A decent Korean bar near the main area of ktown but just off the beaten path so you can avoid the 1 hour+ waits and loud music. The bar has high ceilings and a small second floor with more available seating. They also have a few karaōke rooms but I never really see anyone coming to this spot to try and sing. As far as the food goes I’d call it something in between mediocre and decent. The last time I was there my group ordered a spicy pork rib with cheese dip dish which I was not a fan of. The flavor of the pork was unimpressive and the cheese solidified so quickly after being brought out it was impossible to «dip». We also ordered a seafood/clam soup to share which I enjoyed. Some of my friends thought it was too salty but I enjoy that type of warm salty goodness while I’m drinking, especially soju. We also got fries, dumplings, and mozzarella sticks which were fine but nothing to write home about. I did like that an employee came around with a variety box of Korean ice creams(which are the best ice creams out there period!) for sale for a couple bucks. That was a fun, unexpected quirk I thoroughly enjoyed. Bottom line, the food is definitely not as good as some of its neighboring Korean bars but the availability of seats along with the fun décor of twinkling lights to go with its theme makes it a spot I wouldn’t mind returning to for a night of drinking and general debauchery with my friends– but probably only because the others in the area are packed.

Place to go when you don’t want to wait an hour for other ktown drink places on Friday/Saturday night. We ordered spicy pork cheese dip dish and clam soup along with a few bottles of soju and beer. Clam soup was pretty salty, but goes really well with soju. My friend kept adding water when we were almost done with it, and it tasted pretty much the same. I had high expectation for spicy pork cheese dip, but it was mediocre. Cheese wasn’t so melty so we ended up eating chunks of cheese with little piece of meat. So we were done with cheese before we were done with pork ribs. Also pork ribs were pretty stiff and not pleasant to eat. It can be pretty spicy without the cheese so if you cant eat spicy food it’s not for you! One thing i really liked is that they sell korean ice cream. I thought it was pretty clever to sell ice cream when people are drunk and heated from alcohol. Overall it wasn’t as good as i expected and I’m not too sure if i would come back here again

The«best» thing to get at this place(at least for picture appeal) is the pork ribs with mozzarella cheese. This is the item that most people take pictures of and makes it look so good but in actually kinds tastes horrible. the pork is so dried out and the marinade is just not good. also the cheese hardens as soon as its off the hot plate so you’re just eating hard cheese with not very good pork. and the combination of the two is just very good either. do NOT get this. you will regret it. but one appeal is that there is a great selection of korean drinks from different kinds of flavored soju to different kinds of flavored makuli! so if you’re in for a korean kind of night for drinks i would recommend this place but def not for the pork thing.

A great place to relax after work or have fun with friends. Cute music and sparkling light. The food is much more better than pocha at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Banana honey mak-gul-lee!

This place is just like Pocha except with higher ceilings and better food. I would pick this over Pocha anyday — there’s the same round metal table and stools. The place is decorated with strings of one-color X’mas lights. Starry night gives you a plate of baby carrots, cucumbers, and dried ramen(that tastes sweet). The food is not as good as restaurant food, but it’s okay as bar food.

For starters, this place is very overpriced. If portions were larger, or the food was outstanding somehow, the prices might be reasonable. But neither is the case, unfortunately. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants/bars nearby that offer far greater value. What was truly terrible about the place, however, was the service. The servers were all very short with us and seemed to want to rush us out. But the most surprising thing was the tiny little pot of Soju we got for $ 20+ when everyone around us seemed to be getting small pitchers for the same price. When I asked the server, she said«it’s the same,» but it clearly wasn’t. We finished it in two rounds of small shots(six shots total) and it seemed outrageously expensive for what we got. So did the tiny portion of spicy rice cakes we got for $ 9. We had a couple of rice cakes each and that was about it. Total rip-off. The final server huffed arrogantly when we asked to split the bill on three cards(the bill said a maximum of four cards, I believe). We all left wondering if they maybe just have a problem with people who aren’t Korean since we seemed to be the only non-Koreans in the place. Unpleasant experience all-around. We certainly won’t be going back. Weird, maybe-racist vibe in there. And the food and drinks are certainly not worth the cost.

