I tried miso ramen. Noodle and soup is very close to the miso ramen in Japan. Amazing! Only thing I just took one star off is the pork… doesn’t taste like«home made», but it’s only my impression. Maybe I am wrong. So overall, ramen there is excellent.

This place is so mediocre. Like absolutely, terribly bad. The noodles are not chewy at all and resembles the yellow noodles from Chinese fried noodle dishes. The meet was also too fatty. The broth had no taste. Nothing redeeming. The ambiance is okay, but the food is just so bad — a pity since it was so close to us. Thank you momosan for saving us from Ramen Takumi!

Came here for the first time and set my expectations too high. The food was surprisingly good, we ordered a spicy ramen, Kim-chi ramen and spicy pork buns. But the reason for my two stars is the service. Our waitress had a horrible attitude, and came to take our order right after we sat down and still had the menus open. She was not helpful in terms of making recommendations on certain questions we had about the menu, and just seemed super rushed to take our order. What was the most upsetting to see however was to see all of the customers of Asian descent receiving much better service. Their drink orders were taken(she never asked what we wanted to drink, and when we ordered beer and asked for a glass for the beer she seemed super annoyed and slammed it on the table). Two tables came in after us, one about 10 minutes and the other shortly after. BOTH tables got their food well before our pork bun appetizer even arrived, both tables happened to be of Asian descent. Never the less I will not be dining in-house here anymore.

Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Ordered the Tan Tan Men and it was the perfect level of spicy. I’m not the best critic of ramen because it was the first time I’ve ever had the non-packaged crap, this was a great step up and makes me sad that we don’t have any ramen places in my home town. Would absolutely go again if I ever visit New York a second time.

So so ramen and very much over priced I think is decent but the miso ramen is just ok You spend around 20 dlls and feel that you didn’t feel it was worth enough lol I went twice but i prefer to walk a bit more and get to Tabata ramen

Looks better than it tastes. I got the miso ramen, pork ramen(starts with a t), shrimp tempura, and tan tan men. So I was just asking if they had some type of pork belly ramen because I didn’t see it and the guy was really rude about it. He was like pointing at the menu and looking at me like do you read. Like yeah dude I can read and it was just a question to point me in the right direction… Shrimp tempura was not crunchy– soggy in fact. The broth is really salty and I am pretty sure there is some type of msg in there. I was so thirsty after eating. Noodles are average– not really the ramen kind. The ramen costs about $ 13 each. My ramen had half an egg and two pieces of meat in there… not satisfying. For the price you can def get better ramen elsewhere. Service wasn’t really friendly which turned me off. I wouldn’t come back.

An extraordinarily mediocre bowl of ramen. Chewy meat, decent broth, lame egg, good bamboo shoots. If you have a craving and are too lazy to go downtown, then this will do.

Pros Good service Accepts credit cards Frequent stamp card: Get 10 stamps and get 1 free ramen. Good Happy Hour special: Free order of gyoza or Japanese beer with your order. Near our hotel Cons Everyone in my group loved their ramen, save for myself. I ordered a ramen that had ginger in it. It was supposed to be spicy but the ginger made the broth excessively sweet. I would visit again if I’m staying in the neighborhood, but probably would not re-order that ramen again.

Slurp able delicious ramen set to great hip hop music. Food: Loved: Abura soba for a rich and flavorful soup-less experience. I usually shy away from shio ramens because they’re too salty, but this shop has the only one I’ll eat in the city. Service: quick, prompt, and professional. Ambience: nothing to complain about. Cheery and functional. Great music!

Ramen Takumi is a hidden gem. Anyone ramen place out there has pork broth ramen, and I won’t come to Ramen Takumi if that’s what I want, because they don’t have any pork based broths. However, they do cater to those who love ramen but want chicken or vegetable based broths. I had never had chicken broth ramen before, so I don’t have much to compare it to. I ordered the Shio Ramen. It’s definitely not as rich as pork broth ramen, but it wasn’t bland! The ramen noodles were cooked well and the pork slices were soft and not dry at all. And oh the choices. There must be at least a dozen different ramens on colorful menu. I wanted to try them all. Next time I’m definitely trying David’s Shoyu Ramen, the Hangover Ramen, and the Kimchi Ramen to name a few. They also have a wide selection of appetizers on the menu in addition to various rice bowls, should you not want ramen. Super impressive for such a small store. I wouldn’t recommend coming here with a large group. There is traditional ramen seating at a bar in front of the chefs as well as regular table seats. The service here was spectacular. Very attentive. We made a connection with one of the servers over my cell phone case, and I think because of that, they gave us a complimentary bottle of a green tea soft drink and a green tea mochi ice cream! I understand this is not the norm, but it definitely enhanced our experience! All in all, I was very impressed with Ramen Takumi. Though they won’t satisfy my craving for pork-based ramen, they’re a great alternative to those with specific dietary needs and I would gladly stop in for a hot bowl of ramen.

