My friend had his card behind bar but I was paying for the drinks with cash. They ended up charging us twice for all our drinks. They refuse to fix it. crooks! Be careful with the bearded j/o behind the bar.

Happened to stop by this bar with a friend who was in town. Impressed that it was not as divey as I expected. If you like quality draft beer, or low quality draft beer, in the appropriate glass, this is a great place. The happy hour specials are truly special(two or three dollars for good beer). However, bring cash! Ten or fifteen dollar minimum, so there is the catch :) The gentleman who was bartending was efficient and cordial. He seemed to take pride in his service and the beer he served. I look forward to my next visit on my next bar crawl!

Nothing special here folks, just a regular bar. Based on the name however I imagine it to be excellent on Sundays, Monday nights, Thursday nights, and sometimes Saturdays from September to February. So why a review if there is nothing outstanding to say? Just an observation which was made on a Saturday night. I was meeting a friend here who was there for her friend’s going away party. Simple enough. The bar was surprisingly not crowded for a Saturday. Still enough people to fill it up, but with plenty of elbow room. The long bar had 2 of NYC’s most inattentive bartenders. I understand if it were busy where you have to fight for their attention to get served, but let’s face it, they were more interested in their phones than serving people. In regards to service, this was purely amateur. I would think you put your best tenders on weekends, but it was the week of new years, so maybe their bests were on vacation. Other than that, it still remains a regular bar and beside the fact that night produced a minor annoyance in service, I’m not opposed to coming back again.

$ 3 craft beers on Tuesday? What’s not to like about that? When I walked into the bar, everyone seemed to know one another. Apparently my friend and I had crashed some sort of event. Its ok. Crashing parties is always fun. The bartender was helpful in recommending me a beer, I decided on the Harpoon UFO white. It was light and crisp, had an orange peel citrusy taste, and wasn’t bitter = easy to drink. There were several TV screens around and it was easy to get a seat. Also, it wasn’t loud in there so it was easy to have a convo. $ 3 beers… now that’s a winner!

I first found Third and Long awhile ago after searching for bars with the NHL Center Ice package. I’ve since been back not just for hockey, but to hang with fellow Dolphins fans. It’s nice to know there’s a place where we can all suffer together. As it’s a standard sports bar, there are standard beers on tap, but there are also some decent craft beers. The prices are good, especially for the area, and I believe there are also good happy hour specials. The tab after the duration of the Dolphins game two Sundays ago was only about $ 50, which is damn good for three big lushes like my friends and me. Every time I’ve been, the crowd has been pretty laid back and sports-oriented. Everyone was easy to talk to, and although some gave my friend shit for wearing a Pats tee, we ended up hanging with them the entire rest of the night. I only wish they had food, as football fans get drunk and hungry very easily. Also, really, Third and Long… I love you for supporting my mediocre football team, but I can’t stand you for seemingly supporting the freaking Habs. Ugh!

Sweet place to hang out after work. Super cheap drinks(like 3 dollar beers) and good bartenders. Coworkers love the tv’s there.

Third and Long, in my opinion, is an excellent sports bar. Like many in Manhattan, there are quite a few tvs hanging around showing different channels. There are plenty of brews here that will satisfy the needs of pretty much everybody. The bar is quite lengthy, and there are a couple of lounge like seats on the outskirts of the area. The happy hour ends at 9, so you can enjoy a 4 dollar draft or well drink to your hearts desire. I believe there are other specials that I did not get a chance to take advantage of judging by other reviews. Would love to come back. This is definitely the season for it. Cheers P. S. Go Giants

I came here for a quick drink after work recently. From what I can tell, Third & Long is pretty much your standard-issue bar, with plenty of standing/dancing space in the middle, with a few tables hugging the wall along the front and some more in the back. The beer selection didn’t blow my mind, but I do give props to a place that has Leffe on tap(even if it does set you back $ 7 per… a bit more than I would have liked). We got a seat at the bar and kept our glasses filled the entire time. Hard to ask for more, and I’d come back if I wanted to crash a joint nearby for a few drinks. I could definitely see it being more packed on a sports weekend — TVs everywhere for you to watch sports.

If you can get past the fact that it’s a Montréal Canadiens bar(come on, really?!), this is a great watering hole. Not the typical Murray Hill bar — it’s not packed with drunk rich kids fresh out of business school — and the drink specials reflect that: $ 4 domestics on Sundays, pub trivia on Wednesdays and, of course, craft beer night on Tuesdays(watch out hipsters; it’s still a sports bar). They also have a rotating selection of craft beers available for $ 4 every month. Tuesday used to be dollar beer night, but OHGOD, THIRDANDLONG, WHYDIDYOUENDTHAT!!! No food here, which is weird, cause I thought a Canadiens bar would at least have poutine. If you’re really hungry and don’t want to give up your seat, you can order in for delivery and they’ll bring it right to you. The weird thing: this place is never crowded. Maybe that’s cause the Murray Hill clientele is packed down at Tonic East, but unless there’s a big hockey game on, there’s usually room to move and breathe. This is also a Miami Dolphins bar, but that shouldn’t affect the crowd as Miami Dolphins fans don’t exist. Despite no longer living in the area, I’ll still find myself here sometimes, waiting for those dollar beers to come back… or just enjoying the fact that there’s a low-key, not-too-divey sports bar somewhere in the city.

