Came here for a couple of beers before our friend’s birthday party. There was a great draft selection, and plenty of TVs to watch the game. The bar itself had a great old timey Irish pub feel. I would recommend this place to sports fans who want some wings and a big tv to scream at. I tried the Nachos which were good, but pretty standard bar nachos. My BF had the crab cake sliders, which he enjoyed but I didn’t really care for. If your in the area, stop by for a beer!

Sure, why not stop by here and sit outside or in the patio garden for a drink? Pretty standard bar food and drinks, standard service. Nothing memorable about this place but nothing bad either. It sounds like the food is surprisingly good so maybe we’ll try that next time.

Food is good. Nice selection of beer 4 craft brewed, hand drawn, taps. Right amount of carbonation but cold as regular tap beers. All in all a good easy place. Prices low to average for area. No real happy hour but good at any time. The food is fine. Typical pub food but very well done and tasty. Service is friendly and quick.

Came here from Pinball. 10% off. To my surprise, the food was delicious. I had the male waiter, the chubby Mexican dude. He was mad cool and friendly. We came during happy hour so I got a draft Bud Light for $ 4. We ordered wings, onion soup, and mac and cheese bites. ALL were delicious. The wings were mad good and a nice size, too. Not even overpriced, I got 20 wings for about $ 17. Anyways, it was a good experience, after the food and two beers my total was $ 40. Not bad for bum a$$, pricey Manhattan. Would go again. Service is very slow and orders were taken then something else arrived at the table, when the correct order arrived the individual components tasted delicious but some things were refrigerator cold, it’s clear it was assembled poorly but prepared well and as a Brit I enjoyed and would recommend the scotch eggs. The vibe is warm and fun and it’s good to be next to the pinball spot next door.

PROS: — cheap happy hour drinks THEOKAY: — Magnum cider — its decent. I don’t think its as good as kopparberg tho — Rose — ok — nachos — comes with guac, salsa, and white dips and cheese over it. Great for curbing the hunger and snack with drinks — Chicken fingers — very pretty decent as well. the honey dijon or mustard sauce was good. — Mozzarella sticks were standard. CONS: — I didn’t like fried mac and cheese triangle pieces but the sauce was good though.

Came here with two friends on a Sunday at noon to cool off from the heat. The bartender, Kim, gave us really good recommendations of the beers on tap based on our taste. She was also the most fun person to talk to! Kim, you’re awesome, thanks for everything! The place is also spaceous and tidy, and it looks really sportsy, which I like. TVs all around the place to watch sports, so I would def love to come back for a sports event.

Pretty cool little pub. Came here for a little bit of day drinking. I am from the West Coast, so I loved checking out pubs because they are more hard to find in my neck of the woods. All wood everything. Cool looking beer tap pulls. Fun and nice bartenders. Sports on the tv. This place had all of the things to love about a pub. I also saw a sign for a decent looking lobster dinner deal. Wish I could have checked that out.

Tip: Bring cash, as you have to have at least a $ 20 tab to use a credit card. Stopped by here after playing some pinball next door, really convenient. Unfortunately, it took about five minutes after we walked in to be greeted by the bartender. She wasn’t busy, just talking to some people at the bar. The bar wasn’t full either. There was a couple with a dog at one end, and a few people at the other. You should really greet people that have just come in, even if it is just to say you are busy and you’ll be with them. The saving grace was that the bartender was actually pretty nice and had some good recommendations. The Twisted Thistle IPA by Belhaven Brewing is phenomenal. They have a lot of interesting brews on tap. Plus, it seemed to be decently into sports, with plenty of TVs in there. Probably a good place to catch a game. Overall, seemed like they had plenty of good brews, just need to work on welcoming people in.

