, but light wine with hints of tobacco. I also recommend the cheese plate. Make sure you choose the truffle cheese and also this great stinky, melty cheese that I forgot the name of. This place is a NYC gem

This was a great place for a midday glass of wine, in the area. The setting was intimate enough, and the by the glass selection was formidable. It loses points for uncomfortable seating. It was all half booth/half sit on an ottoman. Had I not been stuck with the ottoman, I probably would have liked it more.

Ok — so I have to update my review, because this place deserves a better rating. I was there last night, and noticed that they have a much more extended food menu. The cheese plate was delicious as always, and I tried the black olive crostini. Its definitely not going to fill you up, but it goes great with a glass of wine. Wine selection was quite good. I asked my server about a particular bottle, and her recommendation was spot on. The service last night was impeccable. And the house-variety prosecco was amazing. You don’t usually get a great wine when you are ordering the cheapest option. Luckily, at Vino Vino, you don’t have to worry about that. They really do seem to put a lot of care into wine selection for the menu. After we finished on the restaurant side, my boyfriend and I headed over to the wine shop and enjoyed a few tastings of some Chilean wines. They were really good wines overall, and I picked up a great Cab. A woman from Chile was on hand to explain all sorts of things about the wines we were trying, and it was a great evening overall. Definitely recommended for a date night. Its a bit pricey, not unlike everything else in Tribeca, but its definitely a high-value establishment. You get what you pay for.

I really wanted to like this space but it’s so oddly shaped and the staff was odd in general… I just don’t know what to do with it. First off it’s rail road shaped with a glass walled wine shop and tasting room next door. This is where it got me slightly confused. There was a wine tasting happening in the space next to us and I kept staring through the window and kept getting distracted from my conversation. If I had ADD, I’d just write this off but normally I’m pretty good with my listening skills. The waitress didn’t come over to us, we had to call her over… We ordered some wine and two plates… it was nothing memorable nor inviting. The whole experience felt so very bare bones. Doubt I’d really come here again. Just too damn confusing.

I get it now. Vino Vino. wine wine. You have two doors. You can go Vino or you can go Vino. Cool! One is a store, one is a wine bar, divided by a huge glass wall. On a tue night, it was quiet, only a few customers, making it a perfect, I mean perfect wine bar. You sit, sipping a glass of rosso, you enjoy your conversation. This is the difference between a wine bar and a bar. A wine bar should be conducive to good intense conversation, as such stripped of bar noise, yet setting the mood with its lighting, background music and décor. Vino Vino gets it right. exposed brick walls, great lighting and worm inviting atmosphere. Service. Excellent! Totally liked our waitress, she was super cool! We stayed one hour after they closed and eventually she came to tell us that the closed one hour before and were waiting for us. We assumed there were customers at the bar at the back, but actually they were her friends hanging out wating for us to finish. She did not want to disturb us. I shake my head, pinch myself. Am I in New York city? Am I dreaming? Who does that? Two glasses of wine, $ 30. 20% tip is $ 6, 30% is $ 9. She can not be doing it for the tip! Wine selection by the glass. Could be better. We had a Bolgheri, which should have been deeper and more palatable. However, mood setting and overall service wins. Thank you Vino

Well, I really wanted to like this place. Goodness knows, I liked my date, but the digs left a good bit to be desired. Somehow Vino Vino just missed the mark with me. I even say this after I inadvertently kicked the table and shattered a glass. Yes, the staff was understanding and very gracious, but my date and I were here prime time on a Friday night and, if crickets were present, well, they would have been heard. Dead as a doornail on a rusted(shut) door. Perhaps the ‘glassed in’ wine shop is novel when the place is hopping? To me it seemed to emphasize the cold and relative isolation I felt in this setting. Yes, cold IS understandable given the outdoor temps lately, but with no one in the place? Heck, the door WASN’T being opened and closed, so why wasn’t it warm and cozy?! yadda, yadda I can’t help but think this is a great spot during happy hour when bottles are half priced. Mostly I just couldn’t help thinking that I’m sitting here, paying full price for wine, when it’s half-price and surely more welcoming at another time of the day. The buzz of this place emanates from the wine bottle, otherwise: snooze-o-rama.