A fun over stimulated environment reminecient of sleepless nights in highschool. The food all fried with the exception of our steamed pork belly which could of been fried if subject to a blind test If you love your food deep friend and covered in cheese this is your place

The food here is mediocre at best. I’ve tried their fried chicken, ramen and ddeokbokki and they were all so-so, and they were quite pricy for their portion and quality. The service can also get really slow and inefficient at times. One good thing about this place though is that the venue is quite large and it doesn’t get as crowded as other more popular bars in Ktown like Sojuhaus, Third Floor Café, Bangia, etc. In sum, I probably won’t come here unless I need somewhere to sit down and drink with a large group of people around Ktown at the last minute.

As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was in korea. They blasted a lot of old school korean songs from the 90s, which was a little too loud for my taste. They have lit up lights all across the walls, hence the name«starry night». It’s a good place to go to if you and your friends want a casual night of drinking and eating korean pub food. Servers are pretty nice but you kind of have to call them over if it’s busy. I got the pork and cheese dish, which comes with pork on bone with mozzarella cheese dip. It was really spicy but the cheese evened it out. Perfect dish to go with your drinks. I suggest you to go with a lot of people and order other dishes too because just eating the pork and cheese dish was kind of sickening towards the end. Definitely give this place a try if you’re into super koreanized atmospheres!

Cute place — SO Korean. Twinkly lights, K-pop classic tunes, round tables made for imbibing rounds and rounds of soju, while stuffing faces with freshly fried chicken with crackly skin, dunked in trays of sweet and spicy sauce, honey mustard and salt and pepper mix. The best thing to get though is the plate of cheesy corn that is more cheese than corn, and somehow is exactly what your body needs at 3 am.

i felt like i was right back in south korea, lol. this place is ok to go with a group for a night of drinking/eating. mm… the vibe is like a bigger pocha32 in k-town. i had spicy rice cakes w/banana honey mak-gul-lee(rice alcoholic beverage). maybe it’s because i LOVE banana and honey but the drink was AMAZING. i believe some people would beg to differ… as if they were drinking protein shakes w/a hint of alcohol. which does not sound too tasty. anyway, i guess the only way to know is to try it yourself! service is attentive. there’s a dj playing korean club music haha, which is so funny because the place used to be a club(Eden) filled w/underaged boys & girls before it turned into this bar lounge. The only thing that creeped me out were the mannequins randomly placed throughout this place. … i kept getting a glimpse of them from the corner of my eye. i felt as if someone kept watching me. .. .

I have been to starry night for few times, but surely I love this place. I always go to this place because it is just so cozy and musics are not loud but good enough. The foods are nice and simple, and the atmosphere is warm and chill. Its definitely a good place to get reunion with your friends

We went on a monday, it was pretty quiet and the food came out fast! Our waiter was very nice, they brought some vegetables and ramen chips for the table and all the food was excellent! We will definitely be back!

Believe it or not, a quiet, moderate, not as packed, and no wait on weekends pub exists in Ktown on 33rd in between 5th and 6th! Starry night was round 2 of our Saturday night excursion for a friends birthday, a great choice for drinks and conversations where our voices were not drowned out by the excessive bass and treble of the sound system and where there was no fear over drinking would be a concern. In fact, Starry Night supported binge drinking according to the sign in Korean illuminating on site at the entrance. We ordered pitchers and bottles. They were out of Yogurt soju and grapefruit soju. The waiter asked if we were ok with waiting as he went to pick up ingredients at the grocery store. It’s a Saturday night you are out of yogut soju the most popular drink(I think) at 9pm? Unacceptable, but the admirable gesture and exemplary service made up for it. Fruit dish, complimentary on the house, was served. On top of that the staff let us make song recommendations to be played for continuing to order and contribute to majority of starry nights revenue for the night. The hidden secret — Starry Night is for medium size groups that are looking for a quiet and modest night out and avoid the obnoxious, out-of-control, irresponsible, cannot handle their liquor drunks.