Cute ambiance. Our waitress was painfully new. My mom always has lots of questions at restaurant. The waitress couldn’t answer any of them, and never offered to go find the answers… They weren’t busy. And unfortunately, we were left wondering if the chef wasn’t new too. The Beer Battered Cod with«chips» and Mushy Peas — The fish and chips were greasy and moist with grease saturation. The mushy peas(which were forgotten, then we asked for them) were completely flavorless and almost watery. The Chicken tikka masala on rice and fries… Was a bit bland but not bad. The fries were drenched greasy along with the ones on the other plate, but the masala could stand on its own I suppose. But we won’t be back to find out.

I came here on a Friday with a good friend of mine, and we did have a blast. Great food, fabulous beer selections, awesome music — you can’t go wrong. The only con about the visit was that we initially tried to sit in the outdoor space in the back, but we did NOT get anyone to come and take our order. We waited 25 mins and just decided to go back and grab seats inside where we ended up being served right away. Not too much of a biggie.

I stopped in here for some lunch to go since I didn’t have enough time to sit and eat. The bar area was pretty crowded for lunch who were mostly men enjoying food and watching sports on the big screens. The staff were cool and I had no issues while I waited for my food. I ordered from the lunch special menu and had the pasta with sausages that was really good. If I am not mistaken it was $ 9-$ 10 which wasn’t bad because it was a big plate and I had it for lunch and dinner. It took a while to come out but the taste was definitely worth the wait. This is a spot I will check out again and chill inside and enjoy my meal with a cocktail of course.

With a plethora of sports bars in the area, the Madhatter Pub & Eatery sets itself apart with it’s covered outdoor patio in the back. With projection and flat screen TVs, it’s a great spot to watch a sporting event with your friends, particularly British Football. The food is typical pub fare, but nothing special with the service to match. If you’re looking for a no frills sports bar in the area you can’t go wrong with the Madhatter!

Loved the outdoor beer garden at the back. It’s a great place to gather with friends during the afternoon on a weekend. The beer selection was enough for me too. Come here to drink and chat with friends, don’t expect a delicious meal. Stick to the basic bar appetizers and you’ll be fine. The portions are large, however, 3 stars because the food is nothing special. The calamari was terrible; chewy and the fried part wasn’t crunchy. The chipotle sauce made it worth eating since it covered up the mediocrity. The cobb salad was typical, and they offered the right amount of toppings. It’s a meal in itself! My friend had the crab cake salad appetizer, they give you three on top, but again, nothing special. The wings were good, so were the fries.

Quaint bar. This review is strictly on a weekend night just for drinks. If you’re looking for cheap drinks, this is a good place. If you want a good crowd and to mingle/meet people, you should probably go elsewhere. We came with a medium-sized group(10 – 12 people) and hung out at the bar by the front window and there was plenty of room for us, especially considering it was 11:00pm on a Saturday night. So, yea not a crowded or popular bar that night. But sometimes that’s nice and you want a more chill bar. Budweiser was $ 5 in the bottle which is pretty standard. Décor: creepy. Outside the bar there was a huge UGLY clown head(see picture). I’ve only been here this one time but I’ve seen pictures of this bar online and there is no clown head so I’m assuming it’s just for Halloween. I sure hope so! Inside décor was nice: dimly lit, red lighting. I like a bar that’s not too bright and not too dark. Not too loud, but not quiet either. It’s a science when it comes to ambiance and I was digging the ambiance at this bar. Just not the outside.

This guy that was sitting next to me at the bar had mouth-watering smelling and looking pasta. I don’t know what it was but it was the«pasta special of the day». Came here after playing pinball a few weeks ago for a quick drink before heading home with my friend. We saw a sign that was advertising what I believe was $ 5 wells/wine/martinis/bottled beers, $ 4 drafts of Bud/Bud light/select drafts until 8pm. On Mondays they do a 50 cent wing night. Definitely not a bad mid-week happy hour. Trust also in that they have much better beer than this. I just saw a sign outside and since this is one of my least favorite areas of New York we sprung inside. They also co-own The Cricketers Arms, The Irish American, and Liam’s Pub. Very British. Very soccer enthused. Manchester City fans. Fullers(a type of which I had never had before, ESB) and Boddingtons on tap. Wonderful things. Three different cask ales. A red English phone booth that houses their wine collection. I was hungry but wasn’t up for splurging on an entire entrée so ended up splitting a side of chips with whatever seasoned mayo they had on the side. The chips were fantastic and a much more generous heaping amount served in a paper cone than I had expected for only $ 5. For some reason I think I’m more partial to this than Churchill’s around the block. It just feels a little more worn in, a little more homey, a little less fancy, and a little more authentic Brit without the gimmicks. Exactly why I’m boosting this up to 4 instead of 3 stars. I’d come back if I needed to find a pub on Murray Hill.