A small, decent sports bar. Had the beer special — 16 oz. can of Diesel for $ 6 which was good. The crowd was kind of the random the night that I went, but we kind of kept to our area so it wasn’t too bad.

Small space, but great bar for watching sports due to the numerous TVs mounted all over the place. I’ve enjoyed some hockey games here… but they did turn off the Vancouver game which my Canuck roomie wasn’t too pleased about.

GOODFOR: Cheap weekly beer specials($ 1 beers in NY, Unheard of…) BADFOR: NYC’s SantaCon — This bar WILLNOT safely fit any more than ~80 Santas

This is a No-Nonsense bar. What drew me to this place was walking up seeing a big sign for $ 1 dollar beers. So tada! I went in, had 5 or 6 at the bars — dropped a $ 10 bill and walked out. The beers were probably ¾ of a normal beer size — so for $ 1 each it’s worth it. Note: They don’t have a kitchen, but you are welcomed to bring food from outside or even order from a local restaurant.

What a catchy name. Football reference? Maybe. Refering to the Long Brothers… our favorite local legends? Perhaps. This bar is great. Curtis, the bartender is just squeezable. He’s a Browns fan, and writes a blog about the bar — which is hilarious(if you go back far enough, I’m probably starring in a few). They always have a good special, they do buy backs AND they have games. Like, Connect Four or Monkey in a Barrel. Do you know how funny it is watching a 5’0″ girl play Monkey in a Barrel? The chain is longer then she is. There’s a ton of TVs here, and just about any sport you can want to watch. During the day its usually the blue collars coming off work — who are, in my opion, the best people to drink with, and there’s big windows you can open and hang out of(if you’re into that). They don’t serve food here, but you can bring your own, have it delivered(pizza and chinese food right next door). We used to come here every sunday to watch the games and generally whoever orders pizza… will share. **everyone here is friendly. if you’re a jerkoff, don’t come ruin this bar for the locals and their friends**

I can only comment on the $ 1 beer special on Mondays & Tuesdays, but that in itself earns Third & Long a 4 star rating for me. $ 1 beer. All night. Mondays & Tuesdays. Really? I mean, what more can I say?! This is my go-to spot to catch up with a friend on Tuesdays. We order 4 mugs of Bud Light at a time and never have too much trouble finding two stools at the bar. The mugs are smaller, so get two at a time. I love that it’s never too crowded like some of the other $ 1 places can get. The service is fast and the music is good too. Definitely try this place out above the $ 1 beer competition if you want more of a low key night to enjoy conversation with friends.

I know I’m outing myself as a lame trivia nerd here, but it must be said. I think that allowing people to pay for points by doing shots at the bar undermines the fundamental principles of trivia. Yes, I know, it’s about bonding and having fun at a bar and general debauchery, but trivia is also about knowing stuff. If you know more stuff, you get more points and you win. If you know less stuff, you lose. Except here. Anyways, it’s a fine bar, Murray Hill, I go often enough, the drinks are cheap blah blah blah. There’s no food and it’s pretty brotherific. If my friends are going, I’m in, but not sure I’d go there on my own volition. There’s so much more to see! Go ahead. Hate on me, haters.

Not a big fan of sport bars, but I like this place. They have great deals every day for beers. They are never too crowded. They have comfortable seats in the back. They even have live music sometimes… tonite they were preparing for some as I was sipping a beer with my buddy. A solid choice if u r up for a cheap drink in the hood. Recommended.

Ok– $ 1 and $ 2 beer nights. Nothing else really needs to be said here does it? Well in my case yes, because I did not go on one of these miraculous nights, I went during the afternoon Tuesday and my beer cost a still very cheap $ 4 or so. I paid for the first one anyway, a guy there wanting to market his new draft– ny lager– bought my next. Very good. Apparently for the NY Lager they did this survey of New Yorkers asking them what a beer should taste like and gave their results to a master brewer at Sam Adam’s who put something together for them. It’s on tap there. The bartender was both friendly and hilarious(he was this guy from Morocco). One of my favorite things had to have been the soccer goals in the men’s urinals. Hope I’m here again on $ 1 beer night!

What’s not to love about a place that sells $ 1 beers? Sure, maybe that’s only a special one night of the week(Tuesdays), but the rest of the week has it’s fair share of cheap drinks too. Other than its great deals, there’s really nothing unique that sets Third & Long apart from the rest of the bars in the area, but great deals are enough for me. It’s a laid back atmosphere, an ideal place to wind down after a long day at work with friends, thanks to many bar stools and lots of tables and seating around the restaurant. Keep in mind that there is a $ 20 minimum for bar tabs here! At most places in the area, a few overpriced beers will get you there pretty quick, but when you’ve got specials like these, it gets to be more of a challenge!