For late night munchy, I had David’s Shoyu Ramen. It was beyond my expectation. I was born and raised in Japan. Had enough Ramen. Solid food and good service here. I highly recommend this place.

Mom and I had a craving for ramen on a cold day but didn’t want to go anywhere. Ramen takumi saved the day! Within 25 minutes we had 2 hot bowls in our hands on the couch. My mom had the curry ramen which was delicious. My extra spicy tan tan men was even better. The broth came separated from the meats and veggies so nothing went soggy. Will be ordering from here again!

Ramen Takumi is a fine place if you’re looking to satisfy a ramen craving in Murray Hill. While it may not be the BEST ramen bar in the city, it’s at least worthy of filling your stomach for one solid meal. I stumbled upon this place because I was passing by, it looked busy and the atmosphere was clean and authentic. I had the tan-tan ramen. The ramen was quite good if you like a bite in your noodle. The broth and chicken in it was just decent at best. The egg was good but not the best soft boiled egg around. The service is really attentive and quick too. Overall, a bit pricey for decent ramen but it’s a fine establishment.

Plain and simple, bad ramen. Meal was gross, it made me feel sick and left a bad taste in my mouth. As far from fresh as food can go, all tasted pre-prepared and frozen. Plus it was $ 14! Sad, I was really looking forward to some nice ramen.

Service is ok, food is ok, ambiance is ok. The David shoyu ramen was very peppery. The chasu was very lean. The noodles were good though. They had a good chew and were not overcooked. Overall, not bad but I wouldn’t make a trip to come back.

I lik– I LOVE Ramen. ANDLESTTHATMAKEYOUTHINKTHISISPRAISEDON’T EATHERE. I’m not joking about this. I love the stuff. I travel extensively, I eat Ramen everywhere I go. I eat Ramen in Japan, NYC, London, Jakarta, Paris, Houston, LA. I know Ramen. I had warnings here. The smell in the air wasn’t right. I make Ramen in my own home. It takes 24 hours so make a good broth(trotters and head) and Pork Belly. The marinated egg, the black garlic sauce. It all has a DISTINCT smell when it’s made, it lingers, it’s porky. It’s so porky and linger-ey that if you make it at home, by the time you eat, you’re not all that enthused by porky pork water full of collagen and fat. But you do… You eat the heck out of that stuff. Pork… EVERYTHINGABOUTTHISPLACEISTHEOPPOSITEOFEVERYTHING I HOLDDEARABOUTRAMEN. THISHASMOREINCOMONWITHTHE $ 1INSTANTRAMEN. FULLSTOP. Lovely people that don’t know what a good bowl of ramen is. And I am sorry if you think this place makes good Ramen. Strike that– I’m happy for you. You’ll feel the way I felt the first day I ordered Ramen and found the love affair I have with a beautiful bowl, once you get your hot little hands on some. Now after all this– you know what I did? You’re probably curious. I’ll tell you. I ate ¼ of a cup of this watery mess and asked for it to go. I paid my tab and walked out of this joint and I threw that expletive in the trash. Straight up. Then I went and ate Italian. And if you like Ramen and you understand the flavor profile, you’ll know that I made a full 180* turn off my favorite food because of this place. Lovely people though.

It pains me to write a bad review as the service was decent — but I’d feel even worse if people thought this place had good ramen. Their ramen was simply sub-par. I’ve had the Tan-Tan Men($ 13) — which has a spicy broth with bean sprouts and bamboo shoots and left extremely unsatisfied. The broth tasted like hot water, the chili powder stayed in powder form and did not mix well with the rest of the dish, and the noodles were tasteless. I love eating good ramen, so when I get a bad bowl, it’s just a big disappointment. My friend came here a separate time, and apparently he has suffered in the bathroom after the meal. The only redeeming factor of Ramen Takumi was their service. Our waiter was kind and attentive — kept refilling my water.

To be honest, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good enough for a four star review. Menu was extensive, a lot of choices and options with diff add-ons and etc. Food itself was okay not great but not bad. Ramen soup could be improved, noodles were okay. It’s really hard to describe the experience… It was just o.k. After 6pm you can get free gyoza or beer with a ramen order. That’s really generous because the gyoza itself costs $ 5. The gyoza was pretty good. The rice bowl add on though, was a joke. The bowl was so tiny I can’t believe I paid $ 5 extra to add it on to my ramen. Salads were okay. I think this place is great for a late night snack or midday run. For better quality food, there are tons of other options.
