I got the Combo with Kim Bab and spicy rice cake with a side of fried pumpkin. Wow. Everything is so tasty. Even the soup that comes with the combo is super flavorful. I absolutely love this place!

Since I missed ddukbboki(spicy rice cake) and kimbab I had in Seoul, I was researching about the closest Korean snack place and came across Gochujang(which literally means spicy chili paste). I ordered the ddukbboki and kimbab combo which was around $ 7, and it was not bad at all! I’ve been to many Korean snack places in NYC and had been disappointed so even though the ddukbboki is not super delicious, I’m willing to give it a 5 star rating. The food comes out quickly, which is a bonus(less than 5 minutes every time I come here)!

Worst service ever. Ordered the dukbokki(which usually comes with fish cakes and and one egg). Got upstairs and realized she only gave me ONESINGLEFISHCAKE(WTF?!). Went back downstairs to(very) kindly ask her to possibly add 2⁄3 more so it’d be a BIT more proportional/fair, and she absolutely REFUSED to be understanding and spoke in broken English that it «come with» and«portion.» Pretty ridiculous — you’re now on my blacklist and I hope every person who checks Unilocal sees how crappy service you provide. I’ll be going across the street from now on.

We came here and ordered the Bulgogi Kimbap. While the food tasted great, the wait time was unacceptable. This restaurant is essentially part of a big food court(You expect your food to come out waiting at most 5 minutes), but we waited well over 15. Kimbap is essentially Korean sushi, and we ordered two rolls. If we are around the area again, I will try another shop if we have to wait this long.

The Gochujang served me some kimbap and fish cake soup but there are other options such as tteokbokki, tempura, and blood sausages(soondae). It claims to be Korean school food, but I’d say more like street food /snacks. While there are set lunches/dinners to order from, you can also buy items separately. The service is extremely spotty and the two staff members that man the counter seem overwhelmed by the amount of orders placed. They give you a buzzer to inform you the meal is ready. My bulgogi kimbap was great but the tuna kimbap was not as flavorful or spicy as I would’ve liked. The fish cake soup was delicious and soul warming. I would probably give this place another try but if the kimbap spot across the street looks more appealing, I might be over there instead.

Came to food gallery for quick food. Went into Gochujang for bulgogi kimbap. was disappointed because it was really salty, and the rice was very thin. instead of the regular kimbap veggie, they replaced that with leafy spinach. They get 3 stars because the soup was okay. The last time I was here was around July and the bulgogi kimbap tasted fine though. I usually go to E-mo for kimbap, that place was the bomb! I guess I’ll go back to E-mo for kimbap now.

Every time I visit New York I eat at Food Gallery 32, but only on my most recent trip did I stop at The Gochujang instead of one of the other establishments. Now I don’t even want to bother with the others, this place is that good. If you love Korean street/school food as much as I do, you’ll get your fix here: The kimbap is huge, the ddeokbokki is nice and chewy, and the sweet potato or pumpkin tempura is amazing. ANDIT’S CHEAP. I may make a day trip from DC to Manhattan just to eat here…

This place is sub par at best, and next time I’m in Ktown this place won’t even be on my radar when Woorijip is across the street. Had the bulgogi kimbap and ddokbukki to share. Kimbap was dry and bland and lettuce is such a weird addition. Not a fan. Dokkbukki was good! Nice texture to the rice cake and big pieces of fish cake but didn’t make up for the meal being meh. Go across the street for the good stuff!

Came here for the first time last week and I’m a fan! I only had ten minutes before my train so I needed something seriously quick to go. Paid $ 7 for a bulgogi kimbap and I was very satisfied with the portion and soup that came along with it.

Until someone introduces me to better a better, this is where I’m going to get my fix. There are a few places in this Food Gallery that I go to and without fail, The Gochujang is always one of my stops. Wasn’t quite prepared for the spiciness as ot was my first intro to Korean food but I ate it well. Last time I ordered with friend dumplings and it was delicious! So, if you know of a better, please let me know :) I’m diving into Korean food nonstop.

Really enjoyed the kimbap and the spicy rice cake with fried squid. The spicy rice cake had a great flavor without being nose running spicy. There was so much kimbap that I probably could’ve split into two meals. Total was 15 bucks which was a great price and included broth soup to help quench your thirst.

This spot inside Gallery 32 may not have the best Korean food in the area but their ddukbokki with kim-ma-ri(rice cakes in a not-so-spicy sauce with fried seaweed rolls) is my guilty pleasure and I must have it every couple months. I couldn’t even finish the dish last time, but as usual, I left the place very content. Ddukbokki really is happiness in a bowl.

Came here for lunch this week. I had the Ramen soup with fishcakes –it was very spicy which I love. Awesome flavor and lots of eggs it was very tasty. The place itself is kind of like a food court in the mall. There’s lots of little tables and tons of Korean and Japanese food options. The food comes out pretty fast –within five minutes. Great for takeout, or to grab a quick lunch.

Whatever you do, don’t order the goddamn soondae aka blood sausage. It was the worst thing I’ve ever had. I had a bite and it was just weird. It had no flavor and the texture was funky. I hated it so much I got a take out box and gave it away to a homeless person. True story. Avoid this place at all cost.

Got the regular ddukbokki dish. This dish came with a soup which was actually pretty good. The ddukbokki itself wasnt as chewy as i would like it and the dish had alot of sauce but not enough ddukbokki which was abit disappointing. I did like how they added a egg in the dish.

Spicy tuna kimbap and their fish ball soup — simple, healthy but super yummy! There we go, another quick to-go lunch.

It is extremely difficult to find ddukbokki in the New York area that is inexpensive. Also, not everyone wants to eat a massive plate of it. I seriously just want, at most, six rice cakes— when my craving strikes. Soooooo… I was totally overjoyed to find the Gochujang stall hiding in the Food Gallery 32 food court. Dubbed as «Korean School Food,» because of the snack-cart style food served— mainly and specifically ddukbokki and twi-gim(commonly known as tempura). This stall serves up any pojangmacha snacks that would also be excellent with soju, makgoli, or beer; all of which are conveniently located for purchase in the drink cooler directly in front of Gochujang. My favorite item here is the Kim-ma-ri served with ddokbokki, since the kim-mar-ri is excellent dipped in the sauce. Kim-ma-ri is potato noodles, wrapped in seaweed paper, battered and deep fried. The cost for both of these items together is around $ 8 and the serving is massive. I am not able to find this same dish on the block for under $ 12. You do the math. The sauce is not very spicy, not very sweet, just very neutral. And, the fish cakes are pretty much non-existent. Overall, it is still good.

Once you get over that annoying and not-interesting complaint(Why I am paying $ 8 for something that costs a few cents on the streets of Seoul… or wherever) The Gochujang is a smart new addition to the generally excellent Food Gallery 32. The concept — Korean School Lunch — is so high-concept and specific as to have almost no meaning. In general it means freshly-prepared Korean meals that are easy to take on the road. The bus to my home town of Albany stops around the corner, so recently I grabbed a meal side order of the ddeokbokki, or spicy rice cake. This can be a tricky one to nail, despite its ubiquity and cheapness on the Peninsula. Gochujang doesn’t approach the mouth-scalding spice levels I’ve had elsewhere, but it was pleasingly peppery for an environment with a limited water supply and questionable bathroom. There’s also kimbab, although I’m not why you wouldn’t grab this from the specialty establishment across the road.
