I just walked by Wharf today and saw that it is closed. I am so upset about this because it was one of the only bars I liked in this area. Wharf had a really cool laid-back vibe, great staff, and I will especially miss the Crush drinks, as this is the only bar in the city where I can find them. What a loss to the neighborhood!≠( Wharf, I will miss you and I hope you can re-open somewhere in the city. What is this city coming to? All my favorite places close due to greedy landlords and developers. Good luck to the owners and the staff. I really hope you can re-open the bar.

$ 1 Tacos. Despite all the negative aspects of this place, I can’t hate any place that gets me three tacos for $ 3.

Cheap beer, good deal in food and variety of beer selections. The service in none busy hour is frustrating though.

I’m really going to miss this place as I’ve gotten word that they are closing in a couple of days due to developers who have bought out the building and possibly the whole block. This was a great place for lunch and after work events with insanely good happy hour deals for each day. The food was also exceptional and loved their waffle fries. I really hope they relocate somewhere close!

Ordered for delivery to the Grand Hyatt at 10pm on a Saturday night. Extremely fast service however the food was okay. I ordered the grilled shrimp with vegetables; shrimp & rice tasted only like lime and the vegetables had no seasoning whatsoever. My boyfriend ordered the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich which he said was way too much seasoning. Waffle fries and mayo were awesome tho!

Been a customer of The Wharf since they opened… and I still keep going back. That’s quite a few years now. The staff is always friendly and the kitchen is open late! During Games and Late nights the place is busy, but never a problem getting a space and no problem getting served at a table or at the bar. Staff seems to be very aware and come back often to check on you. Like I said,. been going here for years and it’s been this way the entire time. A lot of the staff has actually been there since opening too… shows the atmosphere is fun and the owners are doing something right since bar and wait staff turn over is huge in this industry. Keep in mind, it’s sports bar style, not quiet romance or steakhouse business. This is a great spot to grab a pint, watch a game, nurse a hangover, pre-party, stay and party, come back to for one more drink after the party… Excellent relaxed weekend lunch/brunch/early dinner with friends or the family too… I bring my parents and in-laws when they’re in town for a casual meal. The food is consistent and their wings really are the best around. There’s a place dedicated to wings across the street and The Wharf puts them to shame. Also, the wings are priced extremely reasonably for NYC. Actually, the entire menu is priced reasonably, and the burgers and steak sandwich are pretty kick-ass too. Drink specials galore… Days where there’s $ 4 all drafts, and $ 3 Miller Lite Bottles and $ Mich Ultra specials other days. Keep it up Wharf — I’ll keep coming back… practically every week

It’s a surprisingly big Murray Hill space, with your typical New York City bar and some bar stools/tables(the in-between from sitting and eating at the bar and actual restaurant seating). But its actually quite a great place, went on two dates here(two different guys lol) and hit it up for lunch every once in awhile. There’s a big restaurant space upstairs as well as an outside for when the weather is nice. Had myself some nice Lobster Mac and Cheese. Though the salads really I’d do better making at home myself and the wine is rather weak, can’t complain about the fish dishes or the meats. It’s a great casual hang out after work also, and a great location.

There was a man named Bobby. His business was set inadvertently upon his Type-A personality. His response to customers was prompt and polite. Great atmosphere. I was here for a short time because it was late and it was the only bar open within quite a few blocks. Pretty clean place, had a great time!

Ehh, for a sports bar and grill, this place is packed to the brim with happy hour yuppies from the area. There’s very little breathing room, and there are only two restrooms. The service here is pretty bad. The waiters/waitresses are attentive, but the kitchen sucks. Food comes out in random intervals, and doesn’t follow any logical progression of ordering. You’ll get your beers and shots quickly, but be prepared to wait an hour for a burger. The selection of beers and cocktails also isn’t great, and you only get baby shots, for quite the price too. The food is bland, and sauces don’t seem to exist. I’d rather go to the hundreds of other places around the area.