My first 30 minutes at Mad Hatter were reeeaaaalllly bad. The middle hour and a half were mediocre, and the last hour and a half were good. I think that averages out to three stars. So, first off you should know it’s the Manchester City bar for Manhattan. I would NOT suggest going there on a Saturday or Sunday during the Premier League if you’re a Man U fan. It happened to be the championship-winning game for City, and the bar was packed with people standing on the sidewalk watching the TVs above the bar. NBC Sports was filming the City supporters. I was ready to find somewhere else when the bouncer told us that their back patio was nearly empty, and if we could get through the crowd up front we’d be totally fine in the back. So, having 15+ years experience as a festival-goer, I put on a big smile, fired up the old ‘excuse me, thank you’ and went for it. I made it through the first group fine, with my bf behind me, politely explaining to the jam-packed(seriously, fire hazard anyone?) crowd that I had no intention of standing in front of them and was making my way to the back, where there was plenty of room. Then I felt an elbow in my side, repeatedly, jabbing my ribs, then my back as I passed. I stopped long enough to look at the girl who was elbowing me and say«that’s really not necessary, I’m going to the back, you don’t need to elbow me.» Her response was, «keep moving, b*tch.» So I told her she was a terrible fan, and I kept moving. Fortunately literally everyone else I encountered had no problem letting me pass. I made it to the back, where I was greeted by two giant screens with the game on, sunlight, and plenty of room. It was awesome. My bf was not so lucky, as apparently I struck a nerve when I called the elbower out on her poor behavior, and apparently she started crying and made a huge scene in the bar, which kept him from being able to pass through the crowd for another 10 minutes. Finally, he made it through the gauntlet and we took on the next, slightly less Herculean task of getting drinks. The service out back was spotty, which is understandable considering the ridiculous crowd inside. We were able to get drinks(generic restaurant coffee, weak Bloody Mary’s, and finally a pitcher), and food, which like almost everything else we consumed in NYC that weekend was overpriced and completely underwhelming. After the match ended people left in droves and we sat at a table for about an hour and a half, drinking, talking, and relaxing on their lovely patio. So… I guess I lived through it? But was also hungry still, and not willing to pay for more mediocre food. Likely won’t be back unless I happen to be in town for a City match, in which case I’ll try to arrive much earlier.

Came here about a week ago after having some pinball fun next door at Modern Pinball — get 10% off your tab at this bar with your writstband from next door — anywhoo, not an awful spot for a quick pint if you need to kill time or if you know… you just want a cold adult beverage. I really like their British pub theme and their thorough execution of it. Lots of football(erm…soccer) scarfs hanging by the bottle area and the red British phonebooth are both really nice touches. Decorative elements and friendly bar staff do make this place pretty enjoyable if on a Drafts and bottles here range around $ 6 – 8 with the most inexpensive ones being ciders. No weekend happy hours, just a brunch menu that comes with 1 complimentary drink. The menu itself(both brunch, bar and regular) looked tasty but nothing stood out to me as a *must have*. I probably wouldn’t come here to make a night out of it, but I’d check it out to grab some grub or enjoy 1 or 2 quick pints if I’m in the neighborhood. I’d rank this place 3.5 Unilocal stars, definitely could be more inexpensive considering the various other options in the neighborhood, but still A-OK.