There is a group of girls that I am friends with, and they love the finer things in life. Like, they actually know the difference between a Merlot and a Cabernet Sauvignon. I can tell the difference between white and red wine. Color blind? I’m your guy. If you’re like them, you will absolutely positively love this place. but if you’re like me, you’ll still enjoy vino vino because their décor is so simple, sophisticated, warm, and inviting. The music is at just the right volume, making that glass of wine a perfect complement to that conversation you’ve been meaning to have with friends you haven’t seen in a long time.

Vino Vino is a charming little date spot for oenophiles. Half wine shop, half wine bar, it has a chic, minimalistic modern décor. The left wall is flanked by black leather settees and tiny low wooden tables with a couple footrests surrounding each table that could be used for friends who don’t mind sitting without any back support. I would recommend this for couples or pairs of friends, rather than a large group because of the seating arrangement at Vino Vino. I was there on a Saturday evening and it was very quiet, making it easy to have an intimate conversation. A glass wall separates the wine bar from the wine shop. As you sit and sip your own glass of wine, you can stare unabashedly at the humans who wander around the shop with their own glasses interacting with salespersons. It’s a human zoo of some sort. Or in a glass bowl. It makes for an interesting people-watching experience. The wine selection at Vino Vino changes and the website isn’t always up-to-date. I had a glass of palatable, but utterly forgettable Orvieto wine. The cheese, however, was absolutely not forgettable. I adored the rich creaminess of the Epoisses and the buttery taste of the young Manchengo. Wine and cheese? Yes, please.

I actually LOVE this place for it’s laid back ambiance. Great wine selection? Who cares. It’s relaxing. You’ve disappeared for an hour or so. Granted. I zig, when other people zag, and I was here in the late summer, in the early evening, so it wasn’t exactly a sexy«club scene», but me and my lady were relaxing with good service, and a little voyeurism through the glass wall of the wine store next door. There is a small bar toward the far back of this place, and basically, a low bench seat, along the entire wall leading back there, with clever, but uncomfortable square stools of equal height dotting the low tables. This place is right near the first stop for the Chinatown bus from Philadelphia,(in Tribeca) so if you need a place to relax after being cramped in psychedelic clad bucket seats for 2 hours, this is a good option. Otherwise, any other time is fine too.

I LOVVVEEE Vino Vino for an extensive wine list, artisinal selection, spacious seating areas and generally as a low key place to hang. I wish Vino Vino had food(besides cheese & olives)…wine really works up a girl’s appetite and was a little livlier. Will definitely be taking advantage of the Happy Hour specials posted on Unilocal

Is it the Italians or the Indians who get their v’s and w’s mixed up? I don’t remember anymore. I do remember Vino Vino for its lofty Tribeca setting, narrow yet great selection of wines and cheeses, and friendly service. Vino Vino combines a wine store with an enoteca/lounge, the two separated only by large panels of glass. While consultants and bankers might mumble mystic formulas of one plus one greater than two, synergies, cross-selling and one-stop shopping, I would caution Vino Vino with what restaurants in street corners of Bombay have always known — one rarely if ever eats where one shops. The narrow lounge is stylish, quiet and conducive to conversation. The bar menu showcases a selection of cheeses – manchego, beemster, epoisses, tete de moine(from Iowa, j/k), camembert to name a few that make up the majority. The pairings and small dishes are a distraction if you come for pre-dinner drinks, unnecessary if you come for post-dinner drinks, and don’t quite satisfy if you expect to have dinner here. Interior design aficionados might suggest having bettter connectivity between the lounge and the store, or having ceiling-high shelves. But I think Vino Vino has got it right given its Tribeca context. ‘In vino veritas’ reminds a wall hanging in the store. May the cheeses at Vino Vino rescue you from falling for the excessive truth-telling effects of wine consumption.