A really poppin place for a post-work happy hour but like most sports bars of the type, it gets really loud and pretty crowded. The back«patio» area is very fun and is pretty good for private parties(it can be reserved and they will section out the whole area for your group).

Pretty nice sports bar right in the heart of Murray Hill. As a head’s up, this place is deceivingly huge! They have multiple floors — the first floor has a bar immediately when you walk in, and then you can go up a small flight of stairs to an upstairs/balcony section with another bar and they have some tables, and then you go through a door to their outdoor covered deck, which has another bar and a lot of tables. The only downside on the deck is that there are only two TVs, so if you’re coming to watch a game, you’ll have to come early or wait to get a table that has a good view of one of the TVs. However, I tend to enjoy any sort of outdoor space in NYC where you can eat/drink. Overall, the place is decent — probably higher on my list of sports bars in the area. They have beer specials and pretty much have anything and everything you could want, drinkwise, and their food is decent. My friend and I came here one night to watch football, and we ordered the nachos and I got a garden veggie burger, but served on their normal bun(their menu has the veggie burger in a pita). The food was pretty good for bar food and for some reason, I think nachos at bars are one of the greatest things ever. Their nachos didn’t disappoint — loaded with cheese, salsa, beans, veggies, sour cream, and guac. Perfect amount to clog my arteries. The burger was pretty good and it comes with waffle fries, which is always a nice substitute instead of traditional fries. I definitely pigged out and didn’t get anything healthy, so that’s probably another reason why it all tasted good. Also, it always seems to be packed with people, which is a good sign. People come for happy hour, dinner, corporate parties, etc. so it’s usually packed.

All these white girls… I should have came earlier… Was the first impression of this place. Well that’s not completely true. My first impression was look at this bar located on a dark strip of the street on 3rd Avenue next to an even darker bar. I’m not even sure if they have street lights on this block. Do NOT let that fool you. In between the sexy female clientele and the $ 1 taco deal that is running 4pm-2am on Tuesdays AND Wednesday along with certain drink specials(beer), you’d be press to find a better place to hang on a weekday. I will definitely be a regular for those $ 1 tacos. I think I had 9 tacos that night but I could have easily had way more around the range of 25 or so in one sitting if I didn’t have to wake up tomorrow. Their $ 1 tacos aren’t the best you ever had in your life. In fact the chicken(chopped chicken) was a little bland without the hot sauce that manually added on and the beef(seared ground beef) was something that I didn’t favored. BUT the tacos is something that is still good and I’d go so far as to say it is better than MOST food truck taco places. And for a buck? You really can’t beat that price. The bartender was cordial and there were plenty of TVs showing sports game to keep me entertained while the ladies were up and about. It was a big of a trek from Grand Central Station but I’d gladly trek here each and every time for tacos.

After a few failed Unilocal attempts at some late night spots in New York, boyfriend and I were referred to this restaurant from across the street and frankly, I’m glad everything prior was closed. We shared a few appetizers(the wings and calamari were excellent) and had a drink. The food was great but also the atmosphere was complimentary to awesome bar food. They’ve got an electronic jukebox that I got to relive my high school years with. Really great place to get a drink and a bite late at night! –Megan.