You can say that I am a sucker for pain. Maybe I was train that way ver since I was a kid to give people more chances than they deserve. So not any other day but on my birthday I returned. Do I hate my friends for this? Perhaps but now the truth is even more evident. We are not small spenders nor are we little portion diners. Group of four will usually order 5 to 6 dishes with about 6 bottles of soju. We started the night with Boodaejjigae, Fried chicken gizzard and Dukkbokki with battered Gimmalyi(noodles wrapped in dried seaweed and fried). Food quality is a ok. Nothing great. Obviously you are not here for food but to drink, meet people and unwind at the end of a long day. Dukkbokki dish came out and here were only 2 pieces(tiny pieces) of Gimmalyi. We called the head waitress and she said that it would be extra $$ to have more. So I said bring 10 more and we will pay for it. She returned with an attitude and said they completely ran out of it. She was not apologetic at all but gave us that look of «I so tired of you» stare. I could not believe that this was their best customer service attitude. I gave it a 2 star because there are certain things that I do like about this place to be fair. I liked the DJ system because you can request songs, interior is cute and feels like a soju place, and most of the staff is friendly except for this particular server with that BRF. Next time you see me there, please send some shots over because you know for a fact that I was forced to be there. Uggh.

Another awesome Korean lounge! Some friends and I were out eating and drinking and we decided to check this spot out since one of the girls’s friend had recommended the place to her. To find it, we had to look it up on Unilocal!Seeing as how few reviews there are on here, they either opened not too long ago or you just have to know about the place through word of mouth. I liked the décor of the place with the string lighting and projections on the walls. It wasn’t too packed on a week night. There are a few tables on the first floor and there’s also a second floor with a balcony looking down on the first. We sat upstairs at a table and noticed a large group up there. At one point they all got up to go outside to smoke. If you come with a big group, that’s probably where you’ll end up sitting since they can combine a few tables. The tables have a button that you press to get service. We sat down and got a pitcher of beer. Ahhh yessss. It was pretty late, so we didn’t end up getting any food. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to come by again with some friends next time I’m in NYC!

Pretty good Happy Hour deals here. I came a couple of times with Ken P and friends. As he mentioned in his review, if you spend more than $ 200, they grant you free use of their karaōke room for 3 hours. Niiiiiiiice. The food was good. It was standard Korean drinking accoutrements, i.e. Budaejigae, wings, etc. nothing mind blowing but it was all good. The atmosphere is an interesting one. The space of the dining area downstairs feels like the dance floor of a club. The bar looks like there should be a DJ booth next to it. The upstairs is super dark and probably use to be full of couches where less discriminating couples would copulate while on multiple mind expanding drugs. Now it’s full of candlelit tables that are too tall or booths that are too short. All in all, this is a decent place to get your drink on. You could do way worse in K-Town.

Awesome place! We were seated upstairs this time… which they could definitely take some time to redecorate. Aside from that, this time our bill came to more than $ 200 and we were awarded with a free use of their karaōke room for 3 hrs. Awesome!!!

Meh~maybe I expected a bit too much. For those people that are my age(I’m 28 but 30 in Korean age), this place used to be CAMEL Night Club a couple years ago, then it became EDEN Lounge Night Club from 2011 – 2012, and now it has become this ‘drinking place’ called«Starry Night» that seems to suffer some serious identity crisis. From the outside, the place looked promising, but once you get in, your first reaction might be ‘WTF?’ lol –First of all, décor is weird. A mix of a dive bar, pojangmacha, futuristic, clubby, and somewhat ghetto. There are small tables and round tables you see at Pocha 32. There are light-shows going on like if you’re drinking it a club as well as flatscreen TVs playing Korean music videos. Oh, and there’s even a DJ playing Korean music from the early 90s leading up to early 2000s(H.O.T, S.E.S, BABY V.O.X, SHINHWA, etc which is my generation) and that was probably the only good part about this place. Oh and the 2nd floor has a separate private room for Karaoking(I could hear the singing from the restroom) –OVERPRICED(A pitcher of beer was $ 18 here and it was NOT even ICECOLD and VERY lukewarm). I’m not a big fan of beer but whenever I do drink it, I want it COLD not lukewarm and warm like I’m drinking Sake or something. –Food Options are limited. We got Steamed Squid with Chojang sauce(Gochujang with Vinegar)($ 15). Nothing special, no sides, no freebies. –Service was blah, despite not being a huge place, servers were non-existent or just too tired out or bored. DJ tried to create a fun atmosphere and get customers in the mood for ‘drinking’ by making some comments or jokes while he played the music but the crowd wasn’t too responsive. –Clientale was probably 90% Korean, a lot of FOBS but of the much older crowd(late 20s to early 30s). Pretty relaxed atmosphere but I don’t think I would return.