I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had the absolute best lunch I’ve had in a while. I wish I still lived in Murray Hill because this place is THEBEST! Décor: Staying true to their name it has a bit of a nautical theme, which is fun. But, overall, it’s a pretty standard bar. There is plenty of room in the main area and up the stairs to the back(patio/covered deck area). Also, there are plenty of TVs to catch a game. Bathroom: Pretty standard, clean, and inviting. The one on the main floor is key if you are seated at the bar. Staff: The bartender was very friendly and very quick taking my drink and food orders. Also, she was on top of additional drinks and water refills. Food/Drinks: I had 10 Buffalo Wings(hot) to start and they are AMAZING; they were a good size, perfectly cooked and the flavor/heat level of the buffalo sauce is outstanding. Best wings I’ve had in NYC or Hoboken. For my meal I had the Turkey Club and it was delicious. I wish the mayo came already on the sandwich, but it isn’t a big deal. Also, I went w/regular fries and it was a mistake — their waffle fries are definitely the way to go. Value: The prices are about what you would expect for a bar in this location. They have some great weekly special too that you should check out(like $ 0.30 wings on Sundays & Mondays!). I really cannot wait to come back again for another meal and drinks. This is an old favorite of mine and will remain so well into the future.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. On one hand their drink specials are great $ 4 drafts and their apps are also pretty good. They have huge and tasty jalapeño poppers. The service is also very good and attentive. But, where they let me down is in their buffalo wings. Their wings could be better, if they put extra sauce on them. The basket I ordered each time I’ve gone has always been somewhat dry and lacking on hot sauce. I like my wings on the saucy side. Oh and the crowd… I guess it depends on the day/time, but so many college kids.

When a weekend in New York City becomes a weekend at the Wharf, you know it’s a good bar. The night scene is one of those pubs that has the mini dance parties the break out, making it enjoyable for everyone. Plenty of places to sit and hang out, and just as many places to stand and get after it. The day scene is great for football. $ 5 mimosas and chicken noodle soup make a great start to the day. And $ 4 Bud Lights and $ 0.25 wings was enough to take us through the end of the day. The Wharf is surprisingly big, too. The front bar, the middle bar tops, and stairs up to another bar and an outdoor porch area that is open year round. Only downside is the bathroom situation. They are beyond tiny, so leave your purse at the table because it will not fit.

First, beware: I came here on St. Patrick’s Day and the bartender stole $ 10 from me. I handed her a $ 20 for drinks that totaled $ 8 and she never gave me back any change. I asked for my change and she, very defensively, told me that I said keep the change, which I never said. She then proceeded to talk about me and point at me to the other bartenders. How could I argue her? I called the next day to complain to the manager, but what’s done is done. I never said keep the change and the bar was too crowded to find a manager, argue for the $ 10 etc. I have been back since, I went last Monday night. The male bartender was friendly and recommended an Orange Crush for $ 5. We tried one each and it was pretty delicious. It’s made with a fresh squeezed orange, orange vodka and Sprite. It really tasted fresh!

My friends were all blah about going here, but after being booted from another local dive, this was the only option without double cabbing it. They have signs all over about the Sunday special which was $ 5 orange crushes. Being an orange soda fan, I was excited. Turns out the drink is nothing more than fresh squeezed oj, some orange vodka and some filler. Bleh. The bartender also said is was a ‘girly drink’, oh well. Food came out and was decent. We ordered all fried munchie food, so nothing really should’ve knocked it out of the park. Mozz sticks, buffalo popcorn shrimp, chicken fingers. Edible beer munchie food. The back outdoor area is large and has TV’s so don’t be discouraged if it’s packed by the entrance. Overall, Wharf wouldn’t be my first choice, but it’s not a bad place to hang!

Does Sheila E. come here? Because I felt like I was living a Glamorous Life* during my visit to Wharf Bar**! Why did I feel this way? All domestic drafts are $ 3.50 during happy hour! I had a Magic Hat No 9, Capt Lawrence Pale Ale and a Goose Island IPA… each just $ 3. That’s pretty glamorous! Did someone say wings? Try 30 cent wings! And these were meaty, not those little wimpy-ass wings you see at some happy hours. Definitely glamorous. You want fries with that? Well you better be wearing a tuxedo, because they don’t give you just regular fries, you can get waffle fries. Now that’s glamorous! Nice service, clean bathrooms, plenty of tv’s…you can go here if you want to lead the glamorous life(although as the song goes, without love, it ain’t much) ___________________________________________ * she’s awesome
** for my geeky sci-fi friends, this type of Wharf has nothing to do with the Klingon guy from«Star Trek: Next Generation». That was Worf. Sorry dudes!
